UPDATE Oct 11 2020: played Dye. Definitely the hardest of the 4. Wild bunkering and elevation changes. But the best greens and fairways. Zoysia has taken over the greens and they are lush and true. A different Zoysia has been propagated on the fairways and it's covering maybe a third of the area.so nice to hit off of. All that's missing is better bunker maintenance. Dye is a superb layout! Not for anyone with an index higher than 16 in my opinion. UPDATE October 2020: Played the Faldo Course. The most interesting and challenging of the 3 I have played. Front nine is easier but 9th is difficult, a par 5 with a fairway that narrows and hazard all along the right side. last 4 holes are terrific. 15 is a short par 4 down into a small green surrounded by a hazard. 16 a long par 4. 17 a long bunkered par 3. The closer is exceptional: drive over a ravine to a small landing area then all the way uphill to a green with hazards in the back. Fairways were ragged in places, and bunkers needed more sand. Some greens were fine, others had bare spots and rough spots. Greens are a mix of grasses but they did not play too different from hole to hole. Despite some of the issues with maintenance, Faldo is such a good layout that I enjoyed myself nonetheless. Dye Course soon! UPDATE august 2020: I played the Aoki Course. Very enjoyable track. Fairways were lush because of the rains, but well trimmed. Yes there are weeds but not a problem. Greens were a patchwork of different grasses but they played fine. Maybe 9 on the Stimpmeter. Like Norman, Aoki is a fairly wide open and easy course. It measured a bit more than 6400 yards from the blues. Very enjoyable for most mid handicappers. I liked that one short par 4 in the front nine where you choose your landing area, and you can even drive the green if you hit long. Good par 5 over water on the 12th, and the 18th, with water all along the left side, is a worthy finisher. Can't wait to try Faldo, which is being worked on, and the notorious Dye course, supposedly one of the most difficult in the country! ORIGINAL REVIEW: Played the Norman course. Fairways were weedy, hard and patchy but in general acceptable especially if you play preferred lie. Norman is a chill resort layout with a few truly interesting holes like the narrow 15th, a par 5 with a ravine all down one side. Greens are suitably interesting without being unreasonable. Can't wait to try the other three tracks! The club has done the right thing by prioritizing the rehabilitation of the greens, which may have had some native grass intrusions but were smooth and quick. Zoysia is taking over some greens and that is a good development since that grass is more easy to maintain. Bunker edges are not the best but it doesn't bother me. Sand is not the premium kind but it plays fine. I heard a lot of horror stories about poor maintenance in ER before but I honestly think the club has turned a corner. They own their own brand new equipment now, and tourists traffic is helping boost their cash flow. The share price is extraordinarily low, you can buy one for P40,000 plus transfer fee. That is what makes ER get five stars for me. A proprietary share with four courses is amazing bang for the buck. The opening of the CALAX by around 2022 should increase player traffic, improve profitability, and allow the club to develop and maintain the courses and facilities even better. If you live near ER and love playing a wide variety of courses, it's a no brainer.

Eagle Ridge is made up of 4 courses: 1. The Andy Dye - By far the nicest and most breathtaking. It is also the most challenging with long holes, very small, very well defended greens and fiendishly difficult bunkers (sometimes 5 meters deep). It is absolutely worth playing if you want a challenge but take a stock of balls as there is a canyon winding around the course which seems to attract balls. The course if beautifully maintained and uses electrical buggies that are really nice and smooth. 2. The Faldo - Also a very nice course that makes use, on some holes of the canyon crossing the grounds. The Faldo is a difficult course for the occasional player. It is ok for good players. Holes are quite long but fairways are generally wide and if your drive is good, you can score. The Faldo is the "members' course" so expect to wait at each hole if the course is busy 3. The Aoki - This course is pretty and very pleasant to play, without being too difficult. The description on the website says the greens can be very difficult to read but I did not experience that. They are slightly faster than the other courses but still relatively slow. 4. The Norman - A relatively easy and short course which is great for high handicappers and a great intro to Eagle Ridge if you plan to play multiple courses. The design is quite boring though with none of the impressive sights from the other courses In general: very good maintenance. The grass on the green is the same as on the fairways however and makes for a rough putting experience Now for the Clubhouses: 1. The Andy Dye course has its own club house, recently renovated and very pleasant which served (at the time of visiting) a basic Korean buffet for lunch. It is managed by a separate (Korean) team and they do a good job 2. The Aoki Clubhouse is a very impressive Japanese style building which could be a really nice place to hang out if it were not in total disrepair. The locker rooms are a disgrace: dirty onsen pools, ceiling falling down, hot water in only a few showers. The rest of the building is the same: dirty Japanese gardens with junk, plastic chairs in the restaurant, decrepit pro-shop, etc. 3. The main clubhouse, besides being painted a horrible pink shade that is flaking everywhere is the same as the Aoki clubhouse: it was great when it was built and has been left unattended Food and drink options need to absolutely be improved. Service in restaurants is very average (a lot of staff for very little attention) Now for the staff/organisation: The staff are super friendly and helpful but frankly this course needs some real management: 1. There is only one driving range for the four courses, it is close to the Norman and the Faldo, but far from the others. They charge a fee of 250 PHP per hour, even if you have paid 3000PHP to play a course. Staff, including your own caddie, looks at you like you are an alien if you want to go warm up at the range before playing 2. The fact that there are 3 clubhouses is not managed properly: I played 4 days in a row and left my bag at the club overnights. Given that some clubhouses are closed some days of the week, it made a mess when I tried to claim my bag left at the Aoki the next day as the Aoki clubhouse was closed 3. After paying more than 3500 PHP to play on the Faldo (more expensive because it is the "members' course"), I was told by the started that I couldn't play it because it was members only. Then, when I said I had a booking and paid, they let me play 4. There is a lot of staff hanging around but no marshall to handle slow play Overall the courses are absolutely worth playing but the game experience is spoilt by the poor condition on the clubhouses, amateur organisation and poor catering. A final note: it looks like this property was part of a gigantic Real Estate project in the late 90's that collapsed after the Asian Financial Crisis: there are not gorgeous houses, only a few mediocre, mismatched buildings...

We rented the badminton court, table tennis and also went bowling. The court was dusty and windy so our game in badminton was difficult. Bring your own rackets as they do not have rentals. The table tennis room is dark and if you want them to turn on the lights, there's an additional P500 (ridiculous). The pool is for kids, the deepest is at 5ft. The bowling center is old, I find my ball suddenly shifts direction when playing. There was an instance, the pins were taken by the machine without throwing the ball yet. Water costs P50 for the 50ml bottle, ludicrous if you ask me. The average meal prices in the restaurant is around P350. I ate the rice bowl, in all fairness, the serving is big. The shake however was advertised as P120 but upon paying, they charged us at P150 plus service charge, very deceiving indeed. Will never go back to this place.

OK - this is a great example of golf courses that are available in the Philippines. It is not 1 course, it consists of 4 courses and currently 2 clubhouse. Each course offers something different - so you can easily spend a couple of days here to test you golfing prowess. AOKI - the course is very popular with people from Korea, to me the testing point is tbe Greens they are very fast and have many indications. NORMAN - the course is quite open and as some interesting holes, the greens are not as fast as Aoki, but still have their challenges. FALDO - this course tends to be tighter and is also the longest of the 4 courses. Again some interesting holes with again testing greens DYE - have not played this but the general saying is you Die on Dye - the bunkers are the most challenging. The fairways throughout all courses are very well maintained and the rough tens to be manageable, but beyond that there are many out of bounds. The greens again are generally testing and in some cases quite large. The greens tend to be quite receptive of you come in from a height, however low and you can easily over shoot. The bunkers are the most disappointing as they are not maintained or raked apparently this is due to COVID and yet other courses locally do take the bunkers - so not really sure of the strategy here. The water hazards are very well placed and on many occasions I front of the green or to the left. They are usually steep ravines so once you go over the light rough you are in trouble. Like most courses you have to have a caddy with you, they repair the divots and know the course very well. I had a lazer finder and the caddy was usually 1 to 3 yards out only. The golf carts I have used are of good quality, but there is not sat nav as you have the caddy. The caddies by the way are not allowed to go on the cart and have to walk, which is a bit fierce for them. The main clubhouse supports the Norman and Faldo courses and is very large although most of the facilities are not accessible due to COVID. The Aoki clubhouse is more basic and the Dye clubhouse is not finished at the moment. Aoki and main clubhouse as golf shops, bar facilities, washrooms and food options. To be honest the food option is very basic and is not as good as other nearby courses. The administration is based in the main clubhouse and manages the handicaps, membership enquiries and other golf related enquiries. The practice facilities are very good with putting greens, bunker practice and chipping areas and driving a range that links between Norman and Aoki. On arrival, you are allocated a cart slip with number, you complete a COVID questionnaire and then the club insert onto their database. After this you make your payment and are issued a reciept you present at the starter hut. As there is currently no bag drop you use your cart to collect and stop off your clubs at your car on the car park. You meet your caddy on the way or at the starters point - where they take your reciept and return the unused sections. As a visitor you have to spend 300php on consumable which you can use on the course or back at the club house. To get to the course it is about 1 hour from Manila depending on your location - the road network to the course is reasonable and when you access the location you have to go through 2 security checkpoints - just inform security of the purpose of your visit. I have played on a number of high quality courses around the world and certainly Eagle Ridge is up there with them. Cannot give 5 stars I am afraid due to the quality of the food and the lack of bunker attention.

Here is one of the best golf courses in the Philippines. I also love their Kaldereta sa gata and the healthy guyabano shake that they serve at the Main Clubhouse.

As an avid golfer, and someone that has played plenty of golf around manila ( foreign guest ) i was disappointed playing at eagle ridge ( andy dye course ) foremost the rating of 2 stars was only because the course lay out of andy dye was well designed and is challenging and the course was semi maintained, unfortunately the design of multiple fairway bunkers and greenside bunkers would have been exceptional if actually maintained properly and wasnt just dirt on some holes. Further more, the experience it self from getting there to leaving was just sub par to other courses, for a 5k price tag for foreign visitors i was expecting more after playing so many other courses. -club houses look old and run down, the andy dye club house isnt even functioning at all so teeing off we had to start on the 7th hole instead of the 1st, ( as we had to go to a different club house ) - the golf carts provided were old. Old is not a problem but the carts were filthy, even though wiped by caddies i still had to use a brand new towel to wipe the seats and dirt came off. ( this is a turn off from the start, we wear nice clothes just to have them dirtied ) - non existent bag drop considering the price they charge, ended up having to drive the old cart to my car then drive all the way back -check in was terrible and slow, only cash, card machine wasnt working and the cashiers were over charging the prices that was messaged to me when booking, so already had brain damage before starting the round - No warm up range for a course that charges 5k for a round. -when playing the round encountered groups of 5 and 6 people which slowed the game down drastically and had to wait 10-15 min per hole just to hit the next shot. Not a problem with big groups but the lack of knowledge they have is dismal as they didnt even want to let any one pass until the tee house and i was in a group of 2. The club should be making sure smaller groups can play theyre round. But i mean they're are barely any workers on the course. Moreover, by far unfortunately one of the worse courses ive played in the philippines and this is just a combination of things, realistically it was only worth paying 2k for the round if that due to all the problems encountered. Furthermore, once again the lay out of the andy dye course was exceptional, you can see the design idea when creating the 18 holes but the courses seemed to be half maintained as there are 4 in that area. Eagle ridge is just old and run down, maintenance doesnt seem to be in the vocabulary, and the carts were a let down old is okay. Dirty is just clubs laziness to maintain. And unfortunately, my caddie was really nice but she didnt even score properly and missed holes and filled it out later with wrong scores which made means i didnt even know my score.

Visited their Main Lounge and ordered Clubhouse sandwiches to go. The staff were very polite and accommodating. One security guard and the Headwaiter were happy to see my friend who frequented the Lounge since way back.
