I expected more for the price tag! I can't say that we had a bad stay at Escala, but I just don't see that the hefty price tag is justified. Upon entering you have the amazing pool with the great view. But soon you also notice the cracks in the walls, the dirty edges, and some removed chipped paint here and there, see my photos. The rooms are good and clean, but also not worth the rate. The mattress on the bed was very hard despite a topper and the interior furniture wasn't super high quality as well. I liked the shower though and the smell of the shower gel and shampoo. The breakfast was very Filipino. This isn't good or bad but someone should just know it, particularly if you are a foreigner. Again, for the price point, there should be some more variety and things like cheese , cold cuts etc would have been reasonable. The pool was great, the cold water was actually refreshing and of course, the view was the highlight. So in total: you pay for the view and the pool, nothing more, nothing less. Even though I still enjoyed the stay, I won't come back.

Overrated and overpriced... You get one and a half things of value from this property: one is the view which is great and the half is the pool. The pool is half because the water is so cold that very few people could stand to stay in the water longer than it took to take a picture. I watched over 20 people either use the pool for long enough to talk a self / pics or test the water temperature and just use the side of the seating area for their pics. The room was decaying and dirty in multiple places especially the carpet, chair and paint on the walls. Parking is a complete mess with barely enough spaces for guests and a parking lot design so poor that some of the end spaces can't be used because cars can't get around the corners if the end spaces are used. Stopper (plug) in the bathtub randomly pops open without being touched causing the water to drain. Live music during the evening in the restaurant was so loud that it was impossible to have a conversation with someone at the same table. Food was adequate but we ended up using Grab Food and driving to nearby restaurants for most of our meals. Easy and nice walk to the Skyranch in the evening. So if you are looking for a great view and to swim in extremely cold water then this is a good place for you. Otherwise, save yourself a bunch of money by staying somewhere that provides greater value and hit one of the many observation spots to get some good pics. 3/10 and would strongly NOT recommend to stay here.

I gave 5 stars for service and that is specific to Food and Beverage. The staff was attentive and food was great. Overall, I am disappointed with the Prestige Room for the price I paid, it was not maintained well. The room was old, you can tell there was water damage, the water in the shower smelled at a certain time of the day. The bathroom walls looks dirty and not sanitized. I stayed in room 217.

It used to be a high rated hotel, but when we went back, the place looked like it was not properly maintained. There were molds everywhere in the CR near the pool, there were not enough pool towels and the towels didn't smell good, and the carpet in our room smells odd and not clean (evidence on our feet getting dark with dirt). On the positive side, there were enough parking spaces and the staff were all nice and approachable.

What else can I say?! Superb! 😍 The place is very beautiful and romantic too. The place is overlooking Taal volcano. Pros: it can cater couples, families, barkadas. They have a big function room for business or events. The place is really perfect for wedding preparations. The room is perfectly designed as well. They provide complete toiletries and will provide you with a small bag with mask, alcohol and wipes that you can bring along. Cons: Parking is not covered. So when it rains, it pours 😂🤣

The hotel is nice, the room really comfortable, the pool is amazing (little bit cold at our time, but that's the season), the spa and gym area are really good looking. But the restaurant doesn't correspond of the rest of the standing. It's near of a school cantina and they prefer to serve big quantity, not quality. This negative point can easily be changed and really make it a top hotel.

Overrated and did not live up to my expectations. Place needs A lot of TLC. Check-in took terribly long and the clerks didn't seem accommodating to us. Maybe if we give them tips, they'll be nicer but no way will I tip a clerk with that attitude. All in all, not worth it for the hefty price, you're simply paying for the view and the name. Reconsider other places around the area.

We just wanted to relax by our balcony, enjoy the cool breeze outside. They should have a sound-proof function room. And the curtains should be closed. The flashing lights and the loud sound are disturbing my peace. Not to mention, the ☎️ line in our room, the lights in the mirror, and the hair blower are not working.

The food and the service is great..the staff are kind and accomadating. The room is clean. The pool and the weather is super cold. But for me, a little bit pricey for the room for a night if you will stay overnight.

We were there to have an ocular inspection for my son's wedding. Sorry for the word, amoy "utot" ang room we occupied.. smelly hallways, too much noise can be heard while sleeping ..Guests laughing boisterously at the verandas until 230am..( where were the security guards?) dirty comfort room. ; kulang kulang na towels; no coffee and tea available; for a very expensive price of a hotel, We will never go back at your hotel!. Of course nice view is superb, guven na yun because place location is strategically located really. but cleanliness and orderliness??👎👎👎 Bochi Santos , please have e a check on this please.Sayang ang hotel ninyo. Food is okay especially the kaldereta. plus corteous waiters. Buti na lang sa food bumawi bawi naman!😡😀

The rooms are so nice. We especially love the infinity pool although we hoped it was a heated pool because we were freezing when we dipped in the pool. We also love their breakfast buffet.

saw the exceptional rating at Agoda so went there with the whole family for a one night stay in Tagaytay. Bathroom: could use a little more cleaning, soap stains on the shower walls and black moldy stuff on the edges of the floor Closet: could use a little more cleaning Breakfast: tried to reserve seats for the whole family, the pretty receptionist refused to give us 11 seats seeing that only 2 of us are there at the moment. We explained that the rest will be joining and that we booked 4 rooms anyways, But to no avail. It made the whole experience worse. The breakfast buffet is decent, do not miss the pandesal and chicken tocino, even the brewed coffee is quite nice. We appreciated that most of the staff are friendly and helpful throughout our stay. Breathtaking view of Taal Lake from the buffet restaurant. Instagrammable! The spa smelled relaxing and those of us who went for massage were really rejuvenated. Also appreciated the care pack provided for each room (hand sanitizers and face mask in a pouch)

It's like a dream place to spend a staycation. It was quite pricey though but their service is exceptional. From the guards to the receptionists to the attendants, i couldn't ask for a better service. Kudos to Harold for assisting my BF when he sprained his leg. The only problem would be their website. All dates were soldout but we managed to book thru agoda like 2 days before our trip.

A great place to relax and unwind especially with all of these stressful happenings to date. the place offers a breath-taking "front seat" view of the Taal lake, comfortable rooms, ambient restaurant with night-time live performance accompanied with mouth-watering food which is offered at a fairly reasonable price. Talk about good stuff... (",)

Overall 4.5/5. The people, service, food, and amenities were perfect 5/5 . I gave 4.5/5 because there were a few small black spots in the room and a little water damage on the corner of the bathroom door frame. There was also a slight odor in the room that I didn’t mind but my girlfriend did. They quickly addressed this with an air purifier and some nice lavender essential oils. After that the odor was gone and it was comfortable. Everything else was perfect. Everything else was so perfect. We got a deep tissue massage which was the best massage I’ve ever had and the price was fantastic. We got into the sauna about an hour after the massage was done and it was literally the best sauna I’ve ever been in. I’m from the US and been in many saunas there and the sauna at this hotel was the better than all of the saunas I’ve been in. We enjoyed the pool and the beautiful views above and below it. The restaurant there was so good too. We got room service which was quick and good. We sat in the restaurant many times for dinner and lunch. Really good service and good. Nice selection. The free breakfast was so good too. Everything I ate was good and I didn’t get sick from anything . I would recommend.

Stunning view, comfortable and spacious rooms, good food. Overall stay was amazing. Room service was super quick. Infinity pool is superb, I love the idea of being magical at night.. My only comment is the pool should be heated. You can't even stay on the pool for 30 mins... it was really cold.

Check-in is at 2 pm or 4 pm. But when we arrived early, since our room was ready we were able to go to our room. Clean rooms. Disinfected and sealed. The staff is proactive, friendly, and nice. The food was great too!! It's such a waste that not a lot of people are here... but also so good. We felt safe. BREAKFAST TIP: 12 inch plates. BIG breakfast. Get the Filipino Breakfast. ❤ The pool, gym and spa wasnt open due to the pandemic. However, during our stay there were VERY LOUD guests and their laughs can be heard echoing through the entire hotel. At night. It was as if they thought they had the entire place to themselves.🙃🙃🙃 we werent the only ones to complain. We called twice and these guests didnt get it. 🙃Early in the morning they still laughed LOUD. The way the hotel is designed you can hear people in the balcony. I hope Escala has a policy about noisy and insensitive guests. We don't go to fancy hotels very often and we wanted to have some peace. The hotel isnt very cheap and its common knowledge that you mind other guests too. Everything was perfect except for those guests. We havent traveled since the pandemic and we have no regrets 'popping our cherry' here. We'll definitely be back!! (Sans those insensitive guests.)

i didn't try to search hardly, it was my fault. i just saw this hotel on facebook, we opted to stay here easily. we would agree this hotel is good quality, good interior. but service is terrible they didn't accept to swim, even they didn't have enough beer when we ordered beer. This is the worst hotel that i've stayed hotel in my life. it's just really expensive compared service. if i go to tagaytay, i will never stay in Escala.

Nice taal view. Pool was great. View from pool was the best. I liked that the place is very clean. They also use wood in their decor so it adds class to the place. Definitely a 5 star hotel.

The staff at the reception desk was not very responsive and I felt uncomfortable. The scenery was good, but the quality of service (amenity etc ...) is low compared to hotels of the same level. Book another hotel when you come here

Tbh I like this hotel and the view a lot but the front desk receptionist was terrible. I booked 9 rooms under my name. They received me 18,300peso as deposit. They ask me to bring the receipt to get my deposit when check out. But when I checkout I found someone I don’t know get my deposit. Actually I keep a big room for half day and I confirmed with front desk and I agreed to pay 30% extra rate for late check out. But when I back to hotel, someone took my deposit and she signed an affidavit of loss. For the exact room that I keep. Which keycard is on my hand. The hotel insist not to give me the deposit and after I left I’m asking to get the details but the hotel don’t give me. 9 rooms for one night plus deposit totally I paid 142,900. And it returned like this. VERY DISAPPOINTED.

If you're looking for the best fish and chips, this is the place. Comes with some of the best views of taal lake. Very clean and friendly staff. Enjoy a sunset dinner there it's worth it and we'll probably return again for another sunset. Perfect date night place and good prices for the area. Excellent & high class services!

Better come here not for the swimming pool during off-peak or not summer. The view from the infinity pool is majestic. Food was also nice, who wouldn't like breakfast with a view of Taal? Rooms was ok, not really anything worth getting 5 star for. Otherwise, you should spend your summers here to get the most out of the whole hotel's amenities, specially the pool. Otherwise you'd be diving in an icy dip.

We stayed to celebrate my best friend late bday and returning for vacation from the U.S. Their location is really an asset. The pool was magical at night, I just hope that swimming is extended until midnight. In addition, looking forward for it to be heated. They have restaurant upstairs but we’re not satisfied. The taste of foods were average. Though it offers a picturesque view of Taal. No problem with the food because the hotel was closed to different establishments.

Beautiful scenery and good service Parts that need improvement: There are often problems with the WIFI in the room, and there is often no data transmission It is recommended that the TV in the room can be replaced with a function that can project the screen of the mobile phone. When tourists don’t want to watch TV, they can watch youtube instead.

We booked a room here for Valentine's Day, and it didn't disappoint. We were given a room with an incredible view of the Taal volcano. It was truly breathtaking. The wait staff were very friendly and attentive. Our main waiter Andre was superb. We asked to check in early, and they accommodated since the room was ready. However we found out unexpectedly that our checkout time had been changed to 2 hours earlier because of this. Not a big deal, but nobody mentioned it. Overall the hotel was amazing and I would highly recommend to anyone staying in Tagatay.

Pros: - Offers an excellent view of Taal Lake and Taal Volcano - Great service from all the staff -- security guards, bell boys, reception, and restaurant staff were very polite, friendly, and accommodating - Follows proper health protocols - Very responsive to queries -- I sent a couple of emails prior to booking and always received a clear and prompt response - Great and varied food choices for breakfast Cons: - The bathroom was clean but there are a few stains in between the tiles in the shower area, likely a build up over time. - There is a funky smell coming from the drain in the shower area sometimes. It disappears once the exhaust is turned on but one would expect that there shouldn't be a smell in the first place.

Really really REALLY amazing views. We stayed in one of the rooms on the "third" floor, which is actually two floors down from the entrance at the pool level. It was the furthest out so we had a view off the cliff side that easily saw Mt. Taal, the water, and the town below! Gorgeous, stunning views. It was too cold until the last day to swim, but the pool lights up at night! The lights underwater even change color. The vibes were amazing. The buffet was alright, but since we woke early we were able to get a table by the side and see the view while we sipped coffee. We stayed at many hotels during three week stay in the Philippines, and this was our favorite. Finally, the spa was great. We got a hot stone massage (P1500) and a hand/foot massage (P900) during our stay and it was a great price for the value, because we woke up so refreshed. The room was so huge with a luxurious bathroom. Plenty of space for the whole family and my Lola enjoyed herself. The hotel is also a quick walk from nearby restaurants and SkyRanch, which was fun to check out. 10/10 would stay again.

the room is beautiful, the view is unreal, it’s clean, beautiful, comfortable, but I was very upset, I wanted to surprise the guy with a candlelit dinner, but they don’t allow candles to be lit even those that are safe in glasses, and they have no alternatives, the mood is terrible….

Booked directly, staff was very helpful depending on who you were talking to. Not all front desk staff will have consistent quality of response. All in all staff was very competent and courteous and accommodating. Booked a nicely located room. However, the door keeps getting left, ajar, thereby giving us security concerns while we were away on an event. Breakfast fare can be described as Pinoy/Asian but that's just about it. Overall wouldn't keep me from enjoying and giving my stay a good rating.

A nice staycation in Tagaytay... although partly hidden from the main road, the amenities more than make up for it! Has a picturesque view of Taal Volcano and has an inviting swimming pool ( how we wish it were heated ). The rooms are just the right size and the breakfast buffet is quite good. Recommendable, indeed! 👍👌👍

I only visited the pavilion but it's gorgeous and the bathroom are clean and spacious. The only issue for me are their ramps, it's so steep our van nearly scraped it's under bumper part, and it happened 2-3 times. Never experienced the hotel itself but they're really professional in hadling events. And their same day edit are so professionally done you won't actually believe they've edited it for like 2-3hrs only.

Rooms are clean but not that big (Deluxe Room) but can fit 3 people. The highlight of the property is definitely the pool. It has a view of Taal Volcano and Lake towards its edge. The service is top notch all around from the bell boy, to the security guards, to the restaurant staff and the front desk. I highly recommend staying at Escala for a Tagaytay staycation.

Spent my birthday staycation here during the pandemic. The covered parking is across the main hotel. There is a guard who will assist you. You have to sign a health declaration form & pass through temp scanner & disinfectant mist. A security deposit of 2000 is needed. Clean & used pens are separate. The pool at night is amazing at it has lights. Deluxe Room where we stayed was on L3. Amenities are tv with cignal cable, electric kettle, aircon, ceiling fan, blower, hot & cold shower, complete bathroom toiletries. Hotel Wifi & Personal sim ISP signal in the room is a bit slow or signal is weak. Breakfast was plated but has choices, filipino, sweets, american. We choose american. I love the waffles, tsokolate batirol & sausage. The bacon was a bit bland. Prices on the Bellissima restaurant is good for sharing. Pizza and pasta are not the best but has big servings. Waiters are very accommodating. Too bad we were not able to enjoy the pool & the scenery because it was foggy due to a typhoon. There is a gym but we did not use it. Downside of the room is you can hear the next room people if they are too noisy. Room has a pool view. No handtowel provided but all other toilet amenities are their. Will I go back? Yes.

The serving was great! The menu is mostly comprised of local cuisine which serving is enough for 3 to 4 pax. The price is relatively cheap considering the location and the serving. Hoping there will be more option in the menu next time.

We couldn't enjoy the pool due to the COVID restrictions. Nonetheless, we enjoyed our stay with a gorgeous view from the room and the restaurant of the Taal volcano and lake. Smart Tv in the room which you can login to your Netflix account. I only wished our room had a bathtub.

Have big hidden charges. Bed sheets have stains. The room is ordinary. Taal view and the staff are great though.

Broken toilet seat. They let us transfer room but the Elevator / lift was not working on the lower floor so we have to take stairs whenever going out.

This is one of the hotels that made me wow! The view is really great! A hotel in Tagaytay that will really give you a wonderful experience. You will see the city lights in the evening and you will see a beautiful view of the lake and some mountains. The pool is quite small and there are a lot of people it will be a bit crowded. Rooms are nice as well! 1 hour drive away from Manila and must book earlier because they are always full!

(Translated by Google) The hotel is very good and the staff is welcoming, a little expensive for the country but otherwise overall it is very good and comfortable. (Original) L’hôtel est très bien et le personel est accueillant, un peu cher pour le pays mais sinon dans l'ensemble c'est très bien et confortable.
