We stayed at the Family Cabana for 2 nights which costs Php 22,000 (400 USD) for my sister's wedding. The room and everything inside was old. There was mold in the bathroom. The toilet looks like it hasn't been scrubbed in a month. And the outdoor jacuzzi, which is the main feature of the room, had tons of black mud on it. My mother had to scrub the whole jacuzzi just so we could use it. Imagine paying Php 22,000 and having to clean the thing you paid for. The only room they keep clean and updated is the Murano room which is where couples do their wedding photoshoots which is where the hotel gets most of their positive reviews. They take time and effort to keep that specific room pristine and instagrammable but totally neglect the other rooms?? FEELS LIKE A SCAM OF A HOTEL. The only positive thing I can think of is the free breakfast is good. If you have Php 22,000 to spare, I suggest booking a 5-star hotel somewhere else.

We stayed at the Family Suite. Overall, the experience is very pleasant. Room is spacious. Bathroom is big. Excellent view of Taal. Most rooms have glass walls. The terrace is large. We even have our own dining table. The bed is comfortable. Sheets are clean. Aircon is powerful. Our room (good for 6 pax) only has 1 CR. The shower's water pressure is low. Probably better if the shower is the telephone type not the rain type. There's this local cat who's very friendly. She's extremely popular with kids. Breakfast served is great! Champorado is great - not too sweet. I find beef tapa the most special. In terms of value, the spanish sardines must be the best in value. Staff are friendly and quick.

The best hotel with a view in Tagaytay. The view is breathtaking. The service is superb! Food is great! Now I know why they are always fully booked the whole year.

The room above ours was very noisy most of the time you could hear footsteps . The food is not bad at all. Room and service is good as well. The view is fantastic from our room we had breakfast looking at the lake.

The view is very nice but the hotel is old and need a lot of remodeling. Kept running out of water in the room. To many cats in the area and always come around when trying to eat.

Quick note: providing my reviews considering the effects of the pandemic especially on reduced manpower in establishments, and less funds allocated for maintenance. Pros: 1. Great view. At least from the Family Cabana which we occupied. I think the same can be said for all rooms. 2. Quite new rooms. At least our room looks new, although don't expect a fully-hotel "feel" of the room as Carmelence may purposely be adopting their own theme (expect murals, wall/ceiling paintings, etc.) 3. Courteous staff. The venue (compound) is still home for the owners so expect a feeling that the staff are like serving guests as the guests of the owners 4. They offer service to decorate the room for special occasions like birthdays or anniversaries Cons: 1. Privacy. The rooms are positioned such that you can see the occupants of the other rooms. Even the ones on top can see the ones below. You would also notice non-guests (I assume they're part of the family who owns the place) lounging in the lobby area, so there's a feeling of less privacy 2. No noise cancellation. You can hear the occupants from the other rooms. So it's a problem if you want peace and quiet and if others are quite noisy even at day-time. 3. Overall upkeep of the compound. Do not expect a hotel-like feeling when you enter the compound (there's even no sign at the gate). Grounds, grass, and landscape unkempt, with quarters of workers greeting you as you enter the compound My family also reserved the family cabana so we can experience the jacuzzi as an extension of the room. However, I was informed a day before our check-in that the jacuzzi is not busted and not available for use. Upon expection, I think the jacuzzi has not beem functioning for a long time already. So if you are exploring to have the family cabana, you may want to confirm if the jacuzzi is working. I told the reception upon check-out that the venue has a lot of potential and would definitely go back once the amenities are a lot better. May be opting for the top room for more privacy. All the best!

Great location and view. Very accommodating staff with really good service. Decadent meals provided and have an in-room massage service. Jet tub is nice as well so good thing we brought bath bombs. Just want to mention two problems: (1) might want to put insect repellants around the area to avoid multiple insects coming in and control cat visits, and (2) fix bathroom as there's already problems with the shower and door. Overall, still good and might come back to stay in the sky suite next time πŸ‘

Room has dilapitated since my last stay, would be better if the room can be renovated. In terms of cleanliness, it's not as well maintained

The worst hotel I have ever been too. Although the view is very beautiful and staffs were nice but, the hotel itself is just eh, the room is definitely not worth its pay. When we first went in I saw a stain on the bedsheet, unbelievable! so unhygienic! and the main reason I give this 1 star is because of the bathroom, it is worse than the room, it looked so old and dirty, especially the shower it is just the worse, it looked so cheap and the bricks on the floor made it worse I have never seen bricks in a shower i’m my life. It also had a lot of bugs and insects, most especially COCKROACHES there would always be another one after the other and in total there was about 3 cockroaches. I’m writing this review while i’m still in the hotel so there would be for sure be more cockroaches when I wake up tomorrow morning, THIS HOTEL IS LITERALLY SO DISGUSTING. I couldn’t even shower cause the it was nasty, there were cockroaches and I was every afraid to go in there to brush my teeth and wash my face. I felt so uncomfortable and scared to go in that bathroom. LITERALLY MINEY DOWN THE DRAIN. NEVER AGAIN. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND. 🫢🏻

There are 2 carmelence villas. The older one is near meralco. But the carmelence view itself is located at 117 Tagaytay - Nasugbu highway. Price at regular rates for the suite is pricey but the view is worth it. About half of the room is glass! So you can see Taal 24x7. Location is very accessible. Breakfast is pretty good. Service is very good. Acceptable as it is. But if it goes at regular rates it will be pricey. The toilets and shower are frosted glass. Which I am not a fan of. Over all it is awesome for a couple, family bonding getaway.

View was excellent. Super soft pillows. The scent of their bed very nice. Food was great. You would love their beef tapa if you like your tapa sweet. Private toilet is huuuuuge. And the water pressure of the shower head is strong. Walls of room are made of glass. Love it! Over all we enjoyed our stay. It would be geat if they can maintain the neatness of their facility. More power to the owner!

Well the view was very fantastic as everyone said and the staff was accommodating. Those are the reason I give 3 stars. Basically we were paying the stay just for the view. The room was not cleaned properly. I found many long hairs here and there and the wine glasses on the fridge were smelly. The terrible thing was shower tap. Oh my god it was like a drizzle. The water pressure was very very weak. And theres no shower hose. Can you imagine how uncomfortable it is.

Love the place! At first we were lost when directed by waze at carmelance lodge, though it was equally clean upon looking at the outside, i was so were frustrated because it was on the other side of the taal view. Its a good thing that we were directed that carmelance view that it was on the other side. So make sure that you book at carmelance view. The rooms are clean and the veranda is perfect for appreciating the breeze and ofcourse the view. To avoid the traffic, you don't have to go out at dinner time to eat. They serve meals and must try their calamares.

Best place for staycation. Nice view on Taal Lake/Volcano. And very accommodating management & staff personnel. Food is okay & price is reasonable.
