Charito by Bag of Beans

Restaurant

👍👍 This may be the best restaurant I've been to in Tagaytay. Great selection of exquisite tasting food. Great fine dining experience, worth every peso! If you think the prices are steep, like you're paying for a family meal already, guess what, the serving portions are almost good for 2-3. Make sure... People often mention view, good, great, Taal, service, ambiance, coffee, lake, ordered, Tagaytay,

This may be the best restaurant I've been to in Tagaytay. Great selection of exquisite tasting food. Great fine dining experience, worth every peso! If you think the prices are steep, like you're paying for a family meal already, guess what, the serving portions are almost good for 2-3. Make sure you dine on their veranda because you'll be greeted with the most amazing view of the taal lake/volcano without sacrificing shade/rain protection and great ventilation. The staff are very accommodating and will cater to you professionally with a smile. Every facility is beautiful and clean. The parking is limited and you may have to wait but trust me, it's worth it!

Looking right over the active volcano this restaurant had a great location. Food and service was on point. Beautifully plated. highly recommended for a meal with a good atmosphere.

We enjoyed our lunch, the food was great. The roast beef sandwich wasn't dry or over cooked, with home made mustard to add a zing and pop flavor of the fresh veggies used. I think a must try meal. The carbonara was also packed with flavor and made just right. Cheesecake was also delicious, different from traditional blueberry cheesecakes found elsewhere. This is worth the visit when in the area. Servings are on the bigger side, one plate is likely good for two. My only suggestion is to add ceiling fans and or insulate the roof for outdoor dinning. I think our lunch would have been more enjoyable in the comforts of cooler and less broiling feeling temps when under the outdoor roof. It was lunch in late October when reviewing this and sunny. Other than that, the atmosphere and the decor/dinning areas were themed nicely. Another nice touch they added to the ambience and worth mentioning, was the fresh flowers at the tables. They could have used fake flowers but they did not, the little details make this experience that much more memorable.

One of the restaurants by Bag of Beans group. Their meatpies are the best, especially the Shepherd’s Pie. The place itself doesn’t look and feel as homey as the other branches, but we visited for the food.

The view is majestic! Make sure to request or book a table near the balcony to feel the immersive experience with Taal! The place feels, for me, like a private vacation home turned into a classic white mansion restaurant. The menu is pricey, and is expected, given the high quality of service, food taste/authenticity, and the scenic view. Every corner of this restaurant is instagram-worthy and irresistible. Driving to get there is quite easy since it is located along the road. On the weekends, they are usually fully-booked, but you may give them your mobile number so they could contact you when a customer vacates the table. In our case, it only took 10 minutes to wait outside.

The food is good, but some parts are not. They use regular oils, which make fried food greasy. For the ever increasing prices, one should expect high-quality oils as olive oil. Service staff is not that attentive. They don't keep an open eye to all tables, so it can take quite long before being attended to. Over the years, the service has gradually declined. Even requesting vinegar takes far too long, and one has to remind the waiter. Coffee hiuseblend used to be great. Now it bitter, and you have to basically beg for your refill.

Pros: It has an exquisite ambiance. Very-accomodating. Their deck has a view to bulkan-taal which can be seen below. They have plenty of dishes which is kinda hard to think 😂 especially if you are in low budget or matakaw Cons: Waiting time is long about a quarter time so just relax on the view. Pricey, not recommended for low budget but opposite for those who want to check the best view or if you can afford the dishes haha.

This is my go-to-comfort food whenever I visit Tagaytay with friends and family because the view of Taal Volcano/Lake is awesome. We were lucky to get the veranda seats. Food is always consistently good and big servings, however, service was slow due to lack of service crew attending to numerous customers. Overall experience is great! Will definitely come back and I highly recommend the place if you are looking for great comfort food.

came for an early morning breakfast to try the coffee. fantastic coffee, latte, and hot chocolate. 👍 i was really impressed. the banana pancakes we split were good, not too sweet, and plenty for two people. and the view was refreshing even if foggy. i would give 4.5 for slow service on what looked like a slow morning, but minor complaint.

This place is beautiful and the view of the taal lake and volcano is amazing! We ordered shepherds pie, seafood pasta and supreme pizza. The shepherds pie tasted good. It's just too thin. The layers of the beef and potato were both thin it's not the usual shepherds pie that I know. The pasta dish was my favorite. The noodles were fresh and cooked al dente. The italian tomato sauce was thick and rich. The seafood were all fresh and cooked really well. I finished the whole plate in minutes. Hehe! Pizza was okay for me. There were a lot of toppings and its just too much for me. I could've gone for a simpler pizza flavor. Aside from the ambiance the service was also top notch! Servers were all attentive and friendly.

nice view of the taal lake/volcano and w/ coffee on hand. the sundae was as expected, strawberry choco and vanilla are the flaves to choose from. the houseblend coffee’s strong and the ice blended mocha cappuccino’s okay but it was on the sweet side and the the blueberry cheesecake and the red velvet too was a lil sweet for my tastebuds.

There are around five bag of beans branches already in Tagaytay, but I believe Charito has the best view and vantage of the small Taal volcano. It is also the easiest and most comfortable to park in. Having shade and easy access is a big deal for me. It's not as new and clean as Twin Lakes is, but for the warmth and rustic feel, I'd go for here any time of day. Service is fast. Turnover of people is also surprisingly quick,or maybe that's the case for breakfast. There's a generous space for their pasalubong center, where they hid the restrooms for everyone taking a leak to definitely check out. Menu included in photos.

The food, ambiance and service are superb. Me and my sister had a great time as we had one of the best seats in the house. We were also able to secure a good parking spot. We loved the roast beef and seafood pasta. We also enjoyed blueberry cheesecake and carrot cake with cream cheese.

Definitely a place to check out when in Tagaytay. View of the Taal Lake from this renovated old house is spectacular. Food is Bag of Beans standard - but the view is what makes the trip worth it. Menu selection isn't that much, but for the items we ordered, everything was as delicious as we expected. It's not the cheapest place to eat at when in Tagaytay, but it's not as expensive as Josephine's or Taal Vista Lodge. Good food, good view, great ambiance. Check this out when you're in the area!

Our place to be whenever we go to Tagaytay to have breakfast. They’ve got nice ambiance and great view of Taal Lake. The food selection is great as well, specially their hand tossed pizza is the most recommended one. Reasonable prices I must say.

Roast beef was great. The pizza was surprisingly tasted good. However, the service was a bit slow from taking orders, serving the order and and payment. Glad that the view of Taal lake got my attention. The ambiance is great. The price is affordable for a nice place and great taste of food for its serving size. A good place to catch up with friends while enjoying the nature’ view. I will go back again to try other menu.

✅✅✅ Very nice ambiance: Few people especially on weekday mornings. ✅✅ Food serving & coffee: Big servings, good for two. Caesar Salad and House blend coffee is very good. ❌ Price: On the expensive side. Be ready to spend 1k+ per person for full meal. ❌ Frozen blueberry cheesecake: Not so good for me, cream cheese is more cream than cheese. It's more of cream pie. Maybe the baked one is better?

Dragged my SO to eat out for our mini year ender together. Food tasted okay, selection is great though. They have shepherd's pie and i loved it. Carrot cake was perfectly balanced. Breakfast sampler is good for two. Ambiance is perfect for dates or family occasions. Service wise the waiters were snappy initially but when we transferred tables we weren't attended to that much, they also forgot to set our table with a candle come night time.

Bag of Beans Charito is always our first stop whenever we visit Tagaytay. The view and food are really worth it. So you’re paying for the food with a bonus scenic view of Taal Volcano. I think I celebrated my birthday 4x here. Try their roast beef, it’s really delicious and tender.

Good food. Wonderful ambience. Just a quick warning to customers who use senior citizen or PWD card, double check in the receipt if the discount was really taken into account. My parents provided their senior citizen cards but upon receiving the bill, it turns out that they weren't able to apply the discount. Good thing I checked before paying.

Branch of Bag Of Beans that has the best view of the majestic beauty of Taal volcano. This branch serves food that tasted so-so. NO wow factor. We should have visited the one we always go to - BOB @ Twin Lakes or the one in Robinson's Summit Ridge.

I celebrated my birthday here and it couldn’t be any better. Food servings are incredibly for sharing. We ordered bulalo, pancakes, ribs and others. Flavor and taste are really worth the price. On top of it, the ambiance is really good. Taal lake is visible and the interiors are also really captivating.

We visited on a Friday, around lunch time. I really love the view from this place. There’s abundance of fresh air too. Their staff is really nice and attentive to the needs of the guests. We had baby back cribs, fish and chips and Caesar salad which were all really tasty and filling. They have big servings and fair prices. Their restaurant really is beautiful and elegantly decorated. I even love their tiles.

Always drop by here almost monthly and food quality stays consistent. Place is clean, pretty and great view by the veranda. Great service too and the manager always approaches us to check on our orders. In case you have a dog, they allow pets too!

Come for the view and hot chocolate, steak and mushroom pie . Skip the pancakes. Service can also be better. Went to the cashier to pay via debit and since they were busy talking to the other servers, I was still encoding my pin when the cashier pulled the pos terminal while I wasn't done (not the best way to treat paying customers)

One of the best views of Taal lake can be found here. It has its own parking, away from the usual riot of Tagaytay. Doesn't feel crowsed at all. Food is great, service impeccable. Try the Shrimp Alfredo Pizza

‼️HONEST REVIEW‼️ 10/10 FOOD: The hot chocolate was superb! because you can really smell and taste the cocoa. It is more than what I was expecting. We also ordered pizza and it is a total must try! 9/10 SERVICE: The staffs were kind and accommodating. 9/10 PLACE: Because the space is quite large, you can enjoy the view while having a private conversation without being concerned about those around you.

The food is excellent and the service worthwhile. Waiters are averagely attentive but are accomodating with their approach to customers. The total ambience, the view, plus the food gives Charito by Bag of Beans its perfect rating coming from me. Will definitely come back to dine and visit again soon. Mabuhay po kayo!

It was gloomy and rainy so we couldn't see Taal. However, the ambiance was still great. We ordered House Blend coffee, tea, Blueberry pancakes and slices of Carrot cake and Red Velvet. Food was great! They provide pot for the tea so you can share it. The coffee we ordered were not piping hot though. I was looking forward to sipping hot coffee in cold weather. Instead, we hurriedly sipped our coffee as it had cooled down quickly.

We ordered a few and the total came out to over 6,000 php. I think it's great for its price, but the extra rice costs 50 pesos. So if 10 people got one rice each, it'd be 500 php already. But the food quality is justified. It's delicious, and somewhat good for its price. The ambiance is cool, it's a good place to dine in.
