    You can't go wrong with Panera Bread. I've been to this particular location many, many times when I was in school. It's a great place to meet friends to study, have business meetings, go on dates, or just go alone for a nice quiet time. The food is great, and the coffee and selection of teas, lemonade, juices, and more is unbeatable. Pictured is the sausage and pepperoni Flatbread and a bread bowl soup.

    There was signs and all the registers that I had to use the kiosk. I asked the girl behind the counter if this was the norm...she said not always. I left without any purchase. If I'm going to do part of their job for them, then they need to lower the price. Instead I went to Royal Donuts on State rd and got my sweet tooth satisfied. Where is I was are greeted and waited on by a person.

    Everything was fine but when I walk i to a place and you just keep looking at me at least say someone will be with you shortly I mean the glares and stares were ridiculous just open your mouth

    Disclaimer I also worked in the food industry. Off the bat the coworkers weren’t doing their job, chasing each other around listening to music when I was the only customer standing waiting for service. after the workers noticed someone (me) was watching, a female worker helped me. When I placed my order no one was ahead of me and I ordered two pick 2’s which took them well over 15 minutes to prepare. With three workers making orders including a female shift manager, i audibly heard them making fun of my order saying things like “this sandwich is ass” “who would order this” and the female manager agreeing, saying things along the lines of “I totally agree”. After eating longer than I should’ve, I left and immediately wrote this review. This place doesn’t even deserve a single star.

    Horrible experience the employee at the counter was busy although she saw me but didn't come to counter till I asked her to place an order. Secondly, there were no one in the kitchen to prepare the food. I wait over 5 minutes then went back to the register to ask if there are anyone to make the food. A Manger appeared from the back and proceeded to go to prepare my order. No sorry rude attitude. Will never return there. Super unfriendly and rude staff and management.

    If I could give it a zero star I would! And that sucks cause I use to love this Panera but I’ll literally drive the miles to another location before I ever go here again. Poor customer service poor food quality, they don’t even call the order out anymore they just let it sit there on the counter until someone ask about it. I order a latte and it took 25 mins to receive. Hopefully gets better cause it’s so close to my house. Low staff is one thing but bad customer service is another.

    Totally overpriced for all of the food items. Portions are so small yet the prices are outrageous. Any menu item you can get from a local restaurant are better in terms of quality, amount and taste. After today’s visit for the large broccoli Mac and cheese for $10.79 which was 12 oz of product I will never return. Had I looked at my order in the store I would have requested a refund and left the product there.

    Never have I ever had such an awful experience with this Panera or any others. A few times a sandwich was made wrong, today, my order was 45 minutes late, the ice had completely melted into my drink, my soup was cold, and it was the WRONG soup. The only way to get the correct order would have been to reorder and pay again. I already paid 27$ alone for just me. The “manager” was a complete waste of time, and Panera should think better about firing him. He did not handle the situation well. He was hesitant at first, and when I asked for the manager he put me on hold for about 3.5 minutes and then tells me that he’s the manager. I find that very hard to believe. I don’t have a car today, hence why I got delivery. I know, it goes through doordash. I called when my order was 30 minutes late asking about it. I’m never going to this Panera ever again. I ordered the cheddar broccoli soup and got some southwest soup. How do you mix those up? And the way they have to take your card number over the phone for a refund and told me he would get to it when he gets to it. No, I want that processed now. If my money isn’t returned by next Thursday, I’ll be sure to call again. This is absolutely the WORST experience I’ve ever encountered. I made sure he processed the return with me on the phone, who knows if he even did it.

    Zero service here. No one ever greets you or says “hi’, ‘thank you’, ‘be right with you’. The bare minimum it should take to deal with people. They now keep your rapid pick ups behind the counter, but no one is behind the counter (because you have to order through a kiosk). I had three people walk by me yesterday never saying a word while I stood 4 ft. From my order. If the staff is going to ignore people, go back to leaving our orders where we can grab them. Managers are just as bad. I can’t believe this location is still open.

    No matter what Panera location I've been to the food is pretty consistent. The service of this location in particular wasn't so great though. Overall their breakfast items seem to be a much better value than the lunch items.

    Panera is one of my favorite places to go when road-tripping. This one needs a helping hand. Visible drain flies in bakery area. I love Green Tea but why is the dispenser suspect? A bit concerned as the pandemic hasn’t been kind. Please go work for an amazing chain🙏🏿🥰

    I ordered the Mediterranean bowl and below is what I got. I don’t really know what else to say aside from the fact that I paid $12 and half the bowl isn’t even filled. The majority is simply yogurt which is not what I ordered. Horrible.

    Almost every table was dirty and there dead bugs on the windowsill. They got my order wrong. They did not give me bread for my sandwich. When I questioned it they argued with me about it. I finally had to ask if I could just have bread. They seemed put out and very unhelpful with assisting me.

    I have not had a single bad product from this particular Panera. For being a higher traffic store, the staff are remarkably responsive to customer needs. Wait times are minimal.

    I go here a lot because it is on my way to a customer. I buy Bagels often.They are way understaffed. You MUST order from their Kiosk or App which I use. Their Kiosk is dumb and hard to use. People get frustrated with it. Panera needs to fix this. Their app is better but still not user friendly. I use it all the time and still struggle with it, especiallyif I use kiosk. Not user friendly. I see the number of people here fewer and fewer. I'm starting to use other places more where the enter the order and have more selection of cream cheeses. Not the staffs fault

    I come here frequently and am used to the staffing issues (call offs/lack of training etc) but today an employee named Martha was having a long rant behind the front counter within earshot of everyone. She was VERY unhappy with her customers that don’t feel comfortable using the kiosks (other reviewers on here indicate these are not user friendly for everyone), and also unhappy with the staff. I really do understand today’s workplace issues, and I sympathize with her, but the public complaining was really over the top. Two stars for today, because I would normally give this location a 3 (3.5 were that a choice.)

    Placed order online, my bank card was charged. Received notification several minutes later that order was canceled but no reversal of my funds. Went into Panera to pick up order since I thought it was a glitch since I was charged. I was asked did I choose the right store for my order (I sat in the parking lot of the store to place order, so yes I had the correct location) then was asked to show my phone to provide order number and also my online banking activity. They didn’t have the order. Initially was asked was an order that contained sandwiches and soup was mine. I could have easily said yes and walked out with someone else’s order. I just wanted my order of a bowl of soup with chips. I was in the store about 15 minutes or so for Lynn to let me that there was no order and to log back out of my account and log back in to see if it was reversed. The charges were still there. Since everyone behind the contour was dumbfounded, I ended up paying twice for a total of 17.58 for a bowl of wild rice w/chicken soup. Since the both charges did clear my account, I had to dispute the double charge with my bank. This was my first visit to the Independence location and certainly my last. These type of situations make you question that if you were someone else would the outcome have been different, a more favorable manner towards the customer.

    Laura worse cashier ever! I ordered an Asian sesame chicken salad and she gave me an Asian crunch salad instead. Never acknowledge me I had to ask her are you taking orders and she just stood there and looked at me like I was growing horns. I don’t think this is a good working place for her to be around people. Not friendly at all and mad that I have a salad and don’t have time to take it back that I did not order….

    The food is fine, but the ordering kiosks make the whole experience more industrial and less welcoming. We scrolled through screen after screen of beverages looking for something with no caffeine, but never found a way to just order tea, and with lots of other customers waiting to order we gave up and spent $3 on a juice box.

    Ordered a Latte and a muffin. Waited to get order. The women that ordered lunch after me received her order first. Then they told me my order was up. There was just a Latte and no muffin. I asked for my complete order and The young Man said you have to go back to the counter to get it. Now there are two people in line and you have to wait. At no time do they te you when you pay for the food to go get your Latte and then come back and we will get your muffin. What a joke procedure. So frustrated that I just asked for a refund. Counter person looks at me and says I can't do that. I told him to get someone that can. He gets the manager Justin and he tried to give my $2.99 back when paid $9.28 for the two item. Customer Service is number one. They failed big time. Both had attitude and they can do that if they want because I had a very bad attitude toward them. Panera needs to figure out a better system then making people wait in line twice for their order. Just needed to vent because I know Panera won't do anything about it.

    Good lunch of chicken noodle soup and new Asian crunch salad. I wanted tomato soup but it was popular today and wasn't hot when my meal was being prepared. I substituted the chicken noodle.

    If I could give 0 Stars I would! Found hair on my sandwich and a piece of plastic in my soup. Called and spoke with manager Sara, she said there was nothing she could do unless I returned back with the food. It wouldn’t have been a problem except I was on my lunch break which was over by the time I called the restaurant. I won’t ever eat from this location again!

    Costumer service just doesn’t care anymore! We are paying customers! We as paying customers EXPECT our orders completed correctly! When we called… we had to travel back to them to get full sandwich. Would not deliver! Thank you for a great dinner Panera! We stopped buying from chipotle in Independence for same bad orders. Now Panera in independence is off our list too! Can’t expect good customer service anywhere anymore!!! Sad!!!! Received the replacement sandwich today. Got the full sandwich this time but filled with nothing again. Chicken Frantaga … thin spread of chicken on a thick bread with one thin slice of tomato and slice of onion. Waste of money! We will not be going back. SAD

    This panera smelled when I walked in. The food prep area was dirty. The dining room was dirty. The girl preparing the food had a guy standing next to her playing with her hair. Her hands had food like mayo and mac and cheese or dressing or something on them which was transferring to the food she was making.

    My food was pretty good, but while waiting for my food you could tell the staff behind the counter did not want to be there. I heard “why are all these people eating here” “where did they all come from” and “do you think if I… people would still eat here”. I could not quite hear the middle part. They also completed my order on the screen to lower their times even though my food was not done.

    Not a fan of ringing up my own order. I miss the customer service aspect of a transaction. Walking up to a kiosk and waiting for someone to place your on a shelf aggravates me. There is zero service at this location. Not a welcome. Not a thank you. We should be allowed to go behind the counter to grab our own food. Other than that, the food was good. LOL. I won't be going back to this location.

    Earlier today before 11am, I tried to order lunch through the panera app. When the order was done, the app said pick it up tomorrow at 6:40am. I called to clarify this issue, and I spoke to a woman there. I'm not sure if it was an employee or manager, but she was rude and mean. She even yelled at me. She told me that they're short staffed and that I would have to come in to order. I didn't know that this location was short staffed. I'm sorry to hear, but even though it can be stressful for being short staff, there's no excuse to take your anger out on a customer. I never had an issue with this Panera location until now.

    This restaurant is an enigma to me. I've been to many different Paneras, but this is the ONLY place that will post orders will be accepted only through their kiosk with a person standing at the register not doing anything. Often, when I come for lunch I don't have an issue as someone will take my order without a problem, but not the dinner hours. So, if you don't know how to navigate the kiosks, or can't get someone to help--don't try here.

    The first time I went the food was 15 minutes late from my online order. The 2nd time the quick pick up was empty so I sat down and waited about 7 minutes then went and asked an employee and my order was sitting on a rack behind the counter. The online order said to pick up at the quick pick up...not that difficult people do what you tell people you will do. Good food though.
