Because of the pandemic, like many businesses in Huaraz, Paulino's was closed for 18 months and was dearly missed during that time. But luckily Paulino's is now back at a new location and is better than ever! The new restaurant is located on Huaraz main street, Avenida Luzuriaga, on the second floor with great views of Parque del Periodista, it is a very cosy space with excellent ventilation. The staff is as friendly as ever and pay particular attention to hygiene, which is much appreciated. The cost of living in Peru has increased substantially since the pandemic, but Paulino's, despite having somewhat increased its prices, has managed to remain extremely affordable. The lunchtime menu (served between 12pm and 4pm) now costs S/15 soles and includes all the favorites (chicken curry, lentil curry, chickpea curry, spinach curry, saffron noodles, etc.), as well as some great new additions (chicken biryani and a large selection of vegetarian/vegan dishes). It offers great value for money as it includes rice, chapati bread and an orange drink. The a la carte dishes are slightly more expensive, but the portions are bigger and the variety and quality of starters, main dishes and breads is astounding and suitable for everyone - meat eaters, vegetarians, vegans, celiacs, kids, spice lovers or not as the level of spices can easily be adjusted to your liking. Don't miss it, it is the best Indian food I came across outside of India!

The food at Paulino’s is absolutely amazing! We went three times during our stay in Huaraz (and immediately after one of our treks, because that was exactly the food we were longing for). If you go for the Menu of the Day (there are many options; both vegetarian and with meat) it’s super cheap and we got extra rice for free as well. One of the best places we’ve went outside India!

Honestly, one of the tastiest butter chicken ive had. Na’an is thicker than usual but very fresh. Great veggie dishes. I’m not a huge fan of their biryani’s because it’s catered to Peruvian style but it’s still tasty

Daily menu for S/15, reasonable portions, veggie options as well. Friendly staff and relaxed atmosphere in the center of Huaraz. However the taste is not so rich and quite average. There are better indian restaurants in Peru. I always asked for extra spicy, but everytime it was far from being hot.

Ate here three times already. Great food at a gold price with many vegetarian and vegan options. Amazing if you like Indian food or are feeling like a break from traditional South American dishes during your travels:)

I don’t understand the good reviews. The waiter was lovely. But there is so much they could do to make the restaurant nicer - it feels like you’re sitting in an empty room. The ‘biryani’ was essentially Peruvian arroz con pollo (nothing like biryani) and the chicken curry was nice, but not close to authentic Indian. Neither dish was served particularly hot. It was a nice change from Peruvian food, and the flavor nice, but if you’re wanting authentic Indian you’ll be disappointed

First visit we waited so long for food but it was good when it finally arrived. The menu del Día is such good value. Would recommend if in Huaraz. Closest curry to back home we've had since travelling.

The food is absolutely incredible, some of the most delicious Indian food we have had throughout Central and South America. The Menu del día is super cheap, flavourful and filling. They have an excellent range of both vegetarian and non vegetarian options as well. Highly recommend this restaurant for delicious and cheap food. The only low light, the service is very slow and can be hard to get the waiters attention.

After a mixed experience with an Indian in La Paz, I decided to play it safe with - Indian Butter Chicken - a dish that was well reviewed and one which I knew well. It was delicious! The rest of the table ordered pakora, paneer, beef vindaloo, garlic naan and chapattis and loved it! Also, the portion sizes were grand and the price was good at 28-32 for a curry with rice. I am surprised to find such an awesome Indian restaurant in Peru where there is no much of an Indian community. I would happily recommend this restaurant and hope that I have the opportunity to come back for their menu del día (12-4) which is only 15 soles and comes with a curry, rice, chapatti and drink.

Came here for a lunch and we were very happy with what we had ordered and tried. They have a set menu however we decided to choose from the vast lists of different curries which was a challenge! We went for the beef bharji to start (ones enough to share between two!) and then we had the chicken pineapple curry and a fish masala both come with rice. We also had an additional sides of garlic roti, chutney and a lovely refreshing yogurt salad. The staff were friendly and attentive, they even allowed us to access to the Wi-Fi so we could watch the rugby World Cup! Atmosphere is more like a canteen rather than restaurant, there is no decoration and very dull. Would advise the restaurant to maybe decorate with an Indian theme to really take the experience up a level! It’s a great place to come if you want to try something different.

Best Indian food I’ve had in South America, I went four times in two weeks. Heaps of flavour and big serving sizes. Lots of veggie and vegan options too which is hard to find! Menu was great value.

After spending a lot of time in India, we’ve missed having good Indian cuisine. Thus we were thrilled to find this place. Really great mango lassi and baingan bathra - with sizeable portions :) would 100% come back!

Had absolutely delicious lunch for $8 at Paulinos today. There are several meat and non meat options you can choose from. The Veggie Curry was freshly prepared and came with Indian bread and a juice. Also the service was very quick and friendly!

Ordered butter chicken and naan. Naan they didn't have but ok. The butter chicken was just a generic curry. When I questioned them about it first they insisted that it's butter chicken, then finally admitted they are missing some ingredients for the sauce. But instead of telling me it's not available they make some BS sauce and hope it will fly. At least in the end they charged me just the menu del dia price as this generic curry dish is on there. But this kind of disrespect to the customer is disappointing. If they told me I would have come for it later and probably be able to leave a better review.

Very tasty Indian food. I’ve been to India 3 times and this restaurant is very authentic (for South America) so if you want vegan vegetarian options it’s perfect

Disappointing. We ordered a dhal, Paneer curry, naan and pakoras. The pakoras were the only good dish, the paneer curry was so sour I couldn't eat it and the dhal was not like any dhal we've ever had (not in a good way- dried out). Hate to leave negative reviews but was one of the worst indians we've had. However, on a positive their delivery service is very efficient.

Great food and awesome lunch offer (noon-4pm) for 15 Soles. Karahi chicken, Pokoras and the Chai Masala are fantastic. Service is very good. One of my fav places for lunch ( and dinner). Vegan dishes available!

Great lunch/diner for little money, about 25 sol for a full-sized dish. The curry is tasteful and a little spicy (we chose medium spice which I recommend).

Staff is really friendly (I only met one guy every time but he is the sweetest) and the food is good! I liked their paneer curries with local cheese and also the set lunch menu for 15 soles is a great deal and very tasty! Interior is very basic though

This is the perfect place to go for dinner as it has a heap of options whether you eat meat, are vegetarian, or are vegan. The food is so tasty, and the value for money is excellent. We were too late but they do an even better value lunch menu for S/15.
