Serenity The place is truly peaceful and serene. Spending some time there with your eyes closed can be truly magical. It's a 15 mins walk the parking but it's truly worth. The temple on the lower part is also worth taking a look. They have set up hot drinking water which is a great initiative by the government.

We visited Shanti Stupa in mid of Feb 2022. Since it is located on a height, there was still snow and it was quite windy. It’s one of the best places to catch sunset and I would recommend that you visit it in the evening around 4-4:30pm during winters as the sun sets early. Do carry a jacket in whichever season you go bcz this place is very windy. It also gives a beautiful view of the Leh city and surrounding mountain ranges.

Located at the top of a hill, Shanti Stupa is a peaceful place and gives stunning panoramic views of the Himalayas and Leh. The stupa was built as part of the peace pagoda mission. I just love the intricate design and the colour on the Stupa. Fabulously serene and impeccably fresh.

Very nice stupa. Build on a mountain top. You get to see beautiful view of leh city. It’s very close to Leh city and you can cover it before visiting hall of fame.

The view from the top is amazing. You can either walk up the stairs or get a car or bike to ride up the hill. The place Sareen and you will enjoy its stillness unless there are loud tourist nearby. It took took 20 minutes or less walk up the stairs and it is not that difficult but was steep climb I should say. I recommend trying it once. There is restaurant and meditation Center on top.

Shanti Stupa in Leh is an absolute gem that offers a serene and spiritually uplifting experience amidst the breathtaking landscapes of Ladakh. Visiting this stupa is not just a journey; it's a pilgrimage to peace. Perched on a hilltop, Shanti Stupa overlooks the stunning Leh Valley, providing visitors with panoramic views that are nothing short of awe-inspiring. The pristine white structure of the stupa against the backdrop of the rugged Himalayan terrain creates a scene of unparalleled beauty. The stupa itself is a marvel of architecture and spiritual significance. Built to promote world peace, it radiates an aura of tranquility that envelops all who visit. Whether you're a religious pilgrim or a curious traveler, the atmosphere here encourages reflection and a sense of inner calm. What makes Shanti Stupa even more remarkable is the journey to reach it. The short trek to the hilltop can be a bit challenging, but the rewards are well worth the effort. Along the way, you'll encounter prayer flags fluttering in the breeze, adding to the spiritual ambiance. It's a pilgrimage that not only nourishes the soul but also offers a glimpse into the local culture and beliefs. Moreover, the sunset and sunrise views from Shanti Stupa are nothing short of magical. The play of colors in the sky against the stark landscape is a photographer's dream and an unforgettable experience for all who witness it. In conclusion, Shanti Stupa in Leh is a must-visit destination for travelers seeking not only natural beauty but also a spiritual and serene experience. It's a place where you can connect with both the grandeur of nature and the peace within yourself, leaving you with lasting memories and a profound sense of inner harmony.

One of the go to place under local sightseeing probably on your day two of the beginning of the trip. The Shanti Stupa is on a hill top that gives a perfect birds eye view of the city. The calm drizzled by the prayer chants in the air is also a perfect way to end a day tour of Leh.

It is the most famous tourist attraction around Leh. It's architectural style is different from the Ladakhi style. It overlooks the city of Leh, providing panoramic views of the city, the village of Chanspa, Namgyal Tsemo in the distance and the surrounding mountains. Sunrise and sunset are considered to provide the best views from Shanti Stupa. The Stupa is open for tourists between 8:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m.

It's always good to be here whenever in Leh. Apart from the inner peace that one gets here once he/she is here is something that's hit one differently. Another plus point from the location per se is the panoramic view of beautiful Leh City and the snow clad mountains in the distance that one can view throughout the year. The only negative point here is the people that come here. Even after things have been written boldly about not to shout within the vicinity of the Stupa one can find many the so called literate people shouting loudly as if it's a fish market.

This place is so peaceful and so great that one can easily fall into the love and beauty of the peace and natural whispering here. This place is not easy to forget. The restaurant is very economic and provide great taste. Don't be in hurry and sit in meditation hall for a while. You will feel the Magic here.

Amazing palace to visit, very nice views of mountains like first mountain is in light colour second one is in darker and third one is covered with snow. Another side area is covered with long green trees. Mountains are covered with clouds and some where you can see rainbow 🌈 also. Must visit this place when you go at leh. Amazing experience.

One place to never miss when you go to Ladakh! Visited after 10 years and the place is still as stunning and serene as ever. A beautiful view of the entire city. Try going at odd hours so the only thing you hear are the calming chants that play through the speakers!

One of the must visit place on your acclimatization days in Leh city. For the best view, visit during Sunset. The picturesque panoramic view and calmness in the air is so mesmerizing and overwhelming. Drive to Shanti Stupa is easy. Also there is cafe, where you can get some tea and snacks.

You may go to Shanti Stupa in the evening of arrival day if you are comfortable with altitude. It's near the city and got a beautiful view of the city from there. When we went it was raining and also you have to climb a little bit to reach up there.

Perched atop a hill, it offers a breathtaking panoramic view of its surroundings. The stupa’s pristine white structure and ornate carvings make it a sight to behold. Shanti Stupa is not only a place of worship but also a vantage point to admire the natural beauty that surrounds it. Whether you seek solace, want to immerse yourself in meditation, or simply appreciate the stunning views, a visit to Shanti Stupa is a soul-enriching experience.

Very peaceful calm and quite. I was lucky to go to this place when there was very less tourist. Really felt peace as if lord Buddha was really giving his blessing to the entire place. After visiting the temple sat for hours in the cafe with cup of Shahi Kawa. Very relaxing indeed while watching the mountains and having sipping the warm tea. Please do visit this place and try not to talk much and watch your phone then you will understand the healing effect of the place.

Shanti Stupa is a Buddhist white-domed Stupa (chorten) on a hilltop in Chanspa, Leh, Ladakh, in north India. It was built in 1991 by Japanese Buddhist Bhikshu, Gyomyo Nakamura. The Shanti Stupa holds the relics of the Buddha at its base, enshrined by the 14th Dalai Lama. Its location provides panoramic views of the surrounding landscape.

Shanti Stupa is exactly what it sounds like. One of the most serene and peaceful places to visit in entire Leh. The view of Leh from the top is magnificent. You will enjoy your entire time there if you just visit around the sunset when you can have a brilliant look at the last rays of the sun illuminating the white snow capped mountains and turning them golden in colour. It also has an amazing place to meditate in the premises where you can sit for hours and feel as if moments have passed. It is a must visit place if you are visiting Leh.

Very divine and peaceful experience. We spent few hours here. Evening is good here because it will be a bit cool. Lots of nice views. It’s ticketed and enough place to park the car or bike.

Built to promote world peace and prosperity as well as to commemorate 2500 years of Buddhism, Shanti Stupa is the major attraction in Leh. Perched on the mountain top, this religious place also offers a panoramic view of the city and the surroundings, and thus is a must-see.
