Vandiyur Mariamman Teppakulam is a historic temple tank situated in Madurai, Tamil Nadu, India. It was built by King Thirumalai Nayak in the 17th century. We went there early in the morning and nothing was open. This place looks more beautiful in the evening. The temple is in the middle of the water and no boat service was there at 7AM hence we couldn't visit the temple. We did click good pics here as the spot was amazing.

As it was afternoon we couldn't get into the temple. It was beautiful but would have been better if it was possible to get to a boat and visited this place

Iconic place in madurai, where people from all walks of like comes here. Mukteeswarar temple and mariamman temple just adjacent to this place. Lot of local eateries and boating are crowd pullers.

A wonderful place to sit down and relax. There are lot of food vendors and there are few temples around here.

Nice place to relax especially at evening time. Many Food stalls and kids friendly games are good. Many western style foodstall rather than our traditional foods. Good to have a walk-around for 30 to 40 mins. Saturday and sunday it is very crowded and Two wheeler parking is getting very difficult. No proper arrangements for handling the amount of vechicles is disappointing. Besides bond There is Siva Temple there. During Shivaratri they have managed the traffice very well But in normal days its getting harder parking vechicles. Boating allowed during day time upto 5 PM and there is a Break time at 1 to 3 PM.

If one wants to see night life of Madurai can visit. Local food stalls in plenty. Walk around a pond is another good experience

People are not allowed to enter here and the view during the night is awesome 😎 more importantly there is a food street here do try the foods here

Great temple. Must come in the evening. Otherwise we cannot enjoy it to the fullest. There is a small but crowdy temple nearby. Please do visit there also.

This is located in the middle of water and there is no transport to reach this place. All we can do is just watch from far. With the evening lights it looks beautiful from the main road but we can not park our vehicle due to the heavy traffic. Beside of the road, There is a mariamman temple.

A very beautiful place with a huge man made pond to enjoy boating and also doing worship of Devi Marriamman during your visit to Madurai Tamilnadu. It is only 5 Km away from Railway station/ Meenakshi Temple/ Tirumalai Nayyaker Palace of Madurai.

We couldn't visit the temple as it was closed when we went but we tasted the street food there which was good.

TEPPAKULAM IS VERY ATTRACTIVE AND STREET FOOD ARE AVAILABLE AT THERE. IAM ENJOYED A LOT AND I CAPTURED SOME BEAUTIFUL MOMENT.

Nice place, just has a lot of mosquitoes during the evenings. Best time to visit would be just before the evening i.e 5 to 5:30 types.

A very good and peaceful place to visit. You can't go inside the temple, there is one boat which revolves around the temple.

One of the top tourist spots in madurai. Many local people come here to spend their time with kids. Very crowded during evenings. Many foodtrucks and stalls will be present.

Very powerful god. Located in teppakulam. It is tourist spot where many local and foreign tourists visit teppakulam and by evening many road side shops are there.
