An incredible natural waterfall, situated on the outskirts of Shillong. It's a must visit for tourists who are heading to Meghalaya. After purchasing the entry tickets, you need to take the hilly staircase downhill, while enjoying the waterfall running down by the side of the steps. The view is absolutely breathtaking. After reaching the lowest point, you will witness the full length of the waterfall and this location is apt for clicking photos. Highly recommended to visit. 👍🏻

My visit to Elephant Falls was an absolute delight and a highlight of my trip. Tucked away in the lush green landscapes, this natural wonder is a testament to the breathtaking beauty that Mother Nature can create. The journey to the falls is an adventure in itself, with scenic trails surrounded by dense foliage. Once you reach the falls, the thunderous sound of cascading water and the misty spray in the air create a mesmerizing atmosphere. The sight of the water gracefully flowing down the rocks is nothing short of spectacular. The well-maintained pathways and viewing platforms make it easy to explore the area and capture the perfect photo. The lush greenery and vibrant flora surrounding Elephant Falls make it a photographer's paradise. Don't forget your camera! I was impressed by the efforts made to preserve the natural environment. There are informative signs about the local flora and fauna, raising awareness about the importance of conservation. It's heartening to see a destination that values its ecological heritage. For adventure seekers, there are opportunities to venture closer to the falls and feel the invigorating spray of water. However, safety measures are in place, ensuring a thrilling yet secure experience. Whether you're a nature enthusiast, a photographer, or just someone seeking a peaceful retreat, Elephant Falls is a must-visit destination. It's a perfect blend of natural beauty, tranquility, and a sense of awe that stays with you long after you leave. I highly recommend adding Elephant Falls to your itinerary – it's a nature lover's paradise!

This is one of the most famous spots in Shillong, with a tiered waterfall being the main attraction. There are steps to the base of the falls, with not much difficulty. View from the base is a beautiful sight, so highly recommended. One can enjoy views of the falls from various heights during the journey downwards.

Elephant 🐘 falls is a trail of beautiful waterfalls whicb is located in Shillong. The route is very constructed so it’s very easy to walk towards the falls. The water is super clean and there is so much greenery around the falls. There is a market just at the beginning of the falls where one can shop bags, souvenirs and woollen clothes (just don’t forget to bargain 😅) Do visit the falls when you are in Shillong 🤟🏻

Elephant Falls is a breathtaking three-layered cascade, impeccably maintained, and truly beautiful with no entry ticket. The journey to the end involves numerous stairs, which might be challenging for older individuals. At the entry point, there are a couple of shops offering local items, adding a cultural touch to the visit. Additionally, there are convenient amenities like restaurants and washrooms available nearby, enhancing the overall visitor experience. In summary, Elephant Falls is a must-visit for nature enthusiasts, offering both natural beauty and accessibility to facilities for a comfortable visit.

Firstly it’s misnomer. The rock shape on which it was named by Britishers is no longer here and should be renamed it’s original Three step falls what it actually is. Nice stairs leading down to first and then the second and third step of fall , surrounded by lush green flora and a lovely bridge in between. A small but beautiful fall , clean and well maintained. Probably August/ September or s best time to visit when water mass would be more

There are two view points here one around 20 steps from the top but the falls are far for this view point so not much to see. Second is around 70 steps from the top but definitely worth it as it is very close to the falls end part. Also there is a playground and toilet near the parking area.

Elephant Falls is among the most popular waterfalls in the northeastern region and is situated close to Shillong city. Elephant Falls in Meghalaya is a cluster of three small waterfalls lying side by side. Surrounded by lush green forest, it is considered as one of the most popular waterfalls in the North Eastern Region. it has an elephant-shaped rock adjacent to the falls & has crystal clear white water and lush greenery. When you go to Meghalaya, I would say This has to be your must visit place.

A beautiful place with some marvellous falls in Shillong. Must visit during rainy season. But don't visit in December to February. If it is raining when you visit, do not worry at all. The shopkeepers will rent you colourful umbrellas just for Rs. 20. There are some shops that sell some local handicrafts. Bargaining is common. Clean washrooms are available. Some restaurants cater tea and Maggie. No vegetarian restaurant can be found. There is a place where one can get tribal costumes on rent. They will even dress you up with all accessories. However, they do not have cameras. You have to click with your own camera or mobile phones.

It's a good place for sightseeing around Shillong. There are three falls to witness. You need to go downwards along stairs to reach the waterfalls. The third is the most beautiful among the three. It's quite cold downwards compared to outside. It's a worthwhile visit during your Meghalaya trip.

Entry fee is 100/- per person. Free parking is available. There are two sides of this fall. This basically have 3 water falls to view which you can see if you come from one side and if you come from other side then you can only see one of the fall which is at the bottom and enjoy much wider view. Place is well maintained and clean.

Not much to see here. There are three water falls and you need to climb down a lot of stairs to reach them. There are better waterfalls in Meghalaya. This is a good pitstop though. There are some small restaurants and local craft shops and a small park.

You can visit any of the three waterfalls, but the main one is the third. As you have to go down to visit the second and third waterfalls, it becomes harder to return to the entry gate since you have to climb 55-65 meters back up. By purchasing a ticket, you can also visit a nearby park. But its worth visiting as its really beautiful.

This waterfall at Shillang in Meghalaya, India, is different from other waterfalls in the area and looks really beautiful. The entrance area is also very attractive and clean. When I went to the end of April, the water flow was low, but it didn't take away from its beauty. The stairs leading down to the falls are well-maintained, and it's easy for anyone, including older people, to go down and enjoy the stunning view. The whole experience was amazing, and I was impressed by how clean and well-kept the place was. Just keep in mind that the water levels can vary, so it's good to check before you go. Overall, Elephant Falls is a must-see destination with its unique beauty and cleanliness. Visited: April 28,2023 Enjoy the breathtaking beauty of Elephant Falls and appreciate the clean and attractive surroundings it offers.

There are three falls but advised to visit this place in monsoon. These falls are worth to visit when water body have sufficient flow. In my December visit flow is limited but the water is excellent as every other falls in Meghalaya. You are not allowed to swim here but the pedal boating options available for 100 rs for two person to take a good pictures at the center of the fall. There are 100 steps almost to capture this location. Small shops are there also for shopping. And one restaurant is there for eating. You have to pay 100 rs for each as entry fee for this site.

This is a popular waterfall that is open to public at an entry fee of Rs. 100 per person. The place can be quickly covered within 45 mins to an hour. Since there are stairs it can be covered easily. The place is pretty clean and nicely maintained. Waterfall has good amount of flow and water looks pristine clean. They have put a ropeline beyond which you are not allowed to pics. You will find stalls for snacks and refreshment and also some selling handicraft items. This place draws a lot of people and is a good place to visit for a quick explore.

The waterfall was lovely to watch and enjoy. The place is not so far from the city of shillong. I had a wonderful time there to enjoy and relax in that beautiful place. Only the bad point is that lots of rush and crowd was there 😃 Basically the Elephant Falls are a two-tier waterfall in Shillong, meghalaya. The mountain stream descends through two successive falls set in dells of fern-covered rocks.

Located 12 km away from Shillong, Elephant Falls is one of the most scenic and famous waterfalls in North East India. Nature lovers come here to spend time amidst tranquility and enjoy the beauty of the surroundings. There are different vantage points from where you can witness the charm of Elephant Falls. The interesting part of Elephant Falls is a two-tier waterfall cascading down the rocks. These curved falls catch the eye of the visitors and the surrounding green vegetation makes it an ideal picnic spot. Elephant Falls sections into three smaller waterfalls and the combined stream drops down the fern-covered rocks below.

elephant falls experience of mine was really amazing, I've seen back to back three falls there and let me tell you all this them falls were so clean and beautiful like water is coming down straight from the heaven, like you can literally feel those beautiful and amazing vibes. The weather is always good there when i been there it was not raining but it was feeling like its raining, it was like god has put some filter on the scene what im trying to say is that it was feeling like i was in movie. Nature is really something that we should respect and protect for our next generations. Elephant falls were one of the greatest place I've ever been. Beautiful location with water falls in three places. To go deep down to see all the three. Can take good photos. In the top office, traditional dress available for Rs 100 rent and then take photos in that attire. Steps are bit big and should take care. Winter is too cool and wearing proper winter wear compulsory. In the parking area food and local handicrafts available.

Amazing scenic view at Elephant Falls. Beautiful and sound flowing water from falls. Waterfall is divided into 3 steps - first step is doable for all but 2nd and 3rd step falls is quiet deep and not easy for elder people to see 3rd step falls. Crowded and need to watch steps carefully. You need good shoes or comfortable wear. Clean toilets near parking lot and well managed parking lot. It is worth to pay Rs 100 per person to see this water falls. Steps are nicely made with comfortable steps.

Such a refreshing place to visit. The sound of the water falling in cascade style, the greenery of the area, the small stalls and shops at the entrance, the chat vendors at every checkpoint all just add up to the beauty of the place. There are bamboo dustbins placed in short distances with display regarding keeping the area clean.

Elephant Falls is a popular tourist attraction located in Shillong, India, and it's known for its stunning natural beauty and rich history. Visitors to Elephant Falls are treated to a breathtaking view of a multi-tiered waterfall cascading down the rocks, surrounded by lush greenery and towering trees. The falls are named after a rock formation that resembled an elephant, which unfortunately was destroyed in an earthquake. Nonetheless, the falls remain a popular tourist attraction in the region, and visitors can enjoy the beauty of the waterfall from several viewpoints and walking paths. Apart from the natural beauty of the falls, visitors can also learn about the history of the area, as Elephant Falls played a significant role in the colonial history of India. The falls were named by the British during the colonial era, and they were a popular picnic spot for British officers and their families. Visitors can also enjoy various activities around the falls, such as trekking, hiking, and birdwatching, making it a great destination for nature enthusiasts and adventure seekers. One thing to note is that the falls can get crowded, especially during peak tourist season, so it's recommended to visit during off-peak times or arrive early in the day. Overall, if you're looking for a scenic and historic destination in Shillong, a visit to Elephant Falls is a must. The natural beauty, rich history, and activities make it a great destination for all kinds of travelers.
