If you love to be very close to nature, do visit this place. The place have got awesome weather condition. Naturally filtered and purified air to breathe. To know more on tea and it's processing, do visit the tea factory nearby, it is a must visit location at this place. Do visit the sunrise point, a lovely place to visit. Only problem is the roads to these places are in bad condition at present. Well seems that works are in progress for better and wider roads, hopefully soon you will have better roads. Going mountain tops with vehicle, better suggestion is to opt for local jeeps. Daylight is better' time for travel at these locations and always plan local visits reaching back your stay before dawn.

It is one of the must see places in KeralaThere are a number of community based eco tourism programmes. Bamboo lodge situated in this reserve is an ideal place to listen to nature. There are a number of activities conducted bythe government and forest division. Some of the programmes are, bamboo rafting, jungle camp, jungle scouting(night patrolling to experience night life in jungle programme with armed guards),nature walk, tribal dance etc. There is also a museum where one can feel the jungle and listen to the sounds of animals and birds.

Its not a kind of national forest but it a like a public garden you are visiting. But the view and the landscape from this place is ultimate and love to visit here again.

As it is a reserve forest it is not allowed for people to picnic at any place. There are restrictions to where general public can go. Facilities are available at the border of the state of Tamil Nadu and Kerala. The forest is clean, green and houses a wide variety of flora and fauna. The temperature is also moderate to warn towards the Tamil Nadu side, and gets cooler as you go deep inside the Kerala side.
