The hospitality was top-notch, and the staff went above and beyond to make my stay comfortable. The rooms were clean, well-appointed, and the attention to detail was impressive. The location is convenient, with easy access to key attractions and amenities. The ambiance of the BnB is charming, creating a perfect blend of relaxation and a home-away-from-home feeling. The breakfast served was delicious, offering a variety of options to suit different tastes. What truly sets Hook BnB apart is the friendly and attentive staff. They were always ready to assist and provided excellent recommendations for local activities and dining. The personalized service made my stay memorable, and I would highly recommend Hook BnB to anyone visiting Port Blair. I look forward to returning in the future.

One of the best homestays, I stayed at till now. As we had a 2 year old child with us, he too enjoyed the ambience and especially the food. Completely relax environment. I will give top ranking to the food. Such a wonderful food. That's the best part of our tour to Andaman. Thanks to Revathi mam, Capt Sir and both champs for such a wonderful experience. Thank you.

It was a great stay here. We booked whole flat(2 rooms) as we were 2 families. The host treated us as their own family only. We always had food from host and they were so nice that they never charged food for children. Food was too good with varieties always and more than enough.. The transportation was also arranged by them at reasonable rates. The first pickup from Airport and drop at Airport was provided from host at no cost. Even they arranged other Water sports at Port Blair and Water Sports, stays and transportation at Shahed Island (Havlock) also. I would highly recommend for this Homestay… specially to families…. The son of Capt Dhanavelu is a professional chess player… one can have a match with him.😀

Usually, I am not the one who posts lengthy reviews on Google but I feel after the hospitality and homely environment I received at The HOOK BnB, I would be doing a disservice to Ms. Revathy Dhanavelu and her family if I did not explain my experience in detail. The Hook BnB is an Apartment type home stay where your host family stays in the first floor. The location is on the Coast of the Andaman Sea Shore Road and is a perfect getaway for a truly immersive experience at Port Blair. The property has been built with utmost care and attention to detail but it is the family that completes this homestay - the family comprises of Capt. Dhanavelu, Ms. Revathy, and their two kids, all of whom have a warm and smiling face whenever to see them. The food was beyond excellent. Every meal is curated and prepared by the lady of the house, where you will be tantalised by diverse flavours North, East, and of course South India. A special mention for their seafood preparations which come from the fresh catch of the day. During our stay we ate at many well known restaurants at Port Blair, but none compared to what we ate here. They have high speed internet, laundry services, transport arrangements, etc. Capt. Dhanavelu is an avid reader and has many interesting things to talk about throughout his years sailing across the Andaman seas. I would definitely recommend the Hook homestay to all those visiting Port Blair looking for a truly immersive experience in the Andamans. They have plenty room at the property and you will leave with friendships that hopefully will last for years to come.

In whole trip we didn't get food like hook bnb... simply awesome with great test..as we have kids with us they also comfortable and get their diet timely..very very nice homestay

I visited with my 5 member family for one night, and everyone loved the stay, we will definitely go back again. The best part - hosts are very welcoming and supportive, they genuinely cared and ensured our stay is comfortable. They helped in cab bookings, tour planning, and understanding more about A&N in general. Food is very homely and healthy, you'd definitely love that. Rooms are very well organized with all the amenities you'd expect from a 5 star rated place. View from the room is peaceful ocean, with a balcony to chill during evening time or to dry your clothes. Washrooms are clean and well maintained. Property is new so almost everything feels fresh. Location could be a little tricky since its a residential area but given free pickup and drop cab service, it will never be a problem. Its not so far from all the touristic places, within 15 mins by cab to reach anywhere you want.

"Wonderful Stay and exceptional hospitality at Hook BnB Port Blair" With my family members, I have stayed at this incredible homestay in Port Blair from 4-5 January 2024. The rooms are spacious and cleanliness is top-notch. The rooms are equipped with all the basic amenities and modern amenities like WiFi, TV, AC, Mini Fridge, Geyser, constant power backup etc. Most of the rooms have sea view balcony. We were accommodated in a very spacious room with one double bed and one single bed for the three of us. The warm hospitality of the hosts Capt. Dhanavelu and his wife Mrs. Revathi is remarkable. We were welcomed with tender coconut water just after our arrival. The complimentary breakfast that served to us was scrumptious consisting of South Indian homemade dishes. There was also bread, butter, jam, corn flakes, fruit salad. They provide complimentary pick-up from Airport and drop to Airport. The location of The Hook BnB is convenient, with easy access to key attractions. It is very close to the Airport (10-15 mins drive) and Haddo Jetty (5 mins drive) from where all the private ferry departs to Havelock and Neil. I would highly recommend The Hook BNB, Port Blair.

Best homestay option in port blare compared to *** hotels we stayed in Havelock and Neil. The property is run by a captain. The breakfast they provided was awesome. "A Hidden Gem in Port Blair!!!" I recently had the pleasure of staying with my family at this incredible homestay in Port Blair, and it exceeded all my expectations. From the moment I arrived, the warm hospitality of the hosts Capt. Dhanavelu and his wife Mrs. Revathi Dhanavelu made us feel like we were part of their family. We were welcomed with the famous king coconut of Andaman just after our arrival. We were accommodated at a very spacious sea facing room from which we could experience a really refreshing view of the sea and Mount Harriot. This is located very near to the Megapode Resort and one can enjoy a kind of same view from the rooms and balconies at a much lower cost. The homestay's location (Behind Old TATA Motors/ walkable from seashore road) is perfect – nestled in a peaceful neighborhood, yet conveniently close (within 3 kms radius) to all the major attractions like Cellular Jail, Corbyn Cove Beach, Samudrika Museum, Anthropological Museum, Chatham Saw Mill, all of which are only 10 mins apart from the property. Also the property is very close to the Airport (10-15 mins) and Haddo Jetty (5 mins) from where, all the private ferry departs. This is a very new three storeyed property having a dining area, study, kitchen, balcony and equipped with all the basic amenities for all the rooms. The rooms are tastefully decorated, combining modern amenities like WiFi, TV, AC, Mini Fridge, Geyser, constant power backup etc. It seems like they took care of each and every small thing to provide a better experience for the guests. Cleanliness is clearly a top priority here, and it truly enhances the overall experience. What sets this homestay apart is the genuine care and attention to detail provided by the hosts. They went above and beyond to ensure my comfort, offering valuable local insights and recommendations that made my visit unforgettable. We neither booked any cab for local transportation nor had any fixed itinerary at Port Blair prior to reaching there but, Capt. Dhanavelu arranged everything so nicely that we could cover each and every place without worrying about anything. From the pickup to drop from the airport and to visit each and every spot, he arranged an SUV car, which was always there with a very proficient and helpful driver. The rate for every place was also very nominal (Rs. 250- 300 for each pickup/ drop). Moreover he also arranged a jeep beforehand for us to visit Mount Harriot. He also arranged pickup/ drop and sightseeing at Havelock/ Neil. So one doesn't need to be worried at all if he/ she arrives completely unplanned at their place or doesn't have any package tour. All the meals including breakfast, lunch or dinner, everything was cooked and served by Mrs. Revathi, who took care of everything throughout the time we were at their place. She used to prepare a very delightful spread of South Indian homemade delicacies, showcasing the rich flavors of the region. It's evident that the hosts take pride in sharing the best of their culture with guests. Moreover, they love to talk to their guests just like family members and so we never felt bored for a minute. Prior to reaching there, I had no idea that I was the first one who booked their property for our trip, though many people went before us. So we got special hospitality from them as they were so overwhelmed to host us with all the possible facilities and help which made our trip unforgettable. I cannot thank enough to Mr. and Mrs. Dhanavelu for making our trip so memorable by not only providing us with a very comfortable stay at their place for 4 days but also to guide us with each and every small thing for visiting all the tourist spots and arrangements for local transportation. I'd highly recommend this homestay to every tourist of Andaman who'll be staying at Port Blair– it's a hidden gem in Port Blair that offers a perfect blend of comfort, hospitality, and authenticity. Whether you're a solo traveler, a couple, or a family, this homestay is a fantastic choice for a memorable stay in the heart of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands.

1. The Hook is located near the Airport which is ideal for our journeys to and fro from Port Blair. Secondly, Haddo Jetty is within 5 mins distance which is the point from which all the private boats depart to Havelock and Neil. Aberdeen Bazar is also 10 mins away. All the nearby activities such as Museums are well within reach from this place. Moreover, it is near main road but still quiet enough to enjoy a good night's sleep. 2. The hosts, Revathi Mam and Capt Dhanevalu both cook really delicious food and are very polite and kind enough. I reached here on my wife's Bday. When they got to know this, they arranged a cake and a celebration for her. We tried the local delicacies and South Indian food at their place. 3. The property itself is really clean everywhere and the rooms were also quite ambient and sunny in the morning as well. There were no insects and daily cleanliness was maintained without flaw. They do not take you for granted and all amenities are provided. The room is equipped with AC, WiFi, Mini Fridge, cupboard, TV and a study. The property is also equipped with power backup and we do not feel any problems in case of power cuts or anything. They even guided us to other activities and helped us with arrangements for local transportation as well as support in Neil and Havelock. I was worried about this because I did not take a package from any agency for the Andamans but everything went smooth after I checked in with them. They are really patient with any queries and guide you really well.

One of my best experience till date!!! We had stayed for 1 night in Hook BNB and it was the right and perfect choice :-) Loved the hospitality of. Mr. Dhana & madam. Location is pretty good ( Sea view Room) ...hospitality is unremarkable...we stayed for 1nights and overall experience was fantastic. The food was delicious and the way they served us , it was a homely feeling... I suggest stay in Hood BNB if in Port Blair.
