A plate of extra allu wadi was reordered for snacking with chilled sol kadi. Seating can be better worked out and comfortable seating options can be added by the restaurant. Although the location is iconic, views aren't leveraged from indoor seating.

Lunch at the Masala Kitchen yesterday was amazing. Everything was fresh and delicious. I really enjoyed it with my fam. Must visit if you haven't yet

This restaurant is located near Gateway of Ratnagiri. Beach is very dirty and you will get bad odour of dead fish nearby. Surrounding climate not so good even in winters. Food is well cooked and authentic taste, but very costly comparatively. Surmai thali cost was 600 but has only 1 bhakri. Pomfret thali cost was 800 when we visited. Overrated food, slow service, and expensive food makes it less attractive.

Excellent seafood with authentic local spices. The food especially the seafood is expensive, but worth a visit if you are traveling in and around Ratnagiri. They serve freshly made items that are good to taste and decent in quality. Definitely a better bet in the area with a calm and beautiful ambience.

I am a Chakarmanee and the food served here is our staples however it will be inappropriate to call it homely. The food certainly has finesse. It brings back all the memories of grandma's cooking at the same time it keeps a balance of leisurely flavours. The menu is hand written and entire seafood and poultry ingredients are sourced and hand picked freshly from the market for both lunch and dinner service. Everything on the menu is locally sourced thereby contributing towards local community. The staff is welcoming and very polite, the ambience is humble and ethnic. A must visit place for experiencing local food culture and preparations. If it's difficult to find it on map, search for Mandvi beach or Gateway of Ratnagiri it's right on the seashore.

This was my first visit to ratnnagiri and off course to first hotel visited in ratnagiri for dinner. Referred by friend and it's worth it. Just near to gateway of ratnagiri, beach front property you can say. Narrow lanes but free 4 wheeler parking was available. This is a public parking it seems. Talking about ambience, it's too good. Quite village kind feeling, wall decore items, hanging plates and lights. Spacious seating arrangement. Food quality is just awesome. Definitely go for crab masala fry the taste was never before for me. Ordered surmai fry thali, biggest sized piece ever got along with a small piece. Tried 2 new fish fry too, renvi and soundala fish. Even veg thali was delicious at just Rs. 150. Can't say on price tag as it was a treat for me but I must say it's worth to every penny. Recommended place.

Best place for fish lovers. Authentic shallow fried fish with quick service. I totally loved this place and I highly recommend this. Pocket friendly yet tasty food.
