This fort is located between Boisar & Chillar fata road and is about 1000-1500ft in height with easy to moderate level effort. Two trails lead to the peak and we took the one which goes from behind the Viraj Steel Profiles factory. Another route goes through Mama cha Gaav resort (steep route). On the way up there were no clear sign boards & demarcations and one has to navigate using one’s own judgement to get through. Although few arrows are marked on the stones to navigate. You see an amazing and beautiful view after a climb of 1-2hrs to the top. At the top you see two canons on the fort along with a pond or reservoir. Best time to visit is during the Monsoon with group of friends.

This is an easy grade trek. There are two trails to reach the peak. One starts from beside the Viraj Steel Factory, the other starts from "Mama cha gaav" resort. We took the trail from beside the Viraj Steel Factory. The trek starts from a muddy road(which is taken from main road). From the muddy road, you cross a small bridge and the trail starts. You need a climb a small hill. Taking a right at the top of this hill leads to a smaller peak with amazing view. Taking a left would lead you to walk through heavily vegetated areas along the hill ridge to another bigger hill. Then there is a steep climb to eventually reach the Asawa fort. There are two canons which have been restored. There are also few big water reservoirs. The view from top is fabulous.

Asavagad Trek Great and memorable trek. Asava fort heights about 1080 feet. Easy type of trek which has two routes to get at the top of fort. One by backside which starts from Mamacagaon resort from we're you can have a 2 caves among one is big with no pillar support and another one is small which is use for camping tents and camp fire and another one is from the base village warangade is easiest. A view from top is awesome. Also you can see a water cisterns on top of fort among which one is for drinking. 2 restore anceint cannon a Bullock cart wheel is also kept besides the canon were the flag is been hoisted. You can see a marvelous sunset in winters. Must carry mosquito repellent if planning for camping. 2 litres water is sufficient for drinking or else there are fresh water tanks for drinking. Local people are daily visitors to the fort top you or you can have a guide from base village for great trekking experience.

There are two routes to the peak. One being easy which starts from the factory at base village, other one being difficult which starts from Mama cha gaon resort. We took the difficult route. It was steep at places and had waterfall crossings. Rainy season made it a bit more difficult. You can witness few fort remains at the top. Not to forget the iconic canons at display on the top. The trek route is well marked.

Asavagad is one of the oldest fort in Palghar region. It was probably build by the Bhimb raja of Kelve - Mahin near palghar to safeguard their trade route to Ghat region of nashik via Jawhar and Basgad and Trimbak. Asava gad is a small watch tower fort with 2 small tanks and a big water tank build into the side of the fort. The approach to the fort is via Warangade, which is easier compared to other trail which starts from Mamacha gaav resort. Warangade trail start from the village, once you cross a small water stream near the village. The trail is well marked and easy ridge walk. It takes around an hr and half to reach the fortification ruins of the fort. Fort boost of 2 canons which were found a year ago during a fort cleaning initiative by the (Ba-Raigad group). Canons are properly placed on the highest point of the fort. Some ruins can be seen on the forts lying throughout. It takes around a 40 mins max to explore the fort and an hr to descend. Mamacha gaav descend is lil steep.

Asavafort also known as Asavagad in marathi holds a significant scenic view from the top. As you reached the peak of this mountain you’ll able to see the fort along with an ancient well and some ancient pools from the Shivaji Maharaj dynasty and this territory belongs to the great Maratha Empire also while trekking you’ll see the origin of a water body from those mountain in the peak a battle canon is also been placed.

The sights are as beautiful as you expect. But it has two routes leading up to it, one from mama cha gaav and another near viraj steel factory. The first one was slightly difficult and confusing. And remember to follow the direction arrows and maybe take help from the locals if you are very confused and lost. The second one though is easier and i would prefer that if you are planning to go. Have fun Trekking 🧗🏻‍♀️🚶🏻‍♀️

It was good start of the monsoon season 😊 There are 2 ways to reach at the peak of asava fort. One route is from Viraj Steel Factory and another is from "Mamacha Gaon Resort". We started to ascend from "Viraj Steel Factory" has to cross few minutes muddy road once the bridge is crossed the trekk starts....there are no signing boards but few arrows are marked on stones...at the peak there are 2 ancient canons, water tanks. As it was heavy raining and fogs around wasn't able to see clear view🥲 We descend from the route which exit at "Mamacha Gaon resort" where you can see cave safe place to rest for a while.....this route has indicating signing marks ➡️⬅️ on stones wherever it's required Best Trekking point for beginners💯
