Ambiance is good. Taste is average, prawns ghee roast need to improve a lot other dishes which I tried was good cost is high and they charge service charge of 5% which cannot be denied. Overall food taste must be improved and cost can be reduced in my opinion.

The best place to have the best Mangalorean flavour. The must try is Chicken Pepper Fry with Parotta. The vibe is so calm and wonderful.

Probably one of the best restaurants for Konkan seafood in Bengaluru.

I have been a regular customer of Konkan for a very long time. Me being born and brought up in the Mangalore belt makes me crave for some authentic seafood and Konkan does fulfill my requirements completely. Area & Parking : Church Street , above KC Das, ample parking space in the surroundings. Interiors : Sober and soothing with light music. Definitely a mood lifter. Food : I tried mainly the Mangalorean food dishes like Neerdosa, chicken curry , prawns and fish tawa fry. The taste of every dish was as close as you get in a Mangalore household. The Solkadi was good. Caramel Custard was mild on the sweet with beautiful jelly like consistency. 5 out of 5 for the food here. Covid Scenario : All the staff was wearing masks, gloves and their negative covid test results were displayed. The table was tidy with clean and neat plates and cutlery. There are very few places here in Bangalore where you get authentic Mangalore food. I'd keep Konkan on top of that list anyday. Not because they specialise in Coastal Cuisine but they have been able to maintain the same taste and quality for all these years. A Must visit here.

We went there for a weekend lunch. Things to keep in mind- Meals are available only on weekdays. You need to order dishes separately on the weekends. Try the seafood here, won’t disappoint. Prawn ghee roast is a must try. Check with the staff on the quantity before ordering-like when you order for chapati, you’ll get 2 chapatis when you ask for 1 , the assumption is 1 plate, which gets you 2 chapatis. Ambience is lovely, with a good selection of songs being played , not too noisy.

It was my first visit to this place, and it totally lived up to it's popular online reviews. The food was good. We tried the prawn ghee roast. It is a semi dry masala preparation with humongous tiger prawns, 6 or 8 pieces (I forgot how many) in a plate for 650/-. The color was a bit too red, and I hope it's just the colour of red chillies. The dish wasn't too hot though. We also had rava fry silver fish, they were like 2 inch long, and vey soft and tender inside the crispy rava coating. I had them with a squeeze of lime and exta salt. There were about 18-20 pieces, for 260/-. The price of seafood items are not mentioned on the menu, probably because they have to be fresh, and depends on availability. We also enjoyed appams, parotas and mushroom masala, and some chilled kokum soda. This place is on the first floor of the building, and you have to climb up a narrow steep staircase. But once inside, it's like being transported into an oasis of peace and quiet in middle of the hustle bustle crowd and traffic of st.mark's road. They played Konkani music at a very low volume, which effectively made everyone talk very softly. Despite a good number of customers, the ambience was serene, which for me adds a lot more value to our eating out experience.

In a world filled with copy-paste multi-cuisine restaurants, The Konkan is refreshingly different in its approach to food. Every single item on their coastal-specialised menu is served with the love and care that any die-hard food lover deserves. From the chicken ghee roast and pork bafat to the mutton green curry and the incredible seafood platter, you just cannot go wrong, and frankly, one is spoilt for choice. In short, do yourself a favour and visit this gem.

Well cooked food, pricy dishes but a must try if you are a fish and sea food lover. The ambience has a rustic old school charm, good for family and friends catchup. The butter garlic prawns and the Rawa Pompfret were extremely well cooked. The Kokum is a must try for sure!

Great place for Coastal mangalore cuisine! The white pomfret fish fry seems to have left a positive impression. Combining Neer dosa with prawn ghee roast sounds like a delightful choice, offering a blend of coastal flavors. Additionally, the boiled rice paired with silver fish curry adds a diverse touch to the meal. Overall, it seems like a satisfying culinary experience with a range of well-prepared seafood dishes.

We had ordered 1. Chicken pepper dry- definitely yummy 2. Prawn ghee roast- was fairly okay, I have had better 3. Surmai fish curry- was good 4. Kerala porotta- was yummiest of all Ended the meal with a glass of sol kadhi, which was refreshing. This place is quite good and definitely worth a visit if you are near church Street/ mg road

Succulent with just the right amount of bite, *butter garlic prawns* are perfect here. *Prawn tawa fry* however was a total disappointment. The intense red masala coating was tasteless and spicy. Masala should be more than just red chilli powder! Place is small but the ambience is pleasant. Staff is helpful and service was quick. Will return to try other dishes.

Very authentic and flavourful food. Both the servers, Raghunath Shetty and Shivkumar were excellent. It makes a difference when they are also passionate & recommend the right dishes to taste. Thank you!

A perfect place to enjoy good coastal food in the heart of the city while enjoying some peppy goan music over the speakers. The options available are great from fish, chicken and veg, so there is something for everyone. 😊

This place is amazing. Prawns are soft, Fish is also soft and easy to eat. Lots of variety too. Service is blazing fast. You will get your meal back to back to back. Atmosphere is also nice. Very clean and nice. The put a paper sheet and coasters on the tables so that you can’t make a big mess. Very nice staff.

Visited 4/15/2023 We were there for lunch. Ordered Solkadi which was good. I found it just a smidgeon salty but then prefer less salt in my food however my sister found it perfect so it’s a matter of preference. We ordered prawn ghee roast - excellent and very flavorful. Fish curry also very good - we chose the lady fish option. There were 4 small fish pieces which I guess amounted to 2 whole fish. There was no nasty fish smell that one finds sometimes in seafood or fish dishes. None of that here thank you. Also ordered Chicken roce curry and boiled rice and sannas. The chicken was a little tough but the roce was very good and perfect flavors. It was not killer spicy but just right. The entire place was very clean and well kept and the bathroom was a delight. Very clean and neat: the soap dispenser full and the tissues and toilet paper were all loaded and not empty as one would find most other places. I mention this because in most places you go to you find that these details are neglected and the bathrooms are in a sad state with the trash overflow and such. Not here at The Konkan; I was pleasantly surprised that this was not the case and I would dearly like to applaud them for it. It says something about the folks who run it that they are diligent and mindful of the customer experience. The staff were courteous and attentive. Overall I would wholeheartedly give it 5 stars. Well done!

Ambience- 4 of 5 Services- 5 of 5 Starters- 5 of 5 Main course- 5 of 5 Desserts- did not try Drinks- 4 of 5 Value for money- 5 of 5 Overall satisfaction- 5 of 5 As the name goes Konkan is restaurant having Konkan / costal Karnataka cusine. It's placed right above KC das on St. Mark's road. Restaurant ambience is good with the staffs being cordial. Starters we tried chef special bangada and prawn ghee roast. These dishes were fantastic and the flavours were amazing. These dishes are highly recommended for sea food lovers. We also ordered sole kadi which for me was a little lighter than what I have had elsewhere. However the flavour was good and tasty. For main course we ordered Ambot curry with Kane in it. We had this curry with Panpole and Pundi which complemented it really well. And this is the traditional Konkan dish. A must try. Overall a must go-to restaurant for seafood lovers.

Good food. Try the fish obviously. But it took us ages to discover and find it. They need better marketting. Service and food and options are good though. Would visit again :)

We went here for dinner a few days back, it’s a very nostalgic place set up like the Bangalore restaurant of olden days. The menu has not the widest variety of options for any seafood lover but enough to keep you interested. We ordered the seafood and crab meat soup which were ok and then a seer fish tawa fry and batter fried squid for starters, both of these were delicious. The seer fish had just the right amount of masala and was melt in your mouth soft, the squid was crisp, flavourful and not too chewy. For mains we ordered some neer dosa, sanna’s and shevige with a chicken stew and a green prawns curry, these items paired really well the stew was light and refreshing while the green curry looked spicy but was fresh and very tasty. We topped of the scrumptious meal with a Ragi Manni and a Caramel custard which were not overly sweet which was good and had a very homely feel. Overall it was a great meal and very enjoyable if you want the real seafood and Konkan coast experience. The service and staff were super attentive and actually suggested good options to try. Thanks for the lovely experience team The Konkan.

The food was excellent and so was the service. . The restaurant has a vey nice ambiance and a cozy atmosphere. The owners of the place were very sweet and accommodating. The waiter helped us navigate through the menu very comfortably. I highly recommend this place to everyone to have authentic Konkan food just like the name says👍

Food is decent, but it’s very expensive and they charge mandatory service charge of 5%, which should be left to the discretion of the customer and not imposed. We ordered a seer fish masala fry but were given pomfret masala fry, despite multiple requests from our side the staff was adamant that we ordered pomfret and after a certain point we had to give in… overall not a good experience, definitely not worthy for another visit

People who love the sea food will extremely enjoy the spicy, tasty fish fry, kababa, biryani and variety of flavored fish specially the costal side cooking style.

I visited the Konkan restaurant after seeing all the positive reviews about the good food. But I was highly disappointed and disgusted after I was served my drink with a COCKROACH in it. I was quite shocked as the restaurant seemed pretty decent. Nothing can justify poor cleanliness. Never going back here.

Horrible experience. They kept washbasin inside the toilet. And only one toilet. No one like to go to toilet before having food. After waiting more than 40 mins they served the food. We thought atleast food take will be good. But completely disappointed

We had a visit with family here. We liked the authentic konkani / Mangalore style food. Prawns Ghee roast with neerdosa was awesome. Do try kokum soda for drink and Ragi manni for dessert which is one of the unique preparation we had first time in Bangalore. Hotel location is just 5 min walk away from MG road metro station. Take the church street exit at metro and walk towards KC Das sweets outlet. Just above KC Das is the hotel. Price is reasonable considering the prime location in comparison to other food outlets around same place.
