Went to manchanabele dam on a Sunday in October. Beautiful climate at this time. The journey to the destination was scenic filled with green all around. The roads were good too with a few bumps here and there. Entry to the dam is restricted due to certain incidents. Need to see it from a distance. There are multiple viewpoints, need to trek a little bit. Complete access to the reservoir is fenced so even after trekking you can see the reservoir from a distance only. As can be seen from the pictures I have shared. It’s absolutely gorgeous! Do not miss this natural beauty within an hour distance of Bangalore! Highly recommended!!!

Beautiful place to watch sunsets, park vehicles on road side and trek for 10 minutes for a better view of waters and in some distance there is an under water passage where water is not deep and people can get into waters and play for sometime. But that water is not clean. I dint try fish there and if you pack your food then later please pick-up your own garbage as that place already looks like a mess. There are very few people even on Sunday evening. The highway road is under repairs, so it takes time and patience to travel there from Bangalore.

Calm and peaceful.. If the weather is good. Don't forget to try the lip smacking fish at one of those Road side shacks for 100 Rs. We tried fish at chikanna fish land.

THE DAM IS RESTRICTED TO PUBLIC as of date 09.02.2023. locals said that the dam is closed for visitors because some deaths happened a few months back. it was not updated in map. We drove all the way from Bangalore to manchanabele. Couldn't visit dam. Last we spend some time in a small stream like waterflow from the dam. It seems beautiful before but now the bridge there collapsed due to some natural or technical reason. Dam is situated in a very remote village. I really enjoyed the travel to dam ❤️🏍️. Food is available nearby dam. Mobile range is less. Download offline maps before you visit this place.

We wanted to go for a short trip near Bangalore and came across this place which is not very far from Bangalore. We started at 1:00pm and reached the place at 3:00. The place is accessible from Mysore Road and has a decent road to take your vehicle. The reservoir is nestled between hills from three sides and the place looks really lovely from distance. We were not allowed to go near the dam or the reservoir. We drove further down and many people were enjoying bath in the downstream of the river (more of a stream). Thanks do follow me for more updates

I had the chance to catch a glimpse of Manchanbale Dam while driving along its scenic route. The experience left a positive impression on me, even though I couldn't find a designated viewpoint. The natural beauty surrounding the dam was breathtaking. The lush greenery and serene waters provided a picturesque scene, making it a perfect spot for nature enthusiasts and photographers. Not sure is there is any parking spot available.I found it difficult to park on the roadside

The place is good but water is not clean. No entry place. 1.50km before there is a off road. That was fun and can see a good view point.

This is a very less known place near Bengaluru. It's a dam for the river Arkavathi. A beautiful place with not many people. Do visit this if you're going towards Mysore. It's very near. Be informed that you're not allowed to go on top of the dam. But the view beside it is simply amazing. A personal recommendation is to try to visit it during sunset, it's a completely different vibe.

Its a good place to spend a day with family & friends. Rainy season is best to visit. In other season water will be less. But too much litter around this place. Local authority should take action to keep it clean.

Manchanabele Dam, a gem nestled in the heart of Karnataka, is a captivating haven for those seeking nature's embrace. This reservoir, surrounded by undulating hills, offers an awe-inspiring spectacle that effortlessly captivates the senses. The sheer expanse of the dam's turquoise waters against the backdrop of verdant hills creates a mesmerizing tableau. The tranquility of the surroundings makes it an ideal escape for both introspection and shared moments of bliss. As the sunlight dances on the water's surface, Manchanabele Dam becomes a canvas of shimmering reflections, painting a picturesque panorama that seems almost too beautiful to be real. Adventure enthusiasts are in for a treat, as the dam beckons with opportunities for water sports and boating. The thrill of skimming across the reservoir's pristine waters amplifies the allure of this destination. The surrounding landscape is a playground for trekkers and explorers, offering a harmonious blend of adrenaline-pumping activities and serene natural beauty. The dam is not merely a visual feast; it's a sensory symphony. The gentle rustle of the breeze through the trees, the distant calls of birds, and the rhythmic lapping of water against the shore create a soundtrack that enhances the overall experience. Manchanabele Dam is not just a destination; it's a journey into the heart of Karnataka's natural splendor—a place where every moment is etched in the memory with the indelible ink of awe and admiration.

Beautiful place, one can reach top and see the view of backwater and hills at the background. Already most of hills near by are on extinction because of mining. Best place for cycling and also enjoy Fish fry on nearby road side huts.

I have visited twice here but the there is no entry to public so we can't enjoy the scenic view. We can still enjoy the view from far which is not really as good as being on the dam itself. If you go there don't miss some fresh fish.

Excellent long drive from Bangalore specially after the rains. The best view is from the approach. You cant go to the dam but there are some viewpoints which you can hike to easily. Tip: Check maps for a small village called Dabagulli and drive to it, you will enjoy the road!

Good place for a day outing. No one's allowed to go above the dam without local bodies recommendation/signature. Take a look at these boys and think for yourself if you want to see the dam or enjoy the water. A little downwards from here is where you will be able to let the kids play safe on water.

Wow! What a beautiful place to spend half a day with friends and family. Really beautiful with wild boulders, dam water and hillock around. Close access to tha dam gate or water body is strictly restricted. Right now this area have only a few road side food stalls with very basic items. They sale fresh fish fries, but remember those are not from this dam as fishing is not allowed here. Well connected with Bangalore, can be easily reached from Kengari Metro within 30 minutes. Regular bus (30 minutes intervals) available from Mejestic bus stand.

Gates to dam are closed and no one knows when they will open. But there is an area from back side where you can go by walk, so park your vehicle in safe place and walk to enjoy the view. If you are on the right weather day, you will get a distant view of clouds over the cliff as well.

This place is a good picnic spot to visit on weekends near Bangalore. Very peaceful area with a beautiful nature around and you can spot the beautiful sunset at the evening from the top of the hill. As you enter the manchanabelle you can see the beautiful view of dam from the road. The road side view is very awesome and breath taking. On the road to manchanabelle you can also visit the big banyan tree which is around 300 years old and is still growing. Travel of half a day from Bangalore. Visit Savandurga Hill early morning and then the Manchanbele Dam in afternoon or by evening. However, you may have fun on the riverbank. Best sunset view

The view points beside the dam showcase a scenic view of the river, the dam and the hills, especially savandurga hill. There is a river bridge at the end of the hill, the water flows from the dam and you can enjoy in the water as you can't go inside the dam due to restriction.

Manchanabele Dam .. Dam forming a reservoir framed by forested hills, known for birdwatching, picnics & sunset views. ... Serene. A small road trip from Bangalore brought us to this amazing place. Stunning view, peaceful atmosphere and some good local snacks. You can also check out the big banyan tree on the way to the dam.
