🌌 This Planetarium in Bangalore is very good from the inside but not outside. The outside park is not maintained but overall science stuff is good to see and can learn new things any way you will enjoy and know very fascinating things there. Great place for science and to bring kids. They can learn and see about different things they learn at school. Good initiative by the Bangalore City to create scientific awareness and a thinking mindset.

Wonderful experience that everybody should experience.. I first visited the planetarium in 1994.. this is my third visit.. I purchased a kannada show tickets from bookmy show app.. children really enjoyed the show on the solar system.. each can accommodate 210 people.. only children above 4years are allowed inside the show. there is a dome like theatre meant to projection of show.. Still now it has maintained its charm.. A science park situated in the campus needs maintenance and security.. Parents should read the article placed near every scientific play and then they should guide their children to play as suggested in the article... Most of them are not working at all since children don't know how to play and learn the scientific reason behind that play. Overall it was a good experience after a long time.

The kids enjoyed the show a lot. But there is no proper maintenance in the park in front. Almost all the science items installed are not properly working.

Jawaharlal Nehru Planetarium is located in Bangalore, India, and is a popular tourist attraction for people of all ages. It was established in 1989 and is named after the first Prime Minister of India, Jawaharlal Nehru. The planetarium has a dome-shaped sky theater that can accommodate up to 210 people at a time. The theater has state-of-the-art equipment that projects high-quality images of the night sky, planets, and other celestial bodies. The shows are presented in both English and Kannada languages and are highly informative and entertaining. Apart from the sky theater, the planetarium also has an exhibition hall that showcases various models and exhibits related to astronomy, space science, and technology. The exhibits include models of rockets, satellites, telescopes, and other space-related equipment. There are also interactive exhibits that allow visitors to learn about different aspects of space science in a fun and engaging way. The planetarium also conducts regular workshops, lectures, and other educational programs for students and astronomy enthusiasts. These programs cover topics such as astronomy, astrophysics, space exploration, and related fields. The entry fee for the planetarium is very reasonable, with tickets priced at Rs. 50 for adults and Rs. 35 for children. The planetarium is open from Tuesday to Sunday, from 10:30 am to 5:30 pm. Overall, Jawaharlal Nehru Planetarium is a must-visit destination for anyone interested in astronomy or space science. The planetarium offers a unique opportunity to learn about the mysteries of the universe in an engaging and interactive way. Note :Avoid Weekends ( fully crowded)

The entire establishment is meant for science enthusiasts with an aim to impart knowledge of the aspects of earth and space in a fun and exciting way. From how stars form to how planets evolve, from the origin of life to human's space expeditions, from how gravity works to how eclipses happen - the planetarium explains it all. The Sky Theatre is its main attraction, but there are other exciting setups as well which is fun to experience as well as gives an overall idea about a number of scientific phenomena. People, especially kids, from around the city visit this place as well as tourists who visit Bangalore. Mainly it facilitates the educational institutes which can bring their students here for an academic excursion with prior booking. The children get to learn things outside the classrooms and also enjoy a day out with friends. The place is a fascinating hub of knowledge but not in a textbook manner; but rather in a more intriguing and practical way which explains the concepts much better than theory.

Jawaharlal Nehru Planetarium Taralaya (Planetarium) tickets can be bought online thru bookmyshow. Cost INR 60 for adults and Child ticket INR 40. Special shows are scheduled in December every year. There is a large open park with various science models. Good place for kids to play. Inside the hall there is a new model of Aditya L1 mission. Good visit for kids and some learning. My lil one was excited with the "Dawn of the space age" show.

This space-themed spot is perfect for expanding your cosmic knowledge. Geared towards children and space enthusiasts, it offers an informative English show, impeccably scripted and explained. Even those with limited celestial knowledge find it easy to grasp. The science exhibition was a standout, hosting multiple schools showcasing top-notch experiments, making it an enriching experience for all attendees.

This place is for you if you love science. No, scratch that. This place is for you if you're curious and like to learn new things. It is a very informative place. I had so much fun at the science park. There were volunteers at some of the exhibits and they continuously kept explaining the science behind them to anyone who's interested. There are three different shows playing on specific days. Available in Kannada and English. Be sure to book tickets like a week before or else you'll have to stand in a line for a very long time. Overall it was a great experience.

The Park is average in terms of infrastructure. Not disabled friendly. The building from outside looks like it is from the Soviet era. The show inside was good and for around an hour.

Everyone intrested in astronomy should view 2 documentary (Celestial Fireworks and dawn of space age) for sure, that's telecasted at morning and evening time (better to book your tickets on book my show : search for taralaya). It's a fun place for people who want to have understanding of physics. 1. People with Telescope intrest can visit on first Sunday of every month. 2. Who want to make there own Telescope can contact A.B.A.A, which is in that campus. 3. People with special intrest on documentary can visit on 3rd Sunday of every month

The Sky Theatre show is the biggest attraction here. There are 4 daily shows (2 in Kannada, 2 in English). Additional shows are there on weekends. The English shows on weekends are generally crowded. The seats are limited. Advance online booking is recommended, else we need to reach at least 1hour in advance. The seating in the sky theatre is not very comfortable. It could have been flatter so that we can get a clear view of the whole screen. Several events are organised at the Planetarium- including sky watching, interactive lectures, science exhibitions, workshops, etc. Check the official website for details. There are several scientifically connected games for kids in the premises. Ample parking space is available. The toilets available are not very clean. Mondays and second Tuesdays of the month are holidays.

Good place to visit with your kids. You can easily spend at least 3 hours including 45 minute sky theatre show where you will get to know more details about the space. Tickets can be collected in the counters and also through bookmyshow.com website one day prior. The sky show available in Kannada and English languages. On weekends and public holidays the management will increase the number of sky shows based on the crowd. Photograph and video is strictly prohibited inside the theatre.

This is a nice place to enhance your knowledge about space. Children and space enthusiasts will definitely love this place. The English show is not only well scripted but also well explained . It is easy to understand for people with even less knowledge about the celestial objects. Another worth mentioning part of my experience was the science exhibition which was held there. Multiple schools participated in the event and they demonstrated some of the best science experiments.

A must place to visit than the usual shopping malls and alike to get a better idea about the world around you. A visit or two for kids should make them happy as the Science Park outside is no less than a playing ground for them. That said, it still has a lot of scientific experiments and phenomena that will interest them while they are at it. The show is the highlight and I must admit the dome experience is worth enjoying with kids and family.

There is a science Park where there are lot of interesting projects exhibited, though some of them are damaged or not working. Childrens Park and lot of open space available to roam around. Ample space for parking two wheeler and four wheeler vehicles. Nandini parlour is available in the campus where some ice creams and savouries can be relished.

A most recommended place to visit in Bangalore for school kids. There is a play ground inside the compound that's free for anyone and does not require entry fee. The entry fee is only for the show, which us amazing with videos and images of the stars and planets are formed on the screen projected onto a domed ceiling. Half of the tickets are mostly online and half are avaliable in the site 30 minutes before the show. In weekends when there is large crowd, sometime there are additional shows. When we went there in Jan 2023, ticket was already booked but then got ticket for additional solar system show. I wish there are such planetarium in each countries. The show and stuff on lay ground was amazing for students to learn about solar system and planet.

Had great and knowledgeable experience at planetarium. Great place for people who love astronomy, science and physics. There is Sky theatre where they have shows on solar system, meteors etc. The shows are in English and kannada language. You can choose the show accordingly. Kids will enjoy this place. You can have roam around in the science garden and understand the logic behind it. If you want to avoid the crowd then visit this on weekdays. There will be huge queue to get the ticket for the show in sky theatre.

Nice place for school students and others also. Outside park is free. For watching the planetarium shows, you have to pay the charges. Inter terrestrial fireworks and many other shows are great to watch. There are specific timings for various shows. Some of those are in English. Some of those are in Kannad. Online tickets are also available.

This planetarium is good for science students especially under Astrophysics and astronomy subject. Of course, for above 13 years old children, solar system and celestial fireworks movie is interesting. For other than science students, movie could have been explained in simpler manner. Only contribution of indian scientists is highlighted such as Chandrashekhar's effect, black hole phenomenon. Many other well known American, Japanese, Russian scientists remarkable contribution could have been also shown. The background voice of the male was not so clear. The chairs are to be made still comfortable to watch full view of celestial bodies. Nebula formation, asteroid, meteorite, revolving planets around the sun could have shown still in understandable simple ways. The management needs to concentrate to show more of update in technology such as role of each launched satellite rather than mere celestial bodies. The ticket prices of 75 rs for adults and 50 rs for children is quite normal. Weekend one has to book tickets to avoid rush. The garden outside is very catchy for children and they enjoy.

The good part of JNP is that it does not only offer the skyshow, but there are a variety of awesome activities that can raise the enthusiasm of a kid or student who loves the science. Below are some must do items: 1. Make sure you weight yourself to know your weight on each planet. 2. Enter the skyshow on the time to enjoy it without intruption. You can book your tickets in advance through online. 3. After the Skyshow, you must visit the science park. There are multiple pieces of equipment installed to show the scientific concepts. Please read the info on each of the boards before you start for a better understanding. 4. You can visit the small room for books and toys. 5. At last, don't forget for refreshment at Cafe at the entry gate.

Wonderful place for young minds. It will really ignite there imagination and show them magic science. There is a park where you can do simple experiments and activities related to concepts of science that will definitely amaze a young child. Logic and concept is also given with the activity. There is also an illusion park nearby. The show was average and hologram/3D projector was not synchronised with others projectors. The knowledge was quite basic for an educated person and science enthusiastic person but good children.

I love this place. I've visited it many a times and will keep visiting again n again in the future too. Only shortfall is that there's no one to explain the experiments that are displayed outside. Thus, whenever I visit it, I volunteer myself and explain them to all the people who are available there. They love it after knowing what's it all about. I request you all to do the same and keep this fantabulous place going great. Let this become a happening place for everyone around, which will help science reach everyone, especially the children. 😊😊🙏🙏

Beautiful experience, very well managed. Lots to learn and lots to explore. Sound in the auditorium was echoing so the sound proofing is not done well. Seats should have been a bit more inclined to have a more fuller view. Other than these, its very smooth process.

A nice place to visit for kids. Lovely play area. Also the planetarium plays informational video which is worth watching at least once. Ticket price is 50 for adults and 30 for kids. Kids above 3 are allowed. The queue system at the ticket counter is really bad and slow. Weekends was a bad choice we made to visit the planetarium. Parking facility is good. Washrooms are good too. We had booked online 'Our Solar System' show. Although it is mentioned on BookMyShow that we need to collect tickets, we do not have to collect actually. One can show the mobile ticket and enter the hall. This is a 30 minutes show. I felt the content of the show were targeted towards school going children like Class 7 or after. We had a gang of 6 year old and they did not quite enjoy the show, except the stars. If you don't have online tickets then buying it at the venue is quite tedious via a long queue. Parking is available. The outside small science park is quite fun for the kids to explore.

Very nice place which has many things which help people to learn more about many scientific principles and our solar system. Some experiments are not maintained well but we can still see the experiments but can’t see how it works due to poor maintenance. The planetarium show “Celestial Fireworks” was really good. It was very informative and was amazingly documented. If people come here to learn and not just enjoy as a picnic, it will serve well to the purpose of the existence of this beautiful place of science.

The place is very neat, They have very good parking spaces for 2 wheeler and 4 wheeler. At present they have reduced the seats to 50 % to maintain social distance. Theatre is well maintained, The content and the visualization is also very good. There is a small park where u you can find some amazing science facts

Very nice place especially for kids in primary and above... We saw all 3 shows in one go... Tickets can be booked in advance on book my show... There is a small tuck shop in the area...but tea is not available... We ate ice creams and samosas...taste was ok... Also there is a shop named curious, it has books, games and other educational interesting things that can be bought... In the planetarium there is weighing machine that shows your weight on all planets compared to earth for minimal fees of 10/rp Toilets are good and well maintained... Extra shows are arranged by the authority if people are more(usually sat, sun). Science park is also nice, and can be seen between the two show timings.. Overall good place, and the quest for knowledge never ends...

The planetarium still had its charm. There are some interesting scientific tools / equipments outside in the park that kids can enjoy and experience. This is free of charge. There are some optical illusions as well which pique your interest. However, the maintenance outside is poor, so, you'll find some of them broken or non-functional. We chose the "solar system" show in the sky theatre and really enjoyed it. Very nicely done video with some VR effects. You are not allowed to take any pics or videos inside.Must visit with kids.

Not as good as the planetariums in other cities I have visited. I happened to be near Millers Road and I thought I’d take my daughter there. There’s a kids park outside which is free and kids will have a good time there. For the theatre and shows, book your tickets online. At the time, we had schools visiting the planetarium and we couldn’t get tickets for the theatre. I feel this place could be better and well maintained. They could add a lot for indoor too to feed the young curious minds.

One of the must see places for kids and adults who love science on solar system and Astrophysics. The place is good with lots of information and details. The ticket pricing is cheap around 50 for adults and 30 for kids. Though they take only cash on this digital India. The auditorium is well maintained with good reclining seats and AC is good, the sound system is excellent and the contents of each programmes are good and enjoyable. It's 45min show thoroughly useful.

A must visit place for every kids and science lovers. Planetarium experience is just beyond universe. The narration and show is classic. It is made so easy that a common man can easily understand and enjoy the concept. The science park is great but not maintained which is very sad. Restroom is well maintained. It would be a good idea to take your kids from time to time depending on the topics.

This is a good place my daughter loved it!! This place has a technology park where kids can play and learn about different aspects to science.. The show is also good.. it about inventions and how the space discovery has advanced. This show is more of between 2 super powers Soviet Union and USA. Would have been good if there were some references to Indian space program.. This show is more targeted towards high school students.. This place has ample parking for 2 and 4 wheelers and best part is it's free.

I went here during my school days. There's a lot of difference when I see it today. The show (Beyond the world) wasn't effective as I had already seen more informative videos than that. I felt the show needs to update in projecting. Science park is good. Cleanliness is maintained well. I wish there could be some shopping stalls outside the planetarium with only astro theme. Good place to bring kids

Great place to be at! Do attend In-house shows showcased in regional and English language, different batches per se. Lots of good memories you can create. Outside instruments are not do good, need to work on more creativity and sheltered base.

This place has a number of very interesting science experiments, suitable for both kids and adults. Things like how pulleys work, how light refraction happens, how optical illusions work etc. Inside the planetarium one has shows at 12:30 and 1:30, ticket for the shows is Rs 75. There are also posters on the moon, planets, observatories in India, asteroids and how they look and what they are built of, etc. This is a fun outing for the whole family and definitely worth a visit for kids.

One of the best places one can visit with family or friends. It is a planetarium + science park. Perfect for school goers. Enlightening for adults. The shows in the dome auditorium are mesmerising. An affordable and absolutely worth the money day out destination. Easily reachable using public transport or private vehicle.

Will give honest review as usual... No doubts that one of the very few places where you can spent quality time eith your family with kids. However, having said that Management should also think and work towards upgrading the facility. It's decade old facility is dying and now kids are so advanced they need more elborat education of the concepts rather just a dummy item. Also the planetarium movies needs to be more smart amd latest with information rather then old school things.

Great experience at the Planetarium. It was crowded despite the pandemic, but the Sky Theater followed strict social distance protocols. Will recommend people to buy the tickets for the show on BookMyShow. This place is always crowded. The Science Park had a lot of kids playing. The film 'Celestial Fireworks' was very well organised. They have a 'Know Your Stars' event on the first Sunday of the month and a free film screening on the third Sunday. Great place for astronomy lovers! There were also tidbits of information on other astronomical observatories in India, collection of meteorites, etc.

A must visit place for kids and adults too who wants to learn more about our solar system and universe. Both Kannada and English shows are excellent, with a little bit of humor. Beautiful editing and narration. Ample parking and nice science themed park. You can get tickets at counter or on BookMyShow app.

A place with many scientific experiments and demos of the theory concepts which we have gone through in our childhood. I wish I would have visited this place when I was a kid. This place will definitely help you to gain knowledge and by observing the projects you get very good ideas of laws and theory's written by scientists. You must visit this place.

If you arrive well before a planetarium show, expecting to walk the lovely grounds after buying a ticket to the show, prepare to be disappointed — even if you are first in line, they will make you sit and wait a full hour in line for a 45 minute show, because this is India, and nothing is run efficiently or with any thought for the consumer’s experience. Ridiculous. That said, the movie is excellent, state of the art with lots of references to the ancient Indian names for the stars and planets, and the outdoor exhibits are excellent too, though generally a bit advanced for a preschooler -- they're more at middle school-HS level.

This place is a great place for learning, we need to make sure that we take our children to planetarium once in a month. It has a park where children can play and understand the concept of physics while playing. You can also hear the sounds it is said that universe is also making similar kind of sound which would be OM sound in different frequency.

Jawaharlal Nehru Planetarium in Bangalore is a popular attraction site in the city, administered by the Bangalore Association for Science Education (BASE). The entire establishment is meant for the science enthusiasts with an aim to impart knowledge of scientific aspects of earth and space in a fun and exciting way. From how stars form to how planets evolve, from the origin of life to human's space expeditions, from how gravity works to how eclipses happen - the planetarium tells it all. The Sky Theatre is its main attraction, but there are other exciting setups as well which is fun to experience as well as gives an overall idea about a number of scientific phenomena. People, especially kids, from around the city visit this place as well as tourists who are in Bangalore for some days. Mainly it facilitates the educational institutes which can bring their students here for an academic excursion with prior booking. The children get to learn things outside the classrooms and also enjoy a day out with friends. The place is a fascinating hub of knowledge but not in a preachy, textbook manner; but rather in a much more intriguing and practical way which explains the concepts much better than simple words on a piece of paper.

Great place to visit for kids or even for adults curious to know about the cosmos. The show is great and we'll narrated. There are 3 shows in Kannada and English each. All of them worth a watch. The price is amazingly cheap and good parking facility. With booking now shifted to online platform, it's so much easy. The place is very well maintained and a very nice kids play park with some interesting scientific games. Do visit a small science games shop near the parking, I found some really cool science experiment kits here for my own personal use as well as for kids. Opposite to this is the musical water fountain, another place worth a visit to spend a weekend evening in.

The shows here are simply a treat for space nerds. The exhibits are explained in detail and are truly educational. The science park caught my curiosity and took me down the Vista where a pulley and a hook played a major role in my grades. Do come for the 4:30pm evening show: Celestial Fireworks. Explore the place, have an ice cream and simply relax 😌
