Oldest connecting Ferry service katwa and sankhai

It is the only ghat between Katwa and Sankhai. To go Sankhai, Enayetpur and Uddharanpur one can use this ghat to crossover the river. Here the Ajay and the Bhagirathi river conjugate. Conditions of this ghat are very poor. No seating facities are provided here. There is no covered area for bad weather. The passengers cross the river by boats.The life-jacket on each boat are very insufficient. Authority of this ghat should take appropriate action to maintain sufficient life-jacket on each boat.

This ghat is the station where ferry service is available to cross the River Ajay. Places like Uddharanpur, Naihati, Sitahati etc. are accessable through this ghat. The view from the confluence of the two rivers, the Ajay and the Bhagirathi-hooghly is very picturesque. The entire region is rich in flora and fauna. Gangetic Dolphins are sighted from this ghat. Many aquatic and other birds can be seen at a strech of 1km from this place.

It's a ferry ghat at the junction of Ajay and bhagirathi river. Most of the people of uddharanpur and nearby area located in the north side of Katwa come to katwa for their daily live. Frequent frerry service is there. Fare is also too less. Near about 5000 people use this ferry service daily. You can go to gangatikuri, salar by bike by using this ferry ghat.
