Nestled in the heart of Madhya Pradesh, near the village of Sirmaur in Rewa, lies a natural wonder that commands awe and admiration – the splendid Poorva Falls. With a captivating allure, these falls stand as a testament to the raw power and beauty of nature. The journey to witness this spectacular sight takes you on a road less traveled, revealing a breathtaking destination that showcases the grandeur of Mother Earth. The Poorva Falls, standing 200 feet tall (approximately 67 meters), cast a spellbinding aura that draws visitors from far and wide. This majestic cascade of water forms a striking contrast against the backdrop of the Rewa Plateau, creating a mesmerizing visual spectacle. As the name "Poorva" suggests, these falls herald a new dawn of natural beauty, inviting you to witness the awe-inspiring collision of water and earth. Nature's might is on full display here, as an immense volume of water tumbles down from the heights, creating a roar that resonates in your very being. The intensity of the falls is a testament to the unrelenting force of the river, River Toans, which descends from the cliff of the Rewa Plateau. The sight of the water plummeting down with unbridled power is both humbling and exhilarating, leaving a lasting impression that's etched into memory. The Poorva Falls, like nature herself, undergo transformations with the changing seasons. The splendor of these falls is truly realized when the rains come pouring down, transforming the landscape into a vivid painting of vibrant greens and blues. It's during this time that the falls unleash their true majesty, showcasing the incredible force of water as it plunges into the depths below. Journeying to the Poorva Falls is an adventure in itself. The roads that lead to this natural wonder are characterized by their rustic charm, offering a glimpse into the lesser-explored regions of Madhya Pradesh. As you traverse these roads, winding through picturesque landscapes, you'll encounter the serene beauty of rural life. The single-laned roads might be seen as a metaphorical path leading you away from the ordinary and towards the extraordinary. However, it's important to acknowledge that the water levels of Poorva Falls have experienced fluctuations, raising questions about the impact of human activities on the environment. Human interference, damming, and other such interventions have the potential to alter the natural rhythm of these falls. Nonetheless, when experienced at their peak, these falls rival the most renowned waterfalls in the world in terms of their beauty and grandeur. The journey to the Poorva Falls is a harmonious blend of adventure and discovery. The anticipation that builds as you approach the falls is rewarded with an indescribable sense of wonder as you stand in the presence of such natural magnificence. The sight, the sound, and the feel of the falls resonate within, evoking a deep connection to the Earth and its forces. In the realm of travel, certain destinations leave an indelible mark on the heart and soul. The Poorva Falls is undoubtedly one such place. It's a sanctuary where the sheer power of water meets the tranquility of nature, offering an experience that's both exhilarating and humbling. It's a reminder that amidst the chaos of modern life, there are places where time seems to stand still, and the marvels of the natural world unfold in all their glory. The journey to Poorva Falls is an exploration of the extraordinary within the ordinary – a testament to the fact that hidden gems of unparalleled beauty can be found in the most unexpected corners of our world. As you stand before the cascading waters, gazing up at the towering falls, you're transported to a realm where the symphony of water and earth creates a symphony that resonates deep within, leaving you with memories that last a lifetime.

Poorva Falls are located 16 kms from the village Sirmaur of Rewa, Madhya Pradesh. The Falls are 200 feet high (nearly 67 m) and present one heck of a robust view. The falls are intense and an enormous volume of water falls every second. The Falls are on River Toans, descending the cliff of Rewa Plateau. However, the Falls gain or lose their majesty with season and are best to visit when the rains are in full swing. However, the Roads to the falls are in good but single laned. However, the change in water levers may be attributed to the increased human interference with the enviroment, damming and other human activities, otherwise, when at full flow, the falls beat the best of the world in beauty and majesty

Purwa Waterfall is a stunning natural attraction in Rewa district of Madhya Pradesh. It is one of the highest waterfalls in the state, with a drop of about 70 meters (230 feet). The waterfall is formed by the Tamsa or Tons River, which flows through the Rewa Plateau and plunges down the cliff. The waterfall is surrounded by lush greenery and rocky terrain, creating a scenic contrast. I visited Purwa Waterfall during the monsoon season, when the water flow was at its peak. The sight of the roaring waterfall was mesmerizing and exhilarating. I could feel the mist and the breeze on my face as I approached the waterfall. The sound of the water was soothing and calming. I enjoyed taking pictures and videos of the waterfall from different angles and perspectives. Purwa Waterfall is also a place of historical and religious significance. It is said that this waterfall has a connection with the Hindu epic Ramayana, as it is believed that Lord Rama spent some time here during his exile. There is also a temple of Basaman Mama, a local deity, near the waterfall. Many devotees come here to worship and seek blessings. Purwa Waterfall is a must-visit destination for nature lovers, adventure seekers, and pilgrims. It is easily accessible by road from Rewa city, which is about 25 km away. There are also some hotels and restaurants nearby for accommodation and food. Purwa Waterfall is a place where you can experience the beauty and power of nature, as well as the culture and history of Madhya Pradesh.
