I spent a memorable day at Auro Crafts back in 2016, taking part in a stone carving workshop. It was very pleasant, Auro is a very talented and experienced craftsman, very passionate about his work. He also has a beautiful family, very kind and warm persons, a pleasure to talk to. Pay a visit to their shop if you wanna meet great people, and make life long memories and friends! You'll find beautiful crafts there, the perfect souvenirs and gifts for the beloved ones!

We were looking for small Ganesha statues in Puducherry, but did not find any nice ones. Auro Crafts was on the way back to Auroville and there the beautiful unique handmade small black Ganeshas with white decorations were waiting for us! Thank you Murugan!

On a search for a beautiful statue I had the pleasure to get to know the owner of this wonderful shop and his son. Both very lovely and welcoming, I felt more like a friend than like a customer there. No pressure or trying to convince me to buy something. The owner does the statues all by himself in front of the shop. It’s an amazing experience to see how a piece of stone becomes alive. Buying a statue were you can feel the love and devotion makes it very special.

We passed by really spontaneously and we are so happy that we met Ben and his lovely family. The statues are really beautiful, and you can watch the owner doing the statues in front of his shop. And we also got the chance to do a small soapstone statue by ourselves.

I got a custom piece of a bow and the shop owner was very nice and had it ready for me in a few days and the price was similar to all the other necklaces they had. I highly recommend stopping by if your in auroville!

Just in simple words "A Beautiful Experience" . I would tell that it was my luck that brought me to this place. Not only because I got to see one of best stonecrafts but also couple of beautiful souls. I wanted to get some stone figurines of God's and Goddesses for home. I thought I would give this place a try. Walked to this place for almost 4 km (just like that) and i was welcomes by two very happy people here. A father and a son. Father is an expert craftsman. I spent almost an hour and half here just talking to them. Got to understand the pain and effort put in each of them. Most of them are made by hand and not by moulds. Many varieties of Ganesha, Goddesses , Nandi, Shivling and other neutral crafts. Lots of marble crafts as well. I had more happiness talking to them and their stories. Price is very reasonable to the effort they are putting in. I didn't even bother to bargain because they deserve it. When they realised that i came by walking and i had to go back carry to bags of purchases under the scorching heat, they offered to drop me at the main road. Even though i told it's okay , they insisted to drop me. That's how good they are. If you are planning to get some gifts for home, this place is the place i would recommend. I went to buy and came back with friends and goodies. I very much hope more people find this place and support them. I pray for their success and wellbeing.
