I had the pleasure of attending Scrap Shala's DIY workshop on potpourri making, and it was an absolutely wonderful experience. Not only did I learn something new, but I also got to be a part of a creative and environmentally conscious community. After the session, I couldn't resist the temptation to check out their collection, and I ended up purchasing an upcycled keyholder made from old audio tapes. It's not just a functional item but a piece of art that tells a story. I also grabbed a fridge magnet, which is a quirky addition to my collection. What makes this experience truly special is knowing that these products are not only environmentally friendly but also support women workers. Scrap Shala's commitment to sustainability and empowering local artisans is commendable. Every time I look at the potpourri I made or use the keyholder, I'm reminded of my time in Varanasi and the small step I took to protect our environment and contribute to a worthy cause. First of all , Liked the overall vibe of this place. The products were pretty creative and had innovative side too. The owner and staff also gave us some insights on the conservation and sustainable usage of waste in our homes. Overall very good experience visiting scrapshala.

I was introduced to this at a workshop and totally admired the way they upcycled the scrap. They had made pouches with maggi packets, table mats with newspapers, scrunchies with leftover fabrics, a sound enhancer with bamboo and a pen stand with computer keyboard (which I loved best). I would always wonder what to do with the dried flowers. They finally answered my question; pot pouri. Going to try it out with my dried marigold and brahmakamala flowers. Let's see!
