One the oldest and cleanest railway station of Sealdah suburban section. At present it has 5 no of platforms. Almost all EMU local and passenger train stop here some Express train also halt here... public transport system of the station is also good.

The Circular and Metro Railways of Kolkata also offer an accessible means of transit to and from the sub-division. The platform is very much well sheltered. It has many facilities including water and sanitation. There is a proper approach road to this station. It is in proximity to the BT Road There used to be a branch line originating from Barrackpore station (code: BPPS) that served the Barrackpore Cantonment Area. Barrackpore had a racecourse behind the criminal court (far away from the station) and a special single rail track took steam engine-driven trains there, carrying British passengers who would attend the race. The line has been deprecated since.

Station with the memory of beloved leader Mahatma Gandhi. Situated at the bank of river Hoggly. One of the busiest staion.

It's good place. But platform no 1A the stairs is not good. Want to do more specious stairs..

Worse dangerous station.... No grp support available. Anyone can throw sticks and rock during journey. Stay safe.

One of the busiest ( handles around 2 lakh to 2½ lakh passengers per day ) & one of the oldest ( established in 1862 ) railway station in West Bengal . It has got nice food court just outside the station ( read platform no. 1 )
