For beginners its vey good trekk to explore. This trek is suitable for every age respectively. It takes 2 hours to reach on the top. You'll see plenty of crabs, snails and other insects so be careful. At the summit you'd witness breathtaking picturesque valley. Place gets hide in fog during monsoon.

Mahuli is the hill greenery up to 6 km high around it.Mahuli Fort, located 2815 ft above sea level, is a popular trekking and rock climbing destination. Lush green grass and trees enhance the beauty of the high and low mountains. You can see different views here, like waterfall hills small dam .This fort looks like a place straight out of Jurassic Park or Avatar, thanks to the strangely shaped pinnacles created by wind erosion over thousands of years.♥️♥️♥️♥️

Mahuli Fort is good one-day Trek near Mumbai. One can start journey on the first local train to Kasara and get down at Asangaon railway station. Asangaon railway station is the nearest station from where you can reach base village either by local ST bus or by auto. Post monsoon is the favourable time to visit the Mahuli Fort. The trail will be filled with dense vegetation and it is not advisable to trek alone.

One of the best trekking places one can have an experience. This trekk has high endurance requirements so best advice is to have little fitness and good stamina before doing this trekk. The view from up top is a mesmerizing experience. The path way is narrow but worth exploring. Not advisable for beginners as it might feel a little difficult to climb. Take a considerable amount of food and water to cater your body because sometimes it might feel a little exhausting. Be hydrated throughout the trekk. Overall it's a good trekk with moderate difficulty. Advice to have a good trekk guide to accompany you because at one level you might need help to reach up top. The best time to visit is monsoon. Have a great time. Stay safe. Happy trekking.

Mahuli fort has a long and interesting history from the 16 century when Shahaji, the great military leader of the time moved in with his son, the great Shivaji maharaj and his mother Jijabai. Numerous battles have been fought to keep possession of this strategic location by Marathas, Mughals, Portuguese and many more.. Cut to today's time, the place is now a protected area and part of the Tansa wildlife Sanctuary. It is very popular with 2 types of people, 1st with ones who are looking for trekking and adventure and the other who are interested in some wildlife and bird watching activity. I was the 2nd type and the intention was to explore and photograph the birds and wildlife of this reserve forest. To be true I went with an open mind but was pleasantly surprised by the hustle and bustle of the birds in the early hours of the morning. I tried the trek up and reached the 1st level, which was a steep climb and then a flat plateau type of a place. I got to see the very beautiful Leaf Bird there. Taking the left turn I went through a deserted trek which took me by the side of the hill onto a dry river bed. trekking up i got to see the palm headed Parakeet, the Indian robin, Ashy Prinia and the Sulphur Bellied Warbler and a number of Bulbuls. After this as the Sun was getting more intense, I decided to move down to the base. Before reaching I had to cross a dry stream and decided to follow up the same for a while and see what I can explore. After about 100 meters through the heavy boulders and away from the line of the trek I found a clear area from where I could see the hills rising up in front of me. On the left there was a junction where the stream was divided into 2 and behind me was a stretch of forested area with a lot of birds movement. I selected a flat boulder where I could lean and seat down to take some rest. While waiting here I got to see many bird species like the blue rock thrush, Rufous treepie, the black hooded oriole and many types of  sunbirds. I also got to see the Indian Skink Lizard on a big boulder on the dry river bed ahead. I wanted to wait here longer but time was not on my side and the harshness of the sun not helping eight.  All in all it is a good place for nature lovers like me and in the future I would love to visit again for a better experience with the knowledge and learning for this trip.

A Historical Gem Amidst Nature's Splendor Mahuli Fort, perched at an elevation of 2815 ft in the Mumbai district of Maharashtra, is a historical marvel enveloped by lush forests and dotted with trekking trails and rock climbing spots. The fort, part of a mountain complex, presents a breathtaking panorama and bears witness to centuries of historical significance. The fort witnessed the strategic prowess of Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, who captured it in 1658. The ebb and flow of power saw the fort changing hands, reflecting the tumultuous history of the region. The resilience of Mahuli Fort is evident in its declaration as a protected monument and its continued standing as a testament to the Maratha Empire. Trekking to Mahuli is an adventure in itself, demanding effort but rewarding trekkers with scenic vistas. The journey takes you through picturesque landscapes, culminating in a complex of three mountains and numerous pinnacles atop the fort. The forest sanctuary surrounding Mahuli adds a touch of serenity to the trekking experience. For history enthusiasts, nature lovers, and adventure seekers alike, Mahuli Fort beckons with its rich past and captivating landscapes. A visit to this historical gem promises not just a trek but a journey through time and nature's splendor.

Went for a trek with my mom and a friend and it took us 8 hours to complete it up and down 😂 should have read the reviews saying it was a moderate level trek with various types of terrain and some if it difficult to cross without prior experience or general fitness. apart from the time, we really enjoyed it. it’s a wonderful trail with some amazing scenery and flora & fauna along every stretch of trail. i would definitely recommend going here with friends and i’ll say it can be done within 6 hours up and down if you’re young and have good endurance.

WRONG LOCATION ❌❌ Plz search "mahuli fork parking" for exact location otherwise u will get lost like me on above location. Trek is easy and took 2 hours to reach at the top, During monsoon it is very beautiful trek otherwise go early morning as possible (6am) to avoid intense heat on top. Must visit "maha darwaja" which is hardly 5min from top. Well marked routes.
