Oldest bar in Goa with a very good vibe. The area near the bar was also amazing with colourful bungalows. Try local beer in Joseph bar like 8 finger Edie's & People's Lager

One of the few places that is worth the hype. Love the rustic old school bar feels. Very basic seating. Fast service. We went in the afternoon, it wasn't too crowded luckily. Had some feni cocktails. A place with a lot of history. Walls have some great art. Would definitely visit again. P.S - Not a great place for food though since they don't have an in-house kitchen.

Old fashioned bar with it's own vibe. Feni and all kind alcohols are available with some good starter foods. It's a bit cozy, that's why it is always overcrowded but a good place to visit with friends for a glass of feni 😊 Tambde Rosa is my favourite do try it👍

Blink and you'll miss Joseph Bar. It's a tiny little place on a side street. Very unassuming from the outside. But we just loved the place. It has existed since colonial times, and hasn't been redecorated or renovated since. Some may find it tatty, but we loved it's quirky charm and authentic character, and the warmth of its staff and visitors. We dont like sterile boring modern. Great music too when we were there. Drinks wise, there's a limited menu of beer and spirits, with the focus on locally made feni. And hey you can get a cocktail here (Tambde Rosa) that's Joseph Bar's very own invention, made from feni, kokum and other top secret ingredients! If this bar was in my town, I'd be in there every night. Loved it. Been here 4 times now :) its a must visit for me everytime Im in Goa

This is one of the most visually beautiful bars I have ever seen. The interior of this bar was so old school and carelessly maintained which gave a very different look in the inside and looked like a 1890s horror movie setup. I will give a 10/10rating in the interior they have. The service was not that great as they were very busy. The area is small but that's what makes it unique. The whole locality is very old. All the old buildings. The food was good. I cannot say much as it's already renowned and famous for the feni based cocktails and local food. I talked to one of the workers and came to know that after Mr. Joseph had passed away the ownership was transferred to a third party and they are running the bar beautifully now. It's one of the oldest bars in Panjim. To feel the oldness to feel the charm to feel the local taste one must visit the bar. This is highly recommended.

One of the oldest bar present in Goa. Joseph Bar is always one of my favourite Bar to hangout with friends. Located in the beautiful lanes of Fontainhas. Evening time the bar is completely jam packed. Do visit this Bar whenever you are visiting Goa along with your group. Gundu - The Bartender is superb. Do try his magic. Long live Joseph Bar.

Joseph Bar in Goa is a hidden gem for those seeking an authentic and traditional beer experience. Nestled in the heart of Goa, this charming establishment exudes a rustic charm that transports visitors to a bygone era. The highlight is the locally brewed beer, crafted with time-honored methods, delivering a rich and distinctive flavor. The ambiance is unpretentious, with wooden interiors and a laid-back vibe, providing an ideal setting for socializing with friends or immersing oneself in the local culture. The staff, often locals with a deep passion for their craft, enhance the overall warmth of the place. While the selection may be limited compared to modern breweries, Joseph Bar stands out for its commitment to preserving the essence of traditional Goan brewing, making it a must-visit for beer enthusiasts and cultural explorers alike.

Joseph bar is situated at Fontainthas which resembles the old school Goan bar. The bar is extremely small with a seating capacity of max 25 people and is aesthetically built around rustic drinking style. Must try local beers. We tried chicken liver along with some local beer and it was extremely delicious. Fehni mango chili drink is also a must try and popular.

This bar is somewhat overhyped, but it does have a great atmosphere and reasonably priced drinks. The menu is quite limited, with not many exciting options, but they do serve excellent drinks. It's the kind of place you go to if you want to soak up the vibe and show off on social media that you've been to this iconic Goa bar. However, if you're not into that, you might want to explore other options. Also, I'd advise you to skip the laeger craft beer; there are better choices in Goa.

A perfect place to meet new people, make new friends and hangout. It's a small bar, and bustling with people. This is one of those places which locals frequently visit, so chat up with those who are there and you'll get to know so much about Goa. Loved the vibe, and the feni cocktails

Really Great Place, Especially the vibe and the ambience. It's supposed to be one of the oldest bar in Goa. Small seating capacity of 11-15 seats. The food is is great, especially the Chicken Cafreal. The mocktail option is very limited, but the kokum based juice was great. Service is quick with a service person who's very friendly. Parking is an issue in this area. Worth visiting if you want old century vibe and are in or around Fontainhas in Panjim.

It is more of an iconic rustic place to hangout with a unique vibe to the place. Must visit just for a sheer experience of the very old bars operating out of a room or two. This place was taken over by someone (not from Joseph family), however, they’ve tried to keep the place running on the same old theme as much possible. Their Tambdi Rosa (feni kokum cocktail) is a must try that has flavours of local home made cashew feni (alcohol) with kokum and lemon to it. Food menu is not vast esp. in veg it is highly limited, however, they sourced a couple of items for us from nearby. Veg Jackfruit dish was quite nice and mushroom risotto was decent too. They do accept cards for payment but don’t think they generate any computerised bills. We also had a chance to catch up with the current owner who was nice and also briefed us about a bit of history of the place. You can also club ur visit along with fontainhas tour.

It's an iconic place in panaji. A good place for a drink. The atmosphere and the surrounding architecture is mesmerizing but it has very limited seating and food options on the menu. Due to the old construction the place becomes a mess when it starts raining

Been wanting to go to this place since last last year, finally got to go this time and was totally worth it. Located on a colorful street in Panaji It's a very small old goan bar with wobbly tables, wooden stools, old rusty decor and amazing music. The place has a soul. We tried the mango chilli cocktail which is one of their specialities. Loveeeed itttt! We had ordered some chicken wings too, they were also quite good. It can be a perfect place for evening hangouts or a place to have endless conversations over some amazing drinks and that too in budget.

One of the oldest bars of Goa which dates back to the 70s. This place has a very nostalgic vibe and is kind of rustic. We tried the famous tambde rosa which was flavoursome. Also tried the pork belly and chicken cafreal which were delicious. A must visit place if you want to experience old-school Goa vibes.

Joseph bar is probably the best place in Goa to sit, relax, eat some delicious food and socialize with random beautiful people. It was a memorable evening well spent. The place grows on to you. Parking will be a difficulty if you come during the weekend and especially in a car. But otherwise it's beautiful location to just relax with a drink.

A great ruin type bar near the heart of Panjim. The staff here are very friendly and always try to find a seating place during rush hours. Do try the peoples beer and Goa pork sausages. The place has a very nice rustic type of feel, small , cozy. They also have homemade cocktails.

We went there on watching some Insta reels and posts We thought we can find some excitement. But food is not so good, i had some burned Manchuria in veg Fenny is awesome, speechless but costs too high. They don't make you even to sing a song after one drink, they call some locals and threaten you to go out and sing. It's too small in size washrooms are not clean. The audacity is completely business but not customer satisfaction. Please don't expect much by watching those Insta reels and status.

This tiny bar is the oldest in the area and has managed to remain authentic in terms of the look and feel lf the place. This bar is very small, mostly overcrowded, but the vibe is amazing. It is the most happening place in Fontainhas, Goa. If you're a woman, be prepared to be welcomed with a pretty rose. The food and drinks are pretty inexpensive and you can drink and dine to your heart's fill.

My experience of sitting in a very old bar/building in the very beautiful Fontainhas was superb. This place is not a bar. It's a Vibes. The vibe is just amazing you feel relaxed and happy and the host is very friendly. if you think you don't like Feni must come to here and have Kokum rosy Feni and thenafter you definitely thank me for this drink. The prices of drinks are very economical, This is a must must place to visit. When in Goa, this is a must must visit. #josephbar #bar

This is very famous and probably you might have to wait for the table here as it in demand and also because it's small local Goan bar. They provide selected items to eat here. You'll get mostly all types of drinks here. The vibe is very awesome, they play local music, people chit chat with each other, you can make new friends here, so this a very very happening bar here in Panaji. It's just inside the fontainhas. You can enjoy there. Evening is a total vibe here. Must visit at least once when you visit Goa.

Kind of an overrated bar with a great atmosphere and mildly affordable prices but the menu is very limited and not many great options but the drinks were great. It’s only for the people who like to feel the vibe and show off on social media that you went to this iconic bar in goa !! Other than that don’t keep much hopes on this and just move on to different place.

This is a tourist trap, but of a good kind. A true neighbourhood, village bar, this is a place to really kick back and relax at. No fuss over drinks, no fuss over the food. Just a bunch of friends hanging out and having Tambde. Oh and the occasional craft spirit. When you do go there, say hi to George, the most entertaining service agent you will have.

It's an old bar which was once a watch shop, the ambience is old themed and it is only from those who love alcohol. So please don't visit if you are not fond of alcohol. The menu is very short and 90% of the items are unavailable due to unknown reasons. The place is very small and please don't expect much from this place as it is an old bar which runs in a classic style. So if you are visiting please do try the People's Lager it's a local craft beer which is brewed from rice and is very good. I was fully disappointed when I tried to order 2-3 of their dishes present on the menu, but they only had dry chilly chicken, so I ordered that only. And it was not up to the mark.

I used to come here during my college days.. was a nice place to hang out. It's honestly a great place for a drink.. but the food was definitely one of my worst meals ever. It was cold and the pork vindaloo definitely was a few days old for sure. So definitely stop by for a drink...but eat elsewhere.

Oh! What an awesome experience! The signature drink is 'Tambdi' with Feni as the main liquor cocktailed with Kokum Syrup and a dash of lime and topped with ice cubes and rosepetals... A must have... A very cramped but cozy place with the right vibes for an evening out... Also lucky to have met the 'Pehla Nasha' girl pooja bedi who was on a 10 best bar hopping spree with her friends... A must visit.. Will be a fight to get your seats but when you get.. You may to share with others and thus make impromptu new friends.... Cheers!

I recently visited Joseph Bar in Goa, and my experience was average. The ambiance was lively, with good music playing in the background. The service was decent, although it could have been more attentive. They do not have much starter or snack options. The drinks were alright, but nothing exceptional. Overall, the prices are not worth the foo quality & place. It's an okay place to hang out with friends, but there are other options in Goa that offer a more memorable experience.

A very cute and a small bar which looks rusty. Amazing drinks but very little choice from the menu. I didn't like the food much but overall it was an amazing time spent over there. Very friendly people, if you want to drink and make new friends I'd suggest this place. Also, the plus point Is that it's very close to the panaji bus station so you can catch your bus after chilling here for sometime.

This bar has a different vibe. Good place for your keeping up your Instagram game. Just went there after lunch for a quick beer and some photos. The place was not crowded on a weekday afternoon. The lanes surrounding the bar are must to explore with beautiful houses, but the house owners are very arrogant and abusive and won't let you take pictures in front of their respective houses.
