One of the oldest churches in Shillong. You get an instant liking & connect to this church. Thanks to the members who have tried every efforts to maintain its history & character to this place. Had the chance to attend the Easter Sunday Service as well & the Choir was amazing.. just loved the place..

Located in the heart of the city. One of the oldest churches of shillong. It's a massively spread area which is clean and so peaceful. Architecture and seating is nice. The church usually used khasi language on the sermons which is widely spoken language in Shillong and near by. You can take a sharing 10 seater auto from centre point police bazaar to reach this church. This is located exactly opp State central library which was built during Britishers. The history says this church was built in 1877 but was completely destroyed during a massive earthquake in 1897 but was reconstructed in 1902.

This church is a must-visit if you're visiting Shillong. Go in the evenings to see if lighted up. Go during the day to appreciate the old English architecture and interiors. The priests and church people are warm and welcoming and are happy for you to look around and take pictures even. Attend the church service in the morning on Sundays at 9 am for travel back in time! Would highly recommend visting this church and service too if you can. Location is an added bonus as it is right in the middle of the town in between Ward's Lake and Lady Hydari Park.

Beautiful church in the centre of the town. Was there around Christmas-New Year time so was decorated nicely. Night-time view was excellent with mist engulfing the whole place and lights giving a warm glow.

Beautiful heritage site in town. The structure is so beautifully designed in the British and Gothic style. The intricate designs are something that we will never see or will be very difficult to re make again in today's world. The Burmese teaks are some of the amazing structure that withhold the entire structure. However this is a place of worship, it is urged for visitors to maintain decency and respect.

What a beautiful church! The legacy of the British, it comes from the Anglican Church tradition, belonging to the Church of North India (CNI). The seat of CNI's Diocese of Northeast India, it has the Bishop's beautiful kuti (cottage) located right next door. The church dates back to 1876. Inside the building, the pews, pulpit and rafters of the tall ceiling are made from old wood, giving the feeling of ruggedness and solidity. The alter is adorned with just the cross. The exterior of the church is made from cement, wood and metal, covered by small, dark tiles that look like a local variety of slate. The window panes are topped by curving pieces of stained glass. A tablet affixed just outside the door Set in beautiful grounds, this church exudes peace even in the midst of traffic. A great place to admire British church architecture and to contemplate on life.

We were returning form Shillong to Guwahati on a Sunday and we had absolutely no plan of visiting this place. However since it was crowded lightly on account of the Sunday, we took a sudden interest in crossing the entrance and see inside. It is one of the most beautiful churches that I have been. Be it the cleanliness, the greenery or the planned design. If you are at Shillong on a Sunday, do visit a church. For the vibrant spirituality will really brighten your mind . The merry children who come for their Sunday lessons will hop around providing you immense delight.

Wonderful church. An Anglican Church made in the 19th century by the British. A must see.

Beautiful church with a lot of history. It was closed when we reached, but one community lady asked us if we wanted to see the place and let us be inside the church. 😁

A very beautiful Cathedral. We could enjoy the premises although the cathedral door was closed. Walking around the area is very nice, you can also see parts of Shillong on panaroma. No entry fees.
