Surreal, very calming environment. We went in the morning and reached around 9 am. The surroundings were very good. We were amazed by the beauty of nature. Due to clouds it was difficult to see some things. Also you have to be careful while walking as things are not clearly visible due to clouds. Recommend to read history before visiting the fort, so you can feel the importance of the place when you are walking there. I don't recommend visiting on Sunday because there will be huge traffic jams as most of the people park their vehicles on the road side. Even when we visited on Saturday, when we left around 2 in the afternoon we were stuck around 1 hr. Another suggestion is you can trek route, I did not go that route, so not sure about the difficulty. Next time definitely I am definitely going to trek to Sinhagad Fort.

Great place to visit. It is very much crowded so I recommend you should visit it as early as possible. I visited around 8 am and it was somewhat crowded, so will recommend you should also visit around or if possible..before 8 am. Also the place is very beautiful with some amazing scenes, great place to visit with family and friends, and even couples can have a great time and enjoy the adventure.

Entry fee is 100 rs for the car and there is ample parking available at the hill top. It's an easy trek but avoid walking after 11 am. Lots of food options available

Awesome place. Must visit this place in monsoon. Best time to visit this fort is in morning time. If you reach early you will get proper parking place and less crowd. If you visit this place after 1PM then there are chances that there will be huge crowd and you might get stuck in traffic and finding a proper parking. The hill is stiff so if you driving a car or bike you should be careful and drive safely.

Strongly recommended for everyone. weekend are little too crowded but you can visit it early in the morning when there are fewer people around you can actually enjoy the breathtaking scenery, delicious food & oh so pleasant atmosphere

Visited just two weeks back. And I am so happy that I witnessed the beauty of Sinhagad during monsoons. It’s indeed very visible in the pictures. You can check it out. Since it is a bit far from the main city and you might find traffics on the way, I would suggest you to visit early in the day instead of going in the evening. If you are visiting in evening after 3 PM you might not be able to explore everything. Since the place covers good geographical area. Even if you are visiting in morning, you can spend the whole day there as it has good places to sit and relax. Food is easily available there. Also, you can visit with family for a weekend picnic . 😇 Regarding vehicle and parking, I would suggest not to park on the way up on roadsides, as it causes more traffic. Go till the end you can find plenty of space for parking on the top.

Great place for half day outing and picnic with friends and family. One should be ready to walk around to explore views and absorb the vibes. Could be made better if proper focus is there to maintain this heritage site

Sinhagad Fort offers a captivating historical experience with breathtaking views. The trek to the fort is invigorating, and once at the top, you're rewarded with panoramic vistas. The historical significance is rich, adding depth to the visit. However, facilities may be basic, so come prepared. Overall, a must-visit for history enthusiasts and nature lovers alike.

This is one of the most famous destinations for a picnic, day travel and trekking for people residing in and around Pune city. During the lockdown, the concrete road has been repaired and vehicles can now ply directly to the gate of the fort. This has recently been thrown open to the public. Best time to go is in the morning. Once you trek your way to the top, there are plenty of sites spread over the plateau to roam around. There are plenty of small vendors selling local stuff to eat and it is advisable to savour a sample of each. Views are fantastic. It is recommended to visit this place during monsoons when the water falls are galore, the scene is green and weather is pleasant. The place has a special Kanda Bhaji - Onion Pakodas which one should try.

Avoid to go on weekends because you will be irritate while traffic and no proper management from their side. Parking place is quite less so kindly go on week days if possible. They took charge of 100rs of 4 wheeler entry but place is good to visit with wonderful atmosphere and enjoy local food from there

If you plan to visit sinhagad. There are few things you need to keep in mind. First and most important visit the place early in the morning. Plan in such a way that you reach there by 6am. The more delayed it gets the more rushed the place gets like really overly crowded. Hence plan early and you are going to enjoy the mesmerizing view. Second important thing is if you are going there during rainy season. Ensure you wear good footwear with good grip, sports shoes is what I would suggest. There are many accidents reported wherein people slip from stairs and get injured badly. Take precautions and be safe. Other than this i don't think there is anything more to tell. Have a great journey. Cheers 🥂

Nice place to plan an adventure day.. Two options are available to reach the fort. First by trekking and second by the road. At the fort, you can do a lot of sightseeing. For foodies, great local options are available. The only concern points are.. If you visit by own 4 wheeler, you might be facing a parking problem on a crowded day. And the second is.. Housekeeping in the area can be improved. If you are planning a trip for the first time, better plan a whole day. Really you can spend a complete day over there and still you will feel there is so much to do.

Awesome place for chilling... Fantastic place !! Full of green, covered in the mountains. Sometimes you might see a bit traffic in your way up. But Sinhagad Fort is a must visit. Also, please make a note 2 wheeler & 4 wheeler can directly make way to the top of the fort. It's an easy incline. Enjoy!!

Trek Up. Sinhagad becomes exquisitely green and beautiful during the rains and so trekking up the fort in those misty early morning is the best way to explore it. On an average, it will take you anywhere between 90-120 mins to reach the top depending on your level of fitness.

One of the must visit place in monsoon. Best month to visit October. The fort has two routes concrete route and trekking route. If you want to go by trekking route you should prefer morning time. The trek is quite easy and it will take around 1 2 hours to climb. Food is easily available on fort. Avoid visiting on Sunday because fort is fully crowded with trekkers and tourists.

The fort is fascinating but has become a marketplace with stalls at every step. This needs to be regulated so that one can enjoy the view while making their way to the top. The view is excellent and ideal for photography.

First trek in my life. I went with a group of 35-40 people so I had amazing company overall and a lot of experts to guide me because I was a complete noob. Such a serene experience going up, we were guided by a bunch of cute little puppies until the way to the top. I'd recommend a good pair of trekking shoes with good friction and support so that you won't slip there. Be careful while climbing because there were definitely some weak spots throughout. Good rural Maharashtrian breakfast up top, amazing experience overall.

Hi everyone, The fort is just as ancient as it is. And the place is wide open and has great views. You can spend an amazing time over here. Can't be explored within a day, as you'll come here and walk along and sit in a spot for the peace of the destination. For this you must visit as early as possible in the morning because it's really crowded mostly on weekends. So do reach here by 6 am if possible and have a glance at the wonderful sunrise. Thus you can walk over the place, take pictures and keep it on as you wish. The best part is that it is really open and the everlasting view of it is just mesmerizing. Do go out with your friends and families. Do eat bhaje there and the rest of the items as per your needs. Must visit. Can be visited multiple times a year. Good luck!

I recently visited Sinhagad Fort and was blown away by the beauty and history of the place. The trek to the fort was a bit challenging but definitely worth the effort. The fort is well-preserved, and it was fascinating to explore the ancient structures and ruins. The views from the top of the fort are absolutely breathtaking. Despite not having a guide, I was able to learn a lot about the fort's history and significance through the various information boards and displays. The atmosphere of the fort is very serene, and it was a great escape from the city's hustle and bustle. Overall, I would highly recommend visiting Sinhagad Fort to anyone looking for an adventure and a chance to explore India's rich history and culture. It's a great place to spend a day with family and friends and create some unforgettable memories..

I visited this place in the month of December and it was an absolute delight. When you reach the top of the fort, you will get the hill station feels. Also there are many stops for snacks, lunch and other refreshments. Although you need to be careful while driving and it's very crowded and the slopes are quite steep.

Went with my friends on Christmas. Had to park bike on roadside because of Traffic on narrow mountain road. Parking on top is sufficient for plenty vehicles on weekdays. Good place for trekking and clicking beautiful pictures. Fort in itself is in very bad shape but the overall experience of expedition out from city makes a trip to Sinhagadh worthwhile.

One of the best experiences to live with. If planning to visit the fort, plan early morning trek. 3 km climb a bit exhausting but once you reach at the peak, its rejuvenating. Carry water bottle and wear proper grip wale shoes 😂 And after the visit one gains more strength then lost as one is blessed by the spirit of the ford and its history.

We visited fort on June 2023 with family members. Fort is awesome. Feels like stepping back in time. But forest department(authority who is maintaining the Fort)/maharashtratourism should provide few public points of drinking water on fort. There is not a single place where visitors can drink water. There are local shops who are charging too high for 1 liter of water bottle. Suggestion for visitor, Take adequate drinking water with you.

One of the best places in Pune. Very near from city, best time to visit in monsoon, foggy and cloudy all around. Other than monsoons, best time would be evenings. You will get to witness best sunsets ever. Food options available on top, little costly but worth. There are two options to reach the top. By trek, your own vehicle and jeeps available at entrance. Best would be the Bike ride. Once you reach the top 15-20 mins walk to reach at view points. You can spend whole day at this fort. Please avoid littering. Also one tip: too much crowd on weekends. Otherwise avoid weekends.

Couldn’t reach the top of the fort because of heavy traffic. Went half way and had to turn back. Traffic congestion alert was for an hour. The fort needs better traffic management. We had to pay a nominal fee of 100rs for car entry. We visited on a Saturday and it was very crowded. But of course the view was amazing! Not recommended for a weekend 5-5 for the view but the experience was irritating because of traffic and crowd Couldn’t enjoy the amazing food because didn’t reach. Plan your trip keeping the traffic and crowd in mind

Great experience.... The trip is one of the best for me.. Complete foggy surroundings with rains in between, Just make it perfect for trek.... I visited it on Monday... Moderate public with good light. Drive carefully through the ghat and walk carefully during the trek.. Take a snap of the map at the beginning for a better experience, though there are proper guiding hordings in the way.... Just make sure you leave the place early so that you reach down early before night. Try to start trek as early as possible. Food is available sufficiently. Parking is no issue. Take some cash with you as sometimes the network doesn't work properly.

Fort is located in stunning natural beauty on top of hill. You can reach there by bike or car. Parking space is available there on top. After parking there is a small trek of around 10- 15 minutes to enter the fort. Inside the fort snacks , water bottle and other small shops are available. 1 hour is enough for young and fit person to visit all around inside the fort. Old-age person may take 2-3 hours. I visited there on 24th September 2023 and spend 1.5 hours. Weather was very nice and cloudy.

Trek was fun and there were many rest stops along the way. The fort itself was very beautiful. One thing was that if you stopped walking people would come up to you and ask to come to their stalls for eating. The food was also good up there. There is also a jeep service which you can take. 10/10 would recommend.

A great experience for any trekking/hiking enthusiast, the trek is not very hard, and can be moderately difficult for beginners. I started early and got to see the sunrise with beautiful scenery, and will advise others to do the same. The air is fresh and there are small vendors selling refreshments at every short distance. One should definitely visit once to gain the experience.

Amazing history and rich heritage to see. Experience The vastness of Sahyandris and wander under the beautiful skies on a winter morning. The fresh cold winter breeze along with mesmerising vistas are breathtaking. A great spot to visit with family or for some adventure trekking. Extremely unfortunate the way the entire fort premises is maintained. Kills the heritage quotient with hundreds of vendors sprawling across. Poor sanitation and public convenience facilities. The government must take serious steps for preservation and giving the visitors in-depth understanding of its rich cultural and geopolitical significance and its role in Indian history. #saveHeritage #SaveOurForts #SaveSinhagad from becoming a forgotten chapter in history. Parking management is pretty poor and many ways of making the overall experience a memorable and unique.

Very beautiful and scenic place, just 45-75 min drive from pune (depending on your location) Entry fee: if you are coming in a private car or cab, pay Rs 100 flat. Wait time: During weekends, you may have to wait up to 2 hrs at the entrance itself. Try coming early in the morning to avoid waiting time. Best timings: early morning, you can even come before 6 am and experience the morning breeze. Food, Snacks: many outlet and most of them serving good quality at reasonable rates. Washroom: Be careful washrooms are paid and not very clean, bit unhygienic too and at a distance.

The best place to go with your family, friends and kids. Do visit early morning for the best view. You can get also trekking experience there if you are adventure freak or if you want then you can directly go by road to the top. The best time to go there is monsoon and winter. A historical spot. Needs cleanliness. Nature sights are amazing. 1 hour trek to the top of the hill. The walls, gates, doorways, still stand still witnessing history.

Nice climb and trek climbing up from the base. Takes over an hour of steady trekking with a steep climb up. The trek up does get crowded with many enthusiasts. The fort itself has great views from the top. However, it has been excessively commercialized with hundreds of food vendors inside the fort.

Amazing Fort spread across different points and different Doors of Entry. Well Built for visitors visit. Ample parking space is available at the fort. People drive via Two Wheelers at the location. Ghat road is also well maintained. Different foods and water facilities are available at the fort at a minimal cost. On the way to Sinhagad Fort we also covered Khadakwasla Dam.

Best place for rainy season. Foggy environment most time in rainy season. Too popular place!!! So, expect rush. Specifically on weekends. If you drive by car then you will encounter with heavy traffic after 9:00 am. You may need to wait at entrance as limited traffic allowed on fort. So, need to wait at entrance till it clears out. Plenty veg food available at fort at reasonable rate. Only veg allowed on fort! Basically, good place for family time!

Historical place to visit. Avoid visit in weekends due to crowd and traffic. Morning & Evening scenes are amazing mostly in rainy days and winter. Small kiosk available start from down to up. Washroom & parking facility available on paid basis. I would say it's required 3Hrs to round the Fort. I love the place and food available there. Carry water bottle and home made food if you don't want to spend money.

It's my favorite place to visit , visit any season you get different vibes. Food is awesome, you can't compare with even 5star hotel. Best place to visit any time ( best in Monsoon, its like heaven), but on Weekend's may be face to mush rush, not getting parking

It's such a beautiful fort, and has so much history behind it. There is tons of food and you can see beautiful panoramic views from the top. I would recommend going on a weekday if possible since many people visit on the weekends and it will be crowded. Roads are narrow but very well maintained

A must Visit Place if you are in Pune ,Thank you!

Sinhagad Fort, formerly known as 'Kondhana,' stands as an iconic landmark in Pune, steeped in historical significance. Situated 25 km from Pune atop a 1290 m high hill, the fort showcases the valor of Shivaji and his forces during its recapture from the Mughals. The stunning views of mountains and valleys instill a sense of awe, complemented by the strong pride vibes surrounding the site. The fort houses the samadhi of Tanaji Malusare and a Mahadev Temple at its summit, contributing to the spiritual ambiance. Accessible by both driving and trekking, the journey to the fort offers flexibility. However, be prepared for weekend crowds, as the fort attracts a significant influx of visitors. Sinhagad Fort, a testament to history and natural beauty, provides a captivating experience for those seeking a blend of adventure and cultural exploration.

If u wanna experience cold and hard winds go early in the morning and bring a jacket but it soon get pretty warm around 10 a.m. It's a pretty good hiking and walking experience. No Fort to see as everything is demolished u can only see some structure otherwise it is just foundation. Pretty bad cell phone coverage which should be improved.

Singhad fort is located around 50 Kms from Pune and 220 Kms from Mumbai. So day trip from Pune is good and easy to undertake while from Mumbai it will take lot of driving. Historically it is the fort by whose capture Marathas and Shivaji consolidated their power and enabled them to expand further to North India. Tanhaji Malsure now made popular by blockbuster eponymous movie. Tanhaji's samadhi is in the fort and he was martyred in the battle to win the fort. Overall fort is well maintained only nuisance can be multitude of locals who hav set up make shift dhabas in fort premises. Another pain factor for non maraths is that most of the information about place and battle is in Marathi hence unreadable by non-marathis. Since fort is on hill top the view is scenic and beautiful. The fort itself has thick vegetation which allows shade from the sun and lends itself to good number of picnic spot to enjoy. Overall a worthwhile trip to make for learning history, enjoying nature and konkan range.

Historical big hill fort is having good fortification, bastions, gates, temple, water ponds and many monuments. A memorial to 'Chhatrapati Rajaram Maharaj' and 'Tanaji Malusare' on this fort. The Kaundinyeshwar temple, the caves indicate that this fort had probably been built 2000 years back. Shivaji Maharaj’s in a clever move gained control of Kondana in 1647. But, in 1649, it had to be handed over to Adilshah for Shahaji Maharaj’s freedom. And soon recaptured it back. Unfortunately it went into the hands of the Mughal army chief Mirzaraje Jaysingh, in the year 1665 on account of treaty. Of all the important events associated with this fort, the fort is most well known for the legendary climb by Tanaji Malusare that helped the Marathas to conquer the fort on 4th February 1670. It stayed under Maratha rule till 1689. After Chhatrapati Sambhaji’s death the Mughals gained its control. Again in 1693 the Marathas captured it. Rajaram Maharaj died on Sinhagad on the 3rd of March 1700 & in 1703 Aurangjeb conquered it. In 1707, it once again went into the hands of the Marathas & remained with them till 1818, when the British conquered it.

Inside the fort , here are many things to explore and you get to see different views of mountains and valley all around.

  • 5/5 Guru 3 years ago on Google
The fort is good but not much part is there, only remains are there. It is an old fort built somewhere around 1300 AD, whereas Lohagad fort was built in around 1700 AD, this is the reason why Lohagad fort is much well preserved. Still Sinhagad fort is a historic location and earlier it was called kondhana. It is shown in the movie Tanhaji: The unsung Warrior (of Ajay Devgan). The road to the fort from Pune goes through a highway and is good. After that bad road starts in the hill and it goes till the fort. But the steepness is nothing as compared to the steepness of Lohagad fort. We can get many fruits there to eat like mulberries. There is nothing much to see in this fort, but because of its historical importance, it is quite popular.

The fort is really beautiful no doubt..A suggestion is that the local people shops should be setup just below the fort where all restaurants are so that people maintain value of this fort..People can eat food there but people throw plastic bottles and other things inside the fort..I really felt this can be done to improve the surrounding area of the fort and to keep the respect that this fort deserves

Garh aala pan Sinha Gela - We won the fort put lost the lion. This is one of the most famous destinations for a picnic, day travel and trekking for people residing in and around Pune city. During the lockdown, the concrete road has been repaired and vehicles can now ply directly to the gate of the fort. This has recently been thrown open to the public. Best time to go is in the morning. Once you trek your way to the top there are plenty of sites spread over the plateau to roam around.

Fort is very clean. Food stalls are also at very good places and offer good experience of eating pithal bhakari under tree, loved it. Samadhi of Tanaji malusare is now open. Try to reach before sunrise. If you are going at top by bike or car on Sunday then please make sure you will leave fort before 10 otherwise it may take around 2-3 hours to reach down.

Best place to go away from your routine....in the dense forest..surrounded by mountains...placed at top of the mountain and the good thing is , it's very near to pune (arround 37 km). You can visit at any season and you will enjoy it every time you visit...food is also available at fort but not big hotels ...they are small huts providing food manged by local peple near fort...they serve village food ( pital bhakar, vangyach bharit and chatani etc)..for snaks bhel, shenga, fruit slices can be found...best place for one day trip with family...one thing to be caucious about is traffic ..mostly crowded on weekends.

  • 5/5 Chandan J. 2 years ago on Google
This is a beautiful place to spend some peaceful time in. The fort itself has huge area once you enter inside. You get lots of snacking items and good traditional food as well. Inside the fort one can get a lot of peaceful areas under trees and small water bodies where they can just sit and relax. Also considering the historical significance of the place, its really a "should visit" place if you're in Pune.

  • 5/5 Ganesh 2 years ago on Google
A good place near Pune for a day hike. You can either climb the fort from the foot or drive a vehicle and the go around the fort. If you drive a car then there is likelihood of parking getting full and people start parking on the narrow road creating problems while returning. You will get local food over here which is quite tasty.

  • 5/5 Apurva R. 10 months ago on Google
I loved spending time here.Start early in the morning as it gets really hot here. There are food options available at the fort. These are made by people staying there this don't expect much ambience or variety.Taste is good though. Two wheelers preferred. Also washroom is available before entering the fort near parking area.Fort is clean .Dustbins available. Please keep it clean.

Easily the best fort in the world. Scenery, history, atmosphere, everything gets as rich as it can. Next level experience. Must visit for any mountain, photography, and nature lover. Next to visit on a weekday.

Awesome place for visiting in monsoon. very easy trek. Breathtaking sightseeing 😍 Very near from pune ( approximately 40km) and obviously a great historical fort in Maharashtra.

  • 5/5 Shubham R. 9 months ago on Google
I've had the pleasure of visiting this remarkable destination three times, each during a different weather season, and the monsoon visit was truly exceptional. If you're searching for the perfect weekend getaway, look no further. The trek is a pleasant blend of easy and moderate, taking around an hour to complete. But if you prefer a thrilling bike ride, the road leading to the peak is absolutely amazing. The beauty of this place transcends the seasons, but there's something magical about the monsoon. The lush greenery and refreshing rain create a captivating atmosphere. The trek offers breathtaking views, and the bike ride to the peak is an adventure in itself. Trust me, this destination will steal your heart and provide a rejuvenating escape, whether you're embracing the monsoon or embarking on a thrilling bike expedition. Don't miss out on this perfect spot for an unforgettable weekend getaway.

Amazing place. Visit early in morning in raining season to avoid traffic. Entry fee is Rs. 50 for two wheeler and you can reach almost top of fort. Food is okay and you can get it at reasonable rate on fort.

  • 5/5 piyush k. 6 months ago on Google
Well maintained fort, a remnants of past glory of Maharashtra, if you want adventure i definitely recommend to climb up the whole mountain, instead of getting to the door Shep of the fort. Really wonderful place.

Very scenic picture. Great historic cum hilly place. Variety of foods available. Best time you visit is in August to September. Go and enjoy with your family and friends. Must place to visit in Pune.

One of the best place to visit in monsoon. there were clouds touching to ground when I visited sinhagad fort. That was a great experience. You will see not only history but also nature.

  • 5/5 Atharva W. 5 months ago on Google
The fort has some stunning views from the top. You can experience the panoramic views of the mountain. Reaching the top you can restaurants thay serves authentic traditional food. Overall its a perfect mini trip that can be planned during weekends.

  • 5/5 Mandar M. 5 months ago on Google
Excellent place to visit on weekday early morning especially in rainy season. You get lush green view of the Sinhgad fort vally. You can take your vehicle right at the top if you don't want to hike. For 2 wheeler they charge ₹50 for parking. Avoid visiting in weekends. It gets crowded. You get good food at the top.

  • 4/5 Niranjan Hulamudde (. 5 months ago on Google
One of the easiest forts to be trekked, you can directly reach by the road to the top. The view is good, better in the rainy season, ig(maybe next year I'll go again...) Nothing much to see though, except for the horse stable carved under the rock, and the gates. You can enjoy the local meals such as Zunka Bhakri and more at the top. All in all a good spot for one day picnic with your friends/family. (Avoid weekends, if possible, medium crowds, sometimes could be high during festivity times)
