A place of pride and emotions for Manipur. It is a memorial to an important chapter in Manipur's history - the Anglo-Manipur war. From tourism perspective the maintainence needs to be increased.

Beautiful place. It’s a memorial for the brave warriors who lost their lives in the Anglo Manipuri war. Worth seeing place. You have to buy an entry ticket. One can drive a car to the hill top memorial. Stairway also available. A small artificial lake is near by.

Khongjom War Memorial. Situated at a distance of some 35 km from Imphal city, Khongjom War Memorial is a historical attraction located on Kheba Hill on Indo-Myanmar road. Khongjom War Memorial is one of the popular tourist place in Thoubal district that reminds the visitors about the war which held between the locals of Manipur and the British Army in 1891. Specifically, the memorial is dedicated to Major General Paona Brajabashi who martyred while serving for his motherland. Major Brajabashi was one of the great soldiers from Manipur who showed his utmost courage and valour against the invading British Army in 1891. Besides, Khongjom War Memorial also serves as the reminiscent of the brave warriors, the state of Manipur has produced in the past, who fought for their native land. Every year, Khongjom day is celebrated on 23rd April in the memorial complex. At present, the Khongjom War Memorial is a popular sightseeing destination in the region where tourists get to savour the sights of a 30-feet high entrance, rolling hills and gorgeous valleys inaugurated by former President of India Mr Pranab Mukherjee. It's a beautiful architecture commemorating the Indo-Anglo war. It has a big open lawn at the entrance and then you can climb a few stairs to see the war memorial. The view from the top is really beautiful. The monument looks like some kind of a Sci-fi movie pillar/tower. You can see the whole lawn and the surrounding area once you have climbed the stairs. Very good view for pictures especially during the evening. It's not very far from the Imphal city and the drive going there is beautiful especially during the rainy season as you can enjoy the view of green paddy fields along the way. At the entrance they have a ticket counter and have parking space available besides the lawn

Memorial is beautiful but the visit was ruined by a ticket collector know as 'James', very rude person. On asking his credentials he said there is only one James in this area. I had come from punjab to just visit this beautiful monument but after interacting with him , I had to leave the place. I request manipur tourism to look into this so that place doesn't get a bad name because of just one individual.

Well planned and well built complex. It's spacey and airy and good for a weekend getaway. Theres the tall war memorial constructed of steel and copper and there's also an artificial lake where you can go boating. Light snack stalls are there, ample parking, and nice places to sit under a shade. There's also a small swing and slide area for kids. They also have a guest house with resto.

The Khongjom War Memorial Complex is a war memorial site of the Anglo-Manipuri War, fought at Khongjom, Thoubal district of Manipur. The war memorial complex has the tallest sword statue of the world. The sword statue symbolizes the courage, dedication and patriotism of the freedom fighters of Manipur, who fought against the three sides of the charging attacks of the British army, from Kohima, Silchar and Myanmar on the 23rd of April, 1891.
