One of the best place visit in kodaikanal. I have visited last weekend with my friend. Don't miss the place. From moir point to silent valley View 6kkm approximately 20min travel time. Two wheeler not allowed. Silent valley View you can see 1500 deep (பள்ளத்தாக்கு) while taking photos be carefull. Only car and van allowed. We need to get the pass from kodaikanal forest department police station. Near to kodaikanal busstand. Tuesday car and van not allowed. Because that day leave. Only forest van only allowed. Car-200 van-250 for pass If you don't have car or van. No issue. From moir point forest department arranging van, per head 200. We can see silent valley View, Caps fly view, berijam lake view, mathikettan solai view, berijam lake. Totally five places we can see. It's absolutely a reserved forest. We can feel the nature and breath the good air. Herbal trees are lot in this forest And take food and water while travelling. Don't take plastic items. If you are travelling with family means don't stop the car in between.Because it's deep forest. Any time wild animals will come.

Silent Valley View Point is nature’s beauty at its best with heart-throbbing views of the white cloud-painted mountains. The pea green valley that lies below makes this point amongst the supreme tourist places in Kodaikanal. You can catch the sunrise and sunset in the eyes of the city, and confirm that you are indeed in the ‘princesses of hills’. The winter season blankets the valley with a white mist that associate to form a panoramic visual that is incomparable to anything else you have ever seen.

The must goto place...when you visit kodaikanal. Only forest vans and cars are allowed here as this place lies within the kodaikanal forest. We had rented a Car and the driver took care of the forest entry fee "250" and permission, this package tour is called "Forest Tour". You cannot stop your car anywhere on the road, only upon arrival of view point you can get down the vehicle. There are no restroom stops and stalls in between. Luckily we spotted a bison, giant squirrel and black monkey..😅 The silent valley was covered with fog so we could only see a bit through the fog. Worth a visit with your kids and have a nature time with family. Nature has that magic which heals. Note : Dont litter such majestic beauty, enjoy and be responsible citizen.

Another breath taking sightseeing place in Kodaikanal is the Silent Valley View Point. On the Berijam Lake road, it is located near to the Pillar Rocks. A popular place among nature lovers, it offers mesmerizing view of the valley. Its calming atmosphere and lush greenery add on to its charm while the view, from here is sure to leave to awestruck. The best time to visit Silent Valley View point is early mornings and evenings or late afternoons. During this time of the days, the valley can be sometimes seen covered in white mist that passes between the trees, crossing its refreshingly green meadows. The view of clouds passing through you, the sight of greenery till your eyes you could see is an experience worth remembering. While visiting the valley, be careful, especially when travelling with kids as the valley is extremely deep. Silent Valley View Point is located on the Berijam road that is well connected by road. As there are no auto rickshaws in Kodaikanal, tourists can walk to the view point or travel by taxi. Cycling or bikes are also available for rent. So if interested one can just cycle to the point while admiring the surrounding scenic beauty.

If it's Misty weather you'll just see nothing 😂 The view will be limited if it's misty weather. But overall a wonderful experience with the cool climate 🥶😍

Silent Valley View is a popular viewpoint located in Kodaikanal, a hill station in the southern Indian state of Tamil Nadu. From this viewpoint, you can enjoy stunning views of the valley below, including the lush greenery and mist-covered mountains. To reach Silent Valley View, you will need to drive or hike up the hill on the Berijam Lake Road. The viewpoint is located about 12 kilometers from Kodaikanal town and is situated at an altitude of around 7,000 feet above sea level. The best time to visit Silent Valley View is during the early morning or late afternoon when the weather is pleasant, and the view is clear. The viewpoint is a popular spot for nature lovers, photographers, and tourists who want to enjoy the serene beauty of the Kodaikanal hills.

Nice viewpoint. It is not silent, as the name suggest, because of the crowd. Beware of leeches.

A good view point...as the name says it's really silent... It has a good view point where you can climb up to see a beautiful view...it can be visited via your own vehicle after obtaining permission from Forest department one day before... If not possible go there to take a common bus Safari from the entrance of mior point... They will take you to 5 different locations mentioned in the picture...

You can see only mist in this region. Monkeys will be their ready to grab your eatables from hand. Waste of time visiting this place. Chocolate and ice cream shops can be found on both sides of the path to view point. But finish eating it in the shop itself because if you take them to the view point you will be surrounded by monkeys ready to take them from you.

Very nice place. As this is a restricted place, and accessible only with limited permits, it has been able to retain the old world scenic beauty, and the forest area is reasonably thick too. We were not fortunate enough to see the views as the place was covered in mist. But it allowed us very different surreal experience which we may not have observed if the skies were clear. Enclosing one such photograph.

Amazing valley view, serene sky and lush with deep forest and grass. Long deep breath that's all you need at this point. This place comes under forest department. So to enter this place there two ways, one by the forest department team which cost you really cheap(100/- pp). Another way is to get a paid taxi which cost little expensive. Place is worth the watch because you get 4 more beautiful sites to see.

This place is on the way to berijam. There are no sign boards when I went on 4/2/22 . Keep looking out for hand rails and stairs on your left and stop near them. You need to walk down around 10-15 steps and you'll reach the edge of the cliff. It'll be fenced but be careful anyway. There's a small viewing tower. Breathtakingly beautiful spot where you can see clouds floating below you .. do not miss this place on the way to berijam.

One of the best viewpoint I have been to. Bliss and peace full place. The name of the place is self explanatory. This is the most silent place. If you want to get away from the check noise and stress this will the best hideout for a week time.

This spot is part of the Inside Forest Sightseeing tour package. This sight is supposed to have amazing view of the valley. However when we went the entire valley was covered with clouds. So much of the valley was not visible. Still the entire atmosphere was very beautiful with lonely roads with Eucalyptus trees by the sides.

  • 4/5 Sheetal A. 2 years ago on Google
If there are no clouds, you can get a very clear view of the valley and mountains. We went there when it was surrounded by clouds but still the view was nice from up above. A place just to stop for 5 mins for a view.

Silent valley is a part of a journey to Berijam Lake, Its the first point which brings a surprise , has a watch tower to see the beautiful view... Great spot for photogenic people and for Nature lovers, great view of mountains from here and a must try place.. One may purchase a ticket from the counter because you have to take permission from Kodaikanal for private vehicles to enter in forest area. You will be taken inside via Forest Buses. 250 for bus charges and 50 for the lake checkpoint. Took 4 hours for us going and coming back which covers around 4-5 points like this point silent valley, medicine trees valley, Caps Valley, Berijam Lake view, fire tower, Berijam Lake.. When foggy places are not well seen.. But when freed its truely amazing.. a must try..
