Very nice & attractive collection of coins seen by me . This I have never seen before. Currencies from ancient time to current era are displayed in very well manner. Security guards are arranged for security as well as describer. Mr. Jaiprakash Rao - The Manger of this Heritage Coins museum described each and every thing regarding working & maintenance and management. They also told that no fee is charged for visiting in museum since inception. I have seen not only old paper currency, stone currency, gold currency, silver currency & current currency but also seem foreign currency, misprint currency and special currency. Also we can see oldest form of affidavits to newest one.

I visited this museum causally. No expectations. But it turned out to be an experience I would remember for ages. This museum was never in my to do list. I have been in Udupi from past 5 years and before that I used to visit occassionally. I never thought a museum can change my viewpoint of Udupi's history. I thought I know Udupi. But it was not the case. The coin museum is not just about coins but also the story of Udupi and its people. Legacy of a wonderful philanthropist Haji Abdul ji (Udupi's Akbar). Visit to know his legacy and contribution for Udupi and coastal Karnataka. You will never believe that such a person had ever lived on this earth. One has to visit this mesmerizing museum. Museum has history of coins, currency, India's struggle, bank history, legend's history. Meet Mr. Uday(security) there, he is passionate about coins history and he will guide you with required information. His photo I have attached. He speaks Kannada, Tulu and Hindi. You will find one more official who speaks English too. But I found Mr. Uday humble and polite. Unfortunately photography is not allowed inside. A must visit place for every human being...

I made a visit to this museum and really got mesmerized to see the great collection of coins and currency notes. Also got to understand the story of the founder and legendary person Mr Haji Abdulla who was a true philanthropist. Mr Uday, the security staff guided us as well and gave us profound knowledge about various ancient coins, by imparting valuable information which we were unaware of. He seems to be passionate about the whole thing and found him very humble and polite. Photography inside the museum was not allowed but you can really spend good time knowing the history of coins as well as about the legend. A must visit for adults and kids and surely not to miss this opportunity at Udupi when the entry is absolutely free.

This coin museum has wide variety of coins from different Dynasties and a few explanations about barter system and promissory notes. The coin museum is 123 years old house of Haji adbullah, who was one of the biggest philanthropist of his time. Its free of cost and must visit place.

If you are visiting Udupi, then don't miss this museum. If you miss visiting Malape beach, no problem. But don't miss this one. It's a dream come true of two passionate people. One is a founder of corporation Bank and another a collector of coins and currency notes. The founder has given his banglow for exhibition of currency notes in the history of India and valuable coins. Jayaprakasha Rao is a brain behind this wonderful museum. It's free because the founder of the bank was philanthropist and donated everything whatever he was having in his lifetime. Take a guided tour of history of coins and currency in last 2000 years. Ideal for kids and adults.

Neatly exhibited collection is housed in the corporation bank founder's heritage house. Exhibits include coinage of Mahajanapadas, many regional ancient Indian Kingdoms, monarchs, colonial India, and republic India. Odd shaped punch mark coins, with drawn high denomination bank notes with Thanjavur big temple, various commemorative high denomination coins, error coins were some of the varied exhibits that is of attraction here. These exhibits are collection of former employee of corporation bank who is also the curator and in charge of the museum. On request he enthusiastically explains about this collection. A really nice place to take young students. We will be able to correlate many images seen in History text books with actual coins. Very helpful staff, especially Mr. Jayaprakash. He guided us through the exhibits and explained every bit. A very knowledgeable person. Coins from the BC era till now are exhibited here. Be ready to spend atleast 3 hours if you are interested in such places. Through the coins you will be able to understand a bit of our history also. Special Thanks to Union Bank of India for maintaining the museum.

Well maintained by Bank. Knowledgeable staff guided us with all history of the bank and currency. Photo shoot stricted here. You can click on only one place near to the statue. There I glad to know that Modi Government is third government on demonetisation since independence.

First, access is completely free for all. Timings are from 10 am to 5 pm. The museum is closed on govt holidays and bank holidays. This is a great opportunity for everyone to learn about Indian coins and history. I would definitely recommend this place to travelers.

This is one of the nice museums everyone must visit, when they come to Udipi. There is a very good collection of coins here dating back to 400BC and some interesting facts about currency. Also, the staff here are excellent and very cooperative. The infrastructure here still remains very old including a 120 year old sliding window. Please take your kids to this place and let them explore the museum. It will be fun and also knowledgeable experience.

Worth a visit for sure, whether you are a coin enthusiast or not. Muesuen is housed at residence of Corporation Bank's founder Mr. Haji Abdullah, which is very nicely maintained. The collection is really unique covering from 300 BC till current time. Gold, silver, copper, nickel and other varieties of coin of different shapes are there. Notes along with some 17th century stamp papers make visit a worthwhile. I visited this place on 30th Dec 2022 and must say I was very impressed by the authenticity of the facts in the Coin Museum offered free of cost. The security guard who has a thorough knowledge of the place and the things preserved there does a brilliant job of explaining things to the common crowd. One of the fewest places which can boast of offering true knowledge and not being money collection schemes.
