Once in a life time experience. Vibrant depiction of mythology and art in various forms of sculptures, monuments, paintings. Amazing story telling about various kathas in Hindu mythology. Closest to nature, various indoor and outdoor games which will take us back to childhood. It's truly a temple, cultural museum, resort, nature park and many things in one tranquil place. Mr Krishna, Mr Srinivasa and their team gave us a memorable hospitality which truly upholds our culture. To finally top it up, a hearty meal and snacks when needed - more than satisfying. Must visit for all to know, learn, get enlightened about our rich Heritage. Totally worth it.

We recently visited Omthara Kala Kuteera at their event. It was a lovely atmosphere of dance, culture and craftsmanship. Enjoyed the tour of the museum and appreciated the collection of arts and crafts. Its a fantastic place to take children and introduce them to heritage crafts.

We visited as a group of 12 students and 8 adults and what an incredible day we had at Omthara! It's truly a mix of natural beauty, amazing art, and architecture from our ancient culture. Dancing peacocks right as we entered set the tone for a wonderful outing! Founded by the visionary G K Anantaram, Amar Chitra Katha comes alive here. Children and we enjoyed great food and caring hospitality with passionate story telling from the epics. You will also be floored by the Devalaya which can house a small wedding and other functions. Afternoon, post a sumptuous lunch, indoor games in a palace like setting was fun. The grounds are green with trees and they do have a few rooms for a stay over which we plan to do on our next visit. Omthara is a gem near Bengaluru that one must experience.

An Artistic Ode to SANATANA Dharma Going In group one can appreciate Art and take to heart Hindu Scriptures in sculptures, paintings and light show as well as enjoy serene natural habitat and devour Satvik Lunch and sparking high tea at ₹850/- (July 2018). Price may go up to ₹1000 after jala-kalyani is ready. Welcome juice too. Effectiveness and efficiency in service could be improved. Savour the scenic and colourful panoramic place. Of course it helps Hindus if they know only little about their Religion. For kids and others one can get introduced to epic, purana & itihasas. Light show can improve. Intro to the place can be better with info on every activity & place available given in advance for us to choose & opt for what we want There is sports activity like Table tennis, etc. Group can enjoy Housy/bingo, sing, dance etc. Few incorrect lables can be modified and introducing audio guide as well as giving multi-lingual tour would make it more memorable We enjoyed HOT pakka-vada(pakora) & tea when Varuna (rain) visited us. Marvelous Courteous and friendly staff made our day

Loved the hospitality of excellent food, snacks and high tea. Thankyou so much to one and all.🙏🙏

Our visit to Omthara kala kuteera was very enlightening. It is a beautiful, peaceful place with so much of greenery. The artwork, stone sculptures are amazing, depicting Indian culture and heritage. Each stone carving had a story to tell . The light and sound show on Dashaavataras was inspiring , courteous staff and a knowledgeable guide , great hospitality. We took the 6 hours tour which was worth it , a day well spent . Definitely a must visit

The place is a sure visit for it's ambience, serene atmosphere and for the vibe it generates. If you want to depict the mythological stories to your kids in the best way, then go for it. This place has about 6 floors to be patiently seen. You see almost all the art forms from all over the country being present apart from the sculptures which is maintained neatly. You can probably never see a place without any art form in this place. If you are an art lover, its sure a place not to be missed out!! The place also has a options for conducting events such as Haldi, Mehendi etc. Do visit the place to appreciate the 3 decade of hardwork for maintaining this place with so much of awe👏🏼

This is an overdue review. We happened to visit without calling them first. As we entered I felt eerie feeling because it was so quiet outside. But we decided we will check up inside and went over. What an amazing place! 😍 It is a priceless place with some of the most exquisite art works organised beautifully over many floors! It should definitely be a whole day trip. It is mainly dedicated to Indian mythology depicted tastefully by Craftsmen from different parts of India. The kind of Tanjore paintings of Krishna and Rama Pattabhisheka and kalamkari art of Mahabharata and Ramayana is just unimaginable! I hadn’t ever thought that it’s possible to paint so tastefully. To say the least it’s an art loving persons dream paradise. As we went from floor to floor seeing mythological stories unveil in the paintings, I was reminded of Amar chitra katha stories. I then came to know that Mr. GK Ananthram, who is said to have been the brain behind Amar Chitra katha comics is the creator of Omthara as well. His wonderful wife and daughter in law run the place with all the hospitality and energy. They served us delicious and soothing food as well. I think that since the approach road isn’t v nice and for some reason, it isn’t as popular. But I think that children will appreciate the richness in Indian art and culture by just visiting this place once. It’s great for a group visit as well. The place left us speechless! What a life dedicated to art the creators must have led. It’s sui generis really!

Absolutely a great place. Glad I went there with equal mindset friends. 'Amarchitra katha' story writer's vision has resulted in this created a wonderful cultural, architectural kalakutera. (our group have read these stories as children)

breakfast in garden where the peacock was moving around, so it was very nice feel, we were given a good welcome to enter. With a song and aarathi. Later a good info regarding the sculptures. Lunch in a colorfull table and variety of tasty food. The place is superb. No words to express. It was like a palace and we were treated as queens😃.Only the directions are missing from main road, the entrance board must be big. Hospitality, food, guide, service, overall very good. The network was good though its very inside, remote place. The people are very helpfull. To be improved is the wash basin was leaking, making the floor filled with water. Overall good experience.

Omthara kala kuteera a heritage museum situated in Bengaluru Rural at Basavenahalli which is 40-45 kms away from Bengaluru city. Our Humble Pranams to Late Shri Anantharam Iyengar who has built this heritage museum with great patience in a span of 25 years with a single hand. He has introduced to the world our great Indian heritage and Indian artisans to the present generation. This complete land is around 28 acres of land covered with nature’s green carpet all around.Omthara Kala Kuteera is an Indian Heritage Center that brings to life India’s ancient Ithihasas, puranas, history of our Indian culture,Sanathanadharma and vibrant culture through exquisite sculptures, paintings and performing arts.We visited this heritage with family and friends and it was an incredible day and had great feast to our eyes. This heritage has 6 floors, each floor tells different stories starting with Kashi, Ayodhya, Tirupathi,Chardham, Vrindhavana and lastly Meeru. Our Guide Mr. Srinivas explained each story so well we could get the beautiful pictures of Ramayana, Mahabharata, and even Bhagavatha times. Our many thanks to Mrs Anantharam Iyengar and family for the hospitality and concern shown in making us feel very comfortable and happy. Food served to us by them was tasty and good. Lastly our thanks to the food department and the lady who welcomed us with Aarathi and great send off with our tradition offering us Thambulam 🙏

We stayed overnight at this resort. Its a hidden gem just an hour drive from Bangalore. Each piece of art is so unique and the entire idea of narrating stories and our culture through art is commendable. The entire place is clean and well maintained. The food spread is good and staff are very hospitable. Definitely a must visit place to spend a weekend in a meaningful way with family.

It is Heaven On Earth. We have been to many Mythological Places before but this is truely a gem. It is the only Sanatana Dharma Resort in Karnataka. Mr Kishan the resort owner welcomed us and briefed about history and Mr Sirinivas a guide there took inside. There is a positive energy once we just enter the main building. This is one of place of its kind at just 30-40 min from bangalore city. I strongly recommend this place for everyone and the entrance ticket that we pay is just nothing in front of this Hertage property. #iamnotfree

First thing first , if you want to visit this place please call them up first and enquire about it . It will make your trip much better I visited the place along with my family and it was really nice experience. There is no other place in India which depicts the Indian culture and heritage with such details. A must visit if you want to truly experience the heritage and culture of India. The art and craft is just amazing and can only be appreciated if you experience it by yourself We reached at 4 PM so did not have enough to explore everything . So it's better to go there in the morning and have the full day to explore. Also it's better to go there by your own vehicle or private taxi as there are no options of public transport. Also please carry cash as they don't deal with cards.

We had the opportunity to visit Omthara Kala Kuteera recently, thanks to a very dear friend who introduced us to this amazing place, in the outskirts of Bangalore – off Mangalore road. We reached Omthara Kala Kuteera in the morning 9:00 AM and spent the whole day in this wonderful palatial building and serene, lush green surrounding. As soon as we reached, we were welcomed with a home cooked, tasty, sattvic breakfast followed by a guided tour of the entire premises, starting from the temple on the outside, to the entrance and every corner of each floor - basement, ground and upper 2 floors and the meditation hall on the terrace. We were amazed with meticulously carved out sculptures on one stone (monolith), artwork, paintings with the precise eyes for details - simply amazing. I am a big fan of Amar Chitra Katha since my childhood and the memories of Amar Chitra Katha came alive during the tour. It turns out that Pandit Shri G. K. Ananthram whose dream/imagination took the shape of this wonderful place, was also the founder of Amar Chitra Katha (in Kannada and later it was translated in English and also in Hindi). Afternoon around 2:00 we had delicious lunch and then we continued to the guided tour of artwork, wooden, and stone sculptures, wall paintings, and the mesmerizing story of ten incarnations of Lord Vishnu in a theatre. Overall it was very relaxing, peaceful, enjoying day trip. Highly recommended for a family getaway. It is also an ideal place for a family or friends reunion.

A beautiful museum of our Indian Heritage & mainly the Sanathana Dharma. 4 - 6 hours aren't sufficient to go through this beautiful place. I would recommend a full day trip & if possible an overnight stay at this beautiful museum away from the city life amidst silence, serenity & tranquility. I would be definitely making another trip soon. Especially to enjoy the hospitality & the serenity of this beautiful place, away from the city life, yet not very far away from the city .

A most unique and amazing place! I would never have imagined that this kind of a resort would exist in the 'Silicon Valley' of India. It's a place teeming with art and sculpture, and located amidst serene lush greenery, away from the hustle and bustle of the city. A perfect place to perform functions such as weddings, business gatherings, or simply to just take the family out for the weekend. The food is delicious. This place ought to be in the top five getaways for businesses and families.

We did not like to go back home. Such was the place. Great place for one day outing with family and friends. Lot of hard work has gone into this place. We should forget everything at that time of our visit and forget ourselves and enjoy the artworks. I have never seen anything like this in my life. Every inch is utilized to give us wonderful works of art. Even the steps leading to first floor and second floor is filled with artworks. We cannot see even a single place which is without artwork. No words are enough to show our gratitude.

We happened to visit this place accidentally, but nevertheless it was a splendid experience.. the art work on the canvas and the carvings on stones and wood by craftsman from Orissa, Andhra Pradesh and other parts of India was immense. The founder of the place brought his dream and love on art into reality very beautifully with lot of passion... the building has a history of 25yrs and 1 day is not enough to visualise the art. Not a single portion in the whole building is left blank. The musical room in which the avatars of Lord Vishnu was shown was like icing on the cake. It’s a 25 acre land with lush green plants and agricultural fields around. Excellent place for a day outing specially with family and friends.... Highly recommended to anyone Such places very near to a cosmopolitan city should be encouraged so that many visitors are attracted...

OMTARA KALA KESHETRA The name itself creates a beautiful feelings. As DVG said "Shileyalla ee Gudiyu Kaleya beedu" meaning it is not just a stone structures but a place of art and architecture . The greenery surrounding the tall three storied building is a place which soothes one to serenity. Starting with Kashi passing through Ayodhya, Tirupathi, Chardham, Vrindavan and Meeru - what a lovely way to travel through these places, especially with a friendly welcoming guide like Mr.Srinivas. Every bit of stone is a piece of art which has its own story to reveal and take you back to Ramayana, Mahabharata and Bhagavatha times. My humble pranams to late Sri Anantharam Iyengar who single handedly made this project to introduce the Indian heritage and Indian artisans to the present generation. I thank Mrs.Anatharam Iyengar and her son for the hospitality and the concern shown in making the guests feel comfortable and happy Thank you once again the whole team of OMTARA KALA KESHETRA for a wonderful and memorable moments.

It was a great experience to see the sculptures and paintings of our Gods and Goddesses and was ably supported by the tour guide . The vision of one man to do something like this is awesome. Need atleast 6-7 hours to explore the whole concept leisurely. Food served was so great and delicious. Hospitality at its best.
