(Translated by Google) Rabindranath Tagore's residence in Mangpu. The poet repeatedly came to Mongu at the invitation of his devoted friend Maitreya Devi. Maitreya Devi, known as a writer and novelist. Maitreya Devi's father Surendranath Dasgupta was a professor. Rabindranath Tagore had a good relationship with Surendranath Dasgupta. And with his father, Maitreya Devi has visited the World Bank several times. Maitreya Devi was married to Manmohan Sen, chief chemist at Cinchona Plantation. Maitreya Devi used to live in her husband's quarters because of that work. In this quarter Maitreya Devi was invited by the poet again and again. The poet stayed there for a month and a half, fascinated by the quiet, beautiful mountains there. That quarter is the historic Rabindra Bhavan today under the ministry of Cinchona. The beds used by the poet, the writing desk, the color palette, the dew of biochemical drugs, many pictures remain in that building. The poet sits in this building, writing his last birthday, the last words, the identity of the Bangla language, the childhood. Besides, the poems of the newborn, Sanai, Akash Pradeep, Mangpu, Camellia are written here. He sits here and takes some pictures of himself, excluding the pictures of the mountains. They are now housed in the archives of this building. Here are some letters of the poet written to Maitreya Devi. Asia's first Nobel Laureate, the memory of world poet Rabindranath Tagore is truly unique in the mountainous beauty of the mangapu. When Rabindranath used to go to Mangpu from Kolkata, at first, the seventeen-kilometer road was not paved. At that time, he would ride a lamb and go to Maungpu from six and a half miles. The palanquin is currently kept in Rabindra Bhawan. Later, however, the road was paved and Shri Shishir Routh, the successor of one of the then palanquin carriers, now maintains the Rabindra Bhawan. The same person again works as a guide for tourists singing Rabindra music. You can also speak Bengali, Nepali, Hindi and some English. The manuscripts, chairs, tables and drawings of the poet's time in the Rabindra Bhavan are carefully kept. Rabindra fans Many people gathered at the mangapu rabindra building. Sinkona is cultivated only in Mongpu, West Bengal. Quinine, a malaria drug, is made from Syncona. Syncona processing factory is located in Mangpu. Workers' building next to Rabindra Bhawan. Rabindranath's love for nature can be found in Mongu. (Translated by Google) The Rabindra Museum is a museum located in Mungpoo, near Kalimpong, in the state of West Bengal, India. Poet Rabindranath Tagore stayed in this house in 1938 and 1939, at the invitation of the poet and novelist Maitreyi Devi, the wife of quinologist Dr. M.M.Sen Maitreyi Devi gave her account in Rabindranath in Maungpura: A Sunday (22 Baishakh) arrangements were arranged here, two days before twenty five boishakhs. At 10 o'clock in the morning, blacksmith came out after wearing black colored shoes (Guru). A Buddhist studded the wooden Buddha statue in front of the statue. The poet read a lot from the isopnosis. On that day, three poems were written on the birthday in the afternoon, among which Buddhists were talking. In the afternoon, everyone came to the team - our mountainous poor neighbors, Sanaai began to blow, and the beauty of the celestial beauty of the garrina painted the beauty of all the beauty and stunned. Gradually taking the steps of the house, sitting in the chaired chair was flowing, and the pahariyas were pelting flowers in the group. Every child, every old child brings something or some flowers. They never knew that they would give such flowers, that they never had before. I (Original) The Rabindra Museum is a museum located in Mungpoo, near Kalimpong, in the state of West Bengal, India. Rabindra Bhavan is located at Mungpu in Kalimpong district. Pity that a place so famously associated with Tagore’s life is being ignored by the administration. The state electricity board has disconnected the electric supply, no funds are reportedly reaching here for upkeep of this place. I don't know who is responsible for this chaos, maybe the owners of this property are reluctant about its heritage, maybe the govt is too busy minding other business, but this needs to be addressed.

The bungalow is now a museum called Rabindra Bhavan, dedicated to the Nobel Laureate and still has artefacts and memorabilia from Tagore’s stay here. At the far left of the linear lounge lies the room that was the poet’s workstation during his stays, kept exactly the same way through the years. A mahogany writing desk and a curiously carved chair, designed by Tagore himself, with a well-worn cushion still on the chair. A small cabinet holds the assorted painting supplies that Tagore would choose to dabble with. With creaky floors, old fireplaces, the poet’s manuscripts stowed in wooden chests and vintage snapshots on the walls, the house seems to exist in a time warp. In an east-facing bedroom, where the light of dawn would greet Tagore every day is a bedstead with an inclined backrest, designed by Tagore and carved by his son Rathindranath. The large tree still standing outside has found mention in one of the many poems of Tagore that were composed here.

Rabindra Nath Tagore is entangled with the core emotion of every literate Bengalis.Visiting Rabindra Bhaban of Mongpu is like a pilgrimage to us. Last time when we visited the place four years ago the natural hilly essence of the place and the heritage was maintained. But this time huge new constructions like making resorts, parks etc surrounding that heritage building grossly vitiated the legacy and reverence of Tagore.

Must visit. The guide's soul is in the right place which makes the ambience beyond explanation. The heart he puts in explaining the museum is the binding glue to this much needed museum preservation. The place is laced with beauty and the presence of our beloved Rabi Thakur. The simplicity and efficiency of this house very easily surpasses the amenities available in a modern flat.

This museum is amidst natural surroundings, and any visitor to this museum feels proud of the place where Sri RNTagore stayed. Visitor will definitely have the great feeling that, Tagore's literary talks, discussions, thoughts etc., still resonate in the museum in the form of a sacred silence. Visitor will without his/her knowledge, observe silence in a meditative mood and happily take a look at the museum . Worth visiting.

Great place to visit. Being a Bengali its proud to visit such a place where the memoirs of Rabindranath Tegore is so purely conserved and protected. The man who takes care of the house is very good and gave every minute detail about Gurudev's history in Mungpo. He has dedicated himself to share the history among the visitors. A polite and humble man. Everything is so perfect at the place. Such a place is to be conserved by the government. But I was awestruck to hear that the electricity line of the house is disconnected as the government didn't take any responsibility. Its hard to believe that the man who gave Light to the World and made it bright now this museum sleeps in darkness of night!!!

Rabindranath Tagore stayed in this bungalow for some time, later they turned it into a "museum" of sorts. However, I was disappointed to find that there was nothing that was actually used or created by him. All there was were the pictures of his writings, his paintings and his accomplishments. I would have liked to see some of his original manuscripts, personal belongings or artworks. It felt like a superficial tribute to his legacy. The garden outside was nice and well maintained. The environment was calm and quiet. That was the only positive aspect of this place. PS: the entry fee is 25 per per person.

Very soon the tree house would be open for public to stay and enjoy the scenic beauty of the valley ahead. Rabindra Bhawan, Mangpu, Darjeeling was the house of Maitrayee Devi, a follower of Rabindranath & her husband. The Poet stayed here & became fond with this house & place. The house amidst the breathtaking view of surrealist Himalayan Range is an abode of the followers of the Greatest Poet. It was not maintained properly during the erstwhile administration. But now, the approach road from Siliguri, the nearest terminus, is superb. The Rabindra Museum is taking shape. Most of all, the historic house & its vicinity is developed into tourist friendly way. I strongly advocate all to visit Mangpu & its surroundings. Feel Tagore & feel the magnanimous Himalaya which inspired him. Feel the true spirit of Darjeeling Hills.

A part of history embedded in this place. A part of Bengali culture, which flowed through the ink of the great Rabindranath Tagore, was created by the Nobel laureate right here. Opposite to the factory where the legendary quinine was born from cinchona plants, this place is now a museum for a lot of history, including some poems and songs penned right here by R.N.Tagore. And of course, the view of the Mungpoo valley from the writing desk of Rabindranath Tagore is just the inspiration we can find in his words! Do come here and experience the quiet beauty of the hills along with a part of history timelessly embedded in Bengali literature.
