Beautiful place. The only thing is that if you want to go inside, you need to get a ticket on the other side of the city. Else its amazing place with a good view as well, since its on the top of the hill and architecture, panting are amazing

What a wonderful artwork of ancient India. The real beauty lies in its fresco murals on the walls and ceiling. The paintings depict the scenes from ramayana, bhagvat puran, and folklore of those times. It is a must see for all the artlovers. It needs a bit of maintainence from the government,if they really want to preserve it.

also known as Laxmi Mandir Is today abandoned as the deity was stolen Yet the frescoes and some scratch paintings remain The temple is purported to be shaped like an owl, the vahan or transport of Goddess Lakshmi It is situated at a vantage point from where you can see a panoramic view of orchha A lot of steep steps here as well if you wish to go to the upper levels

Visited Lakshmi Narayan Temple back in January before the lockdown. This temple is dedicated to Lakshmi, the Hindu goddess of wealth. . I don’t think it’s a functioning temple anymore as it was locked up and one of the villagers had to get the security guard to unlock the doors to let me. For a temple, the building has an unusual design that also makes it look like a fort. The building has a rectangular shape and at each corner one with four multi-faced projecting bastions at its four corners. There’s a sad lack of maintenance and the condition of the temple interiors look in a poor state, which I guess is why it’s locked up. It’s kind of dark inside, but you can see lots of frescos which are worth a visit.

Beautiful location and a building unparalleled but God , if the Govt. could care a little. Hurts to see beautiful and exquisite structures like the temples in orcha esp. This one and the chaturbhuj temple going to the waste on account of govt and public apathy and sheer neglect. Pls visit tis if u love to go back in time.

Hidden gem in Orchha... Unique in structure since it is a temple in a fort-type layout... Beautiful paintings on the ceiling and walls... Wish it was better maintained
