Bhimashankar
Temple
is
said
to
be
one
of
the
jyothirlinga
temples
in
India.
Bhimashankar
is
located
about
250
k.m
from
Mumbai.
We
started
from
Pune
early
morning
at
5.00
a.m.
The
drive
itself
was
through
very
beautiful
country
side.
The
early
morning
mist
added
to
the
scenario
and
at
times
the
visibility
was
so
low
that
we
were
worried.We
reached
the
temple
village
at
around
8.00
a.m.
Devotees
have
to
climb
down
approximately
250
steps
to
reach
the
temple.
The
steps
are
well
made
and
are
not
very
difficult
even
for
seniors
unless
hampered
by
physical
ailments.
The
premises
are
kept
clean
and
once
we
reach
the
temple
we
are
struck
by
the
beauty
of
the
architecture
and
carvings.
We
can
enter
the
sanctum
and
touch
the
Shivalingh
who
is
said
to
be
in
Ardha
Nareeshwar
form.
Priests
help
us
perform
our
prayers
and
one
can
leave
the
presence
of
the
Lord
with
reluctance
but
with
a
satisfied
mind.
We
reached
early
morning
and
there
were
no
crowds.
But
if
any
one
wants
to
have
darshan
and
also
enjoy
the
scenic
beauty
of
the
place,
there
are
one
or
two
Resorts
that
have
come
up
,
about
10
minutes
drive
from
the
temple.
We
had
breakfast
at
one
of
these
resorts
named
Rathva
Resort,
who
had
cottage
type
accommodation.
The
place
looked
clean
but
we
did
not
stay
there
and
cannot
comment
on
the
comfort.
Breakfast
was
good
and
large
helpings
and
very
reasonably
priced.visited
the
epitome
of
Shiva
divinity.
The
road
from
Manchar
to
the
shrine
is
really
bad,
state
government
must
pay
attention
to
it.
It
is
risky
for
non
localites
to
drive
on
this
single
road.
Once
you
reach
at
temple
site,
there
is
a
que
for
commoners
who
are
pushed
and
treated
inside
temple
like
animals
by
the
workers.
The
priest
sitting
there
is
just
catering
to
puja
of
rich
people
who
were
sitting
there
with
family,
surely
on
money
power.
The
priest
does
not
even
care
to
touch
the
belpatri
brought
by
commoners,
he
will
just
pich
your
Nariyal
and
throw
it
in
a
basket
behind
him.
Than
you
are
asked
to
leave.
It
surely
hurts.
Third
and
more
pinching
thing,
there
were
three
temple
guards,
on
the
exit
gate,
3-4
more
temple
guards
were
there
inside
the
nearby
room.
They
were
collecting
Rs.
200
per
person,
to
let
the
people
enter
from
exit
gate.
These
were
not
policemen.
They
were
wearing
temple
batch
on
their
arms.
A
few
plain
clothed
people
were
also
available
on
the
stairs,
asking
Rs.
200
each
for
back
door
darshan.
Remember
this
is
not
authorised
special
darshan
@Rs.
500/-
.
VIP
darshan
is
also
another
category
to
be
watched
for.
Since
there
is
no
complaint
or
suggestion
link
at
the
management
site,
I
have
to
report
it
publicly.
Hope
management
will
take
care.
Regards.
