Aastha homestay is run by the residents of Neahi, a beautiful, and by certain standards of accessibility, an almost remote village, in Sainj. It's a perfect getaway from the madness of the so called "party-villages" in the valleys in neighbourhood. The owners of the place were the sweetest, most accommodating, and the most resourceful hosts. The food in the homestay was deliciously home made. They even took me for a guided short hike to one of the many waterfalls nearby. Not to mention how reasonably priced my stay was.

This place surpassed my expectations especially the hospitality of the family running this wonderful homestay. For a true nature lover everything is available here - picturesque snow clad mountains, waterfalls, jungle treks, dense alpine forest, a tiny village full of welcoming natives, authentic homemade food and in addition a great host which makes the stay even more pleasant. Ours was a perfect stay, a real homestay.

Just like the very popular Lays Ad- “No one can eat just one”, it is likely that most guests will revisit the place again (and again, and again :-)) I was there in the late monsoon (first week of August), and i must admit that after seeing the fallen debris along the way, and the insane water level, there was a slight regret to have chosen this time of visit. Well, all anxiety melted away once we started walking past the fresh-red apple orchards, and received warm welcome halfway by the host himself and Guruji(Lucky Ali, visit Aastha to know more). This warm homestay, Aastha, nestled in the cloud topped mountains and managed by one of the sweetest family, in the purest himachali way, is sure to satisfy you down the soul! I came with a friend, who first visited early April with his ‘friends’, and these ‘friends’ earlier visited with their friends 😅 Bottom line, number of ‘chelas’ and ‘chelis’ grow during each visit. Well i didn’t intend to write this long, but if you’re reading this means you’re planning a visit soon 🙂👍🏻 And I’m certainly going again to experience winter there!

A home away from home. It was a surreal experience. It felt like we were at home and safe in a cozy idyllic setting. The people, the food, the generosity everything was amazing. Girdhari bhaiya and Deepa didi welcomed us with a generous heart and Bal Krishan took us for trekking and was one of the best people we could meet. They also dropped us off at Pundrik Rishi Lake and carried our pieces of luggage. They have become our second family. The place is a must-visit if you want to be in peace and nature.

A perfect Home away from Home. The host Girdhari bhai and Deepa bhabhi are so warm and they make you feel like a part of family. This place is away from city and commercial surrounding, it is perfect for someone who prefer lot's of greenery with amazing view of sunset, sunrise, birds chirping and farms. They serve food with lot's of love and GHEE. Would love to go back to the village again. Thank you for being so amazing. Aastha homestay is a perfect place for meditation and peace of mind.

I found this homestay while I was checking out places in Sainj on Google map. I am a solo traveler and Aastha gave me so much warmth. If you do not like touristy places. Upper neahi is the best place to visit. Locals are friendly and helpful. There are plenty of hikes nearby. Consider staying here for at least 3-4 days.

If I had to say one thing about Aastha Homestay, It would be BOOK IT! It's one of the most marvellous stays I've lived in considering how warm and hospitable the hosts- Girdhari bhaiya and Deepa bhabhi are and how accommodating their entire family is. You can truly feel their affection pour through their interactions, food, concern regarding your itineary and what not. Village elders and kids would love to escort you once prompted- that's how friendly everyone is. The hosts will go above and beyond to ensure that you are getting to enjoy the best that Upper Neahi has to offer. The food is homely and bhahbi will serve you so generously as if there's no tomorrow! We trekked to Shilathatch, Sarikanda and attended the local festival after which Deepa bhabhi also dressed us in Pattu, the local attire for women. We were assisted by their neighbour, Balkrishna bhaiya who was equally charming and made the trek worth experiening with his interesting narrations of the village's everyday life, history and customs. The people here are so simple and welcoming that a stay less than 3-4 days won't do justice to the visit. The innocence and simplicity of the place will leave you spellbound. PS, leave the place as you've found and respect the nature and culture when you arrive.

One of the best homestays we ever stayed in Himachal.. It was a great off road drive to reach this place...One you reach there , you will definitely feel like heaven.. Girdhari bhai was so nice that he gives you the best stay experience throughout..We stayed there for 3 days and never felt like leaving from there..Bhai took us to all places nearby and cooked us tasty food ..He takes only limited bookings so that you don't feel overcrowded... Would love to visit this place again and again ..

Visited in October 2022.. The warmth, open heartedness, generosity and concern shown by the entire family was a beautiful experience. They were friendly and helpful and the atmosphere of the quiet, quaint and remote village was dreamy and traditional. The food cooked at home was delicious and kept you wanting for more which the hosts kept serving you until there was no scope left to eat even one more bite!! :D The stay was made as comfortable as possible with attention given to what we were needing from the trip for ourselves. It was a lovely, private, homely, noise free, nestled in nature, slow, one of a kind, in the lap of Nature kind of vacation in Aastha Homestay. There were lush farms right outside the balcony and i was tempted to learn a thing or two about farming skills. Missed the annual Festival of the village by a day but now there’s something to look forward to for next time. Truly grateful to Mahi & Girdharilalji and their entire family (and extended family) for the love, care and affection they showered on us with abundance.

One of the best homestay in Himachal to feel at ease. Fantastic home-style food and lovely host. I was with my pals, and we spent the entire time chilling. There are many places to roam around and find natural beauty that would otherwise go unnoticed. Don't lose time reading reviews, if you want to discover more about this location; instead, pack your belongings and contact Aastha Homestay.

I had come here in August after battling rains and landslides. It's a beautiful place with warm carpets and beds overlooking GHNP. I bathed in a waterfall trekked to a peak, had Maggi on a hilltop whenn it was poring. They also indulge you tin traditional cusine with Siddu and home cooked mutton. Girdhariji who runs the stay takes care of everything from travel to food. Will visit again and again :)

If you want to stay at a place away from the razzle dazzle of the main stream tourist places, this is the place for you! Girdhari Ji and Deepa bhabhi (+2 kids) are awesome hosts. The home cooked food is amazing. There are several short hikes from this place that one can enjoy.

Never really put a review on Google before but this homestay is really what home is all about. Not only are the people the nicest human beings but the ambience and the breathtaking views just keep you grounded and humbled. I stayed her for 8 days last week. It is located in Sainj Valley and is one of the most scenic locations I have ever visited. You can see snow clad mountains from your verandah even in peak summer. The views were breathtaking. The air is so pure and clean. But everything comes second to the hospitality we received there. Girdhari bhaiya and his family, will always make you feel like home. They will leave no stone unturned in making you feel comfortable and getting anything you need. He even took us to various treks around the valley. The food here is homemade and the most delicious and pure food you will ever have eaten. The vegetables and fruits are grown here. The ghee, paneer, honey, everything is made here. This is a must visit place and I am sure I will visit it many times in the future.

This is your home away from home. Tucked in the middle of the mountains, this homestay has everything you will need - amazing views, outstanding hospitality, most delicious food and most important, a homely atmosphere. They will treat you like you are a part of their family. I stayed here for 20 days during snow. Can’t wait to visit here back in other seasons also.

If you are looking for a quiet, relaxing but adventurous stay in the mountains this place is for you. This homestay is located in a very peaceful surrounding and for adventure you can trek to nearby villages, explore hidden waterfalls and places. Mahi’s energy and enthusiasm for his guests is overwhelming. And the delicious food is something you will miss the most after leaving their place!
