This spice garden doesn't need any introduction. Already covered in Lonely Planet and by the BBC. Abraham is the best possible guide. He is multilingual, approachable, and very friendly. The garden has exquisite vegetation and serene ponds. Abraham has a small shop that provides spices, coffee, oils and crafts out of driftwood. The experience will take around an hour and interested tourists like us would definitely wish to stay back longer. We noticed that other spice gardens are very commonly mistaken for this one. Kindly check the name ABRAHAM and his photo attached. Definitely and highly recommended for GENUINELY INTERESTED people

It was my first time I visited Abraham's spice garden in Thekkady. I had a wonderful experience here, our guide is friendly and has alot of knowledge about the spices he's growing. He'll be happy to answer all the questions you ask him and is enthusiastic to show visitors around his garden. All his plants are very well maintained and healthy. You can make out that he's genuinely interested in gardening! Highly recommend for travellers to visit here atleast once, you do not want to miss this!

Mr. Abraham and his family has been running this garden for 70 years. He gave us a guided tour of the plantation and it was great to see so many varieties of spices, fruits and plants growing here. He was very knowledgeable and very passionate about what he does and it showed in how he gave the tour. Highly recommended.

It’s a huge spice garden with numerous varieties of spices, fruits ( specially banana). Abraham himself has maintained it and shows the garden with full interest. You can ask as many questions as you want and he will happily answer them all. You can even buy plants from him and grow some at your place. Being a plant lover I absolutely loved the place.

Had went there but didn’t done the farm visit. Bought spices & powders from there. That seems to authentic & natural. The owner himself will take you to the spices garden & explain everything to you Now they have their spices shop on top of their home. Most of the products are made from the farm itself

Nice place and informative. Cardamon, banana, verious flowers. Pepper. The only thing is that we asked him how much to pay, and he said as much as we want, but I prefer to know the exact amount. So that I don't over or underpay!

Located about 4 kms from Kumily town centre, Abraham's spice and fruit garden is a must visit if you want to know more about the various varieties of plants, fruit trees and spices. Mr Abraham patiently takes you through his garden explaining each and every plant and fruit trees he's grown over the years.. some even over 60 years old. He also has a cardamom roasting unit and explains the process from picking to roasting cardamoms. Definitely a good one hour spent at his place which costs Rs 100 per person. You can also buy a variety of spices from his shop upstairs.

Different varieties of bananas, lemon and pineapple. Must visit place if you really like to learn and have interest about spices and plants.

Started by Justin's Great Grandfather(in 1952), he now manages his 30 acre farm. He will give you an hour long tour of his farm explaining about each and every spice, fruit, flowers they grow. This was quite an experience for us.There is so much variety and families of spices here which we were not Aware. He would explain and talk about it with great enthusiasm. This is must do if you are in Thekkady. They also sell freshly made spices here which you can buy. So we did end up buying here.

Super interesting experience. Abraham has an immense passion and dedication to his craft and he shows it while explaining each plant of his garden. He is a very good guide and his english is excellent. His garden has the main variety of spices of the region and also a bunch more cool species of fruit trees, flowers and plants. PS: his garden was showcased in the BBC show "Around the World in 80 gardens"

During my recent visit to Thekkady, I had the pleasure of exploring Abraham's Spice Garden, and it was an absolute delight! Nestled amidst the lush greenery, this garden is a hidden gem that offers a truly unique and enriching experience. One of the highlights of my visit was discovering an extraordinary variety of flora that I had never even heard of before. The garden is a treasure trove of exotic plants, spices, and herbs, each with its own distinct aroma and medicinal properties. Walking through the garden, I marveled at the vibrant colors and fragrances that surrounded me, creating a sensory feast for the senses. What sets Abraham's Spice Garden apart is not just the remarkable diversity of plants but also the interactive tour experience. Led by the charismatic Mr. Abraham himself, a 71-year-old with boundless energy and knowledge, the tour was an absolute delight. His passion for the garden and his in-depth understanding of each plant were truly inspiring. He shared fascinating insights and anecdotes, making the entire experience educational and entertaining. One of the highlights of the tour was the opportunity to try raw nectar and fruits right from the garden. It was a delightful experience, tasting the pure and natural flavors of the produce. The freshness and quality were exceptional, a testament to the care and dedication put into maintaining the garden. Abraham's Spice Garden is not just a place to visit; it's an oasis of happiness. The tranquility and serenity that envelops the garden is infectious, and it's impossible not to feel a sense of joy while exploring its wonders. Whether you're a nature enthusiast, a spice lover, or simply someone seeking a unique experience, this garden will leave you with a heart full of happiness. I highly recommend a visit to Abraham's Spice Garden for anyone visiting Thekkady. It's a place where you can immerse yourself in nature's beauty, learn from a true expert, and leave with a newfound appreciation for the wonders of the plant kingdom. Thank you, Mr. Abraham, for sharing your passion and creating an unforgettable experience!

The tour was very informative and interesting. Abraham himself gave us the tour and he is very knowledgeable and kind. The only reason I am giving 2 star instead of 5 is that they fooled us by selling fake spices. We bought spices worth 7-8k but when we tried it at home, they were of poor quality. We also bought hing which is totally fake and even the price is very high. We were very happy from there hospitality but don't buy their spices ever.

This is a very good spice garden to explore if you are in Thekkady. I found this place through the positive google reviews I saw and it did not disappoint. Mr. Abraham is very passionate about the place and his hard-work is pretty evident. We also bought some spices and few other things from here at reasonable rates. All in all, this is a place that you can add in your itinerary if you are visiting Thekkady.

We visited the garden expecting a boring tour through the garden but boy were we pleasantly surprised! Mr. Abraham, the owner guided us through each and every plant and tree in the garden and gave us samples to smell and taste wherever possible possible. Since we had a garden back home, he also gave us a few seeds to plant. He is so knowledgeable and made the tour so interesting with all the information. To someone with no idea, the garden would look like a bunch of trees just like every other surrounding in Thekkady but every inch has a unique plant to learn about. My most favourite part of the tour was seeing the cardamom processing equipment! Our tour was longer than an hour since we got so engrossed in discussions and was totally time spent well!! Must visit❤️

The best spice plantation walk one can experience .Mr.Abraham is very knowledgeable and most importantly a very humble person. He went out of his way to explain everything. Also made sure we enjoyed our walk with his little anecdotes. The price of the walk is merely 100 rs,which was totally worth it.We also bought some premium quality spices from his shop at a very reasonable amount. It was a very good experience and a must do when in thekkady.

Abraham uncles spice garden is a must visit for all those who visit Thekkedy. Its an experience of life time. He is one of the most genuine people we met and thoroughly enjoyed our visit and time spent at his garden. He is a genius and knows soo much that you feel so enlightened by the end of the tour. You can see the hard work he had put in and I would recommend everyone to visit when you visit Thekkedy. We loved our experience and short walk and time spent with the genuine man.
