Thane (formerly Thana, station code: TNA) is an A1 category major railway station of the Indian Railways serving the city of Thane, Located in Maharashtra, it is one of the busiest railway stations in India. As of 2013, Thane railway station handles 260000 people daily. More than 1,000 trains visit the station each day, including 330+ long-distance trains.The station has ten platforms. It is the origin and destination station of all the trans-harbour suburban trains. Thane is India's first passanger railway Station along with Boribunder Railway Station.

Very busy throughout the day. Very crowded. The bus stop nearby on both the sides. Though connectivity is very good but one has to sometimes wait for long time and because of the crowd and busy-ness, it becomes very hectic. Lot of street and junk food options available nearby. Both local and outstation trains go through this station. Cheap and convenient conveyance and street food. Public Restrooms availabile at the station.

Pretty clean station, even though it is crowded is well managed

About this station i would suggest its good station and nowdays people are very aggresive to being neat and clean so evveywhere almost clean at station with protective with govt.security guard force. At this sation there is so many ticket counter facility to make faster and easiest to travel by ticket. And there is atvm self ticket machine also and that machine at over the bridge also even some atvm machine at ticket counter also so people can make fast tarvel. Thane railway station is one of the busiest station in Mumbai. It is one of the important junction in the Mumbai for local train and exoress train as well. From Thane to CST Mumbai train track is the first train track strted by Sher Shah. Which is the Platform 1 of Thane Station. Here the train for CST starts from here only, so people boarding at Thane get seats from this station only, which is rare from other platforms. From platform no 1,4 and 6 , trains run towards CST. In line 4 slow and in 6 fast train run. But the crowd is more in platform no 6 and 4 as compared to train which starts from platform no 1. Si the chances of getting seat in train running in platform no 4 and 6 is rare because they come from Kalyan / Dombivali/ Karjat/ Ambernath / Titwala etc. Sometimes from platform no 3 also train starts for CST. Platform no 2 is for going to Kalyan / Dombivali/ Ambernath/ Titwala. Platform no 5 is for going to Kasara / Karjat/ Khopoli. Platform no 7 is for express train. Platform no 9 and 10 for going to Vashi/ Nerul / Panvel.

According to me this station is very bad because No Cleaning, the plase is full of water,And waiting room is also not good like Delhi only one small room.The light wiring of the station is also filled with rain water. Due to which short circuit of the light can also happen.look at last image this is ticket office Thane.

Overall looked quite clean @ platform 9 & 10 but trains are really very late for harbour line which could be improved

One of the worst railway stations I have seen. Went there for the first time yesterday and had a tough time finding the platform., getting a platform ticket (finally booked it through an app) Sad to see one of the important stations. Also the taxi drivers charge double what the prepaid cabs charge. These taxi drivers do not allow the ola, uber cabs to come near the station so you are forced to use these taxi especially if you have a lot of luggage and with senior citizens. Find all details beforehand and only then go there, else you will have a problem.

When we going to station bridge for platform no. 5 to platform no.4 there bad things that after going up we know there no option to go at platform no. 4 Its very bad 👎 it should be close. It's half bridge.

In a recent survey it was considered one of the cleanest stations. There is a proposal to erect a Railway Station in between Thane and Mulund..Over the years ,the station has improved a lot. The Station has heritage status.

One of the most important railway station in Mumbai. It's just like a junction to local trains and express trains. So it stays crowded all time, Specially in morning and evening.

Platforms not at all clean with no proper cleaning maintenance. No escalators and lifts at proper places with full time running. 10 ticket counters but only 2 3 working with no quick team and no digital payment options whenever required. Have proper network and cash line should be different. Digital payment must be accepted by the employees. Platforms 7 and 8 have no quick access for exit and no escalators and lifts connected to 1 and 10 platforms. Poor management of railways. Outer premises must be a bit of free so that people can at least walk in/out through.

As clearly mentioned that urinal is free the person in side the shauchalaya forces to take 2 Rupess . This wash room is at platform number 2 . It on Government property why he charging money for urinal. Strickly action should be taken by authority.
