Awesome place. A must visit for nature lovers. Surrounded by pine trees the lake is full of fishes. You will surely enjoy the trek upto the lake. Varieties of ferns add to the beauty of this place. You can touch the clouds here.

Heaven on earth. Lamahatta is a village garden having a trekking trail in the hills and at the top of the hill there is a lake. Local people believes the lake to be very pure Lamahatta has been developed as an eco-tourism place in late 2012. Earlier in the same year when the Chief Minister of the state Ms. Mamata Banerjee was passing by Lamahatta in March, she stopped by for a while and took some pictures of this roadside mountain village, its vast stretching forests of dhupi & pines, and the magnificent views of the peaks and rivers around.

The lake is very beautiful at the top of the hill... It has great importance as per Buddist mythology, as per mythology water of Pond have the blessings of Lord Buddha. The lake is about 750metre from the base of the Park. One have do travel through the rock layered road to reach to the sacred pond.

The route thru the pine trees is just awesome and full of silence. Adventure like feelings. Will take 20-30mints to reach the water body or pond. Another route to the pine is also there from the water body site but I think one need to avoide for its secluded place. Anyone can try if he/she has no fear and guts.

It was sunny October morning and the breeze was cool, perfect for an outing. The place is about two hours journey from Siliguri. Beautiful flowers,. both local and traditional, will definitely impress you. The garden is well maintained. There is a small water body surrounded by pines and other conifer trees on the hill top. Picture perfect for a selfie or a group photo. Visit suggested.

Lamahatta has recently become a popular tourist attraction. It's a kilometer long trek through pine trees until you reach the pond on top of the mountain. The track is paved and is easy to walk along. I found it mesmerizing to walk through the pine trees. The place is magical and a constant interplay of light, shadows and misty clouds makes you feel like you're in a wonderland. Once you reach the pond, venture into the forest. You will feel tiny amongst the giant pine trees. The place is teeming with birds and makes for an amazing bird watching spot. One of the best spots in and around Darjeeling. Period.

Sacred water body is above the hills surrounded by beautiful pine forest. To reach the lake a little trekking is required.Just follow the cobbled stone path which will take a bit longer time but the trek is very easy. For more challenging trek take offroad and trek vertically up the hills to bypass the longer road.

A steep hike from the entrance of the Lamahatta Eco Park for a km approximately will get you to these sacred pond situated at the hilltop. The walking trail to this place is very very beautiful and the sight of the pond after reaching the hilltop is indeed very gratifying and enjoyable.
