This style of architecture is rarely followed in the construction of ponds anywhere in Kerala. The closest resemblance it bears is to the stepwells of North India known as Baoris. Many such wells can still be spotted in Delhi, Karnataka, Rajasthan, and Gujarat.

The pond is very beautiful. The steps are very decorative. We should admire on the workmanship of this big pond. This is a temple of Lord Murugan. Generally we can see lot of Murugan temples in Tamilnadu. But in Kerala the murugan temples are very small in number.
