Good place Guru Nanak Jhira Sahib is a Sikh historical shrine situated in Bidar, Karnataka. Gurdwara Nanak Jhira Sahib was built in the year 1948 and is dedicated to the first Sikh guru Guru Nanak. Bidar has a very long association with Sikhism as this is the home town of Bhai Sahib Singh, one of the Panj Pyare (five beloved ones), who offered to sacrifice their heads and were later baptised as the first members of the Khalsa

Guru Nanak Sev ji was greatly moved by the miserable condition of the people of Bidar, Karnataka, and while uttering Sat Kartar, shifted a stone and removed some rubble from the place with his wooden sandal. To the utter surprise of all, a spring of cool and fresh water that has flowed to this day. This is how the place soon came to be known as Nanak Jhira (Jhira=Stream). The crystal clear stream that still flows out of a rock near the Gurudwara is believed to be God's answer to the Guru's prayers. source: Wikipedia

This is the biggest and most well known among the Gurudwaras in Bidar. The Gurudwara is also among the most visited place in Bidar. The place is visited by Sikh Pilgrims as well as people from other religions. The Gurudwara complex is well laid out and is huge with ample parking. The entrance gate is beautiful and very impressive. The whole arrangement of visiting the spring and then the main Gurudwara is very well managed. The Gurudwara provides free Langer to the pilgrims and visitors. The tea is also available for free in the dining hall and is a must try. Overall a place worth visiting for the religiously inclined as well as the tourists. It’s a beautiful gurudwara, has a scenic view, the Stream has sweet water and with eyes closed you can go back in time and visualize the story of guru Nanak blessing the place with sweet water. Many localities also come.

You feel the eternal power when you experience it. There is a natural spring from where the water is collected in this pond. The water is surprisingly soothing as compared to any other sources of water in this district. Guru Nanak Dev ji had visited this town when people complained about scarcity and taste of the water. Guruji lifted his khadao (wooden slippers) and the spring of water erupted from below his step. Bidar is a drought prove district but this spring has never ran dry since Guru Nanak Dev ji's time. Worth a visit to this holy place of Sikhs.

Fresh water flows from place, where our Sachay pathshah Baba Nanak created a fresh water spring; by placing his charan ji (his foot) on that spot. The amrit prasad is cool ( as cool as water in earth pot) in summers.
