The “Haldighati” name derived because of soil of this region is like “Haldi” (Turmeric). “Haldighati” war fought between the Soldiers of Akbar.. headed by Raja Man Singh of Amber & Maharana Pratap. War was one of the bloodiest battle ever fought, it was so fierce that even today the land still seems to be carrying the shade of the blood shed here. There was heavy rain on that war evening & all blood got mix up with yellow mud of Haldi Ghati and washed out in this pond; it looked like blood pond as its name suggest “Rakt Talai” During this battle, Maharana's faithful horse “Chetak” was injured on one of his hind legs when he confronted Maan Singh who was on an elephant. A historic battle, a brave hero and wonderful vibes make this place an outstanding memorial to bravery anywhere in the world. Considering the history attached to it Govt has given very less importance to it. Need more efforts from tourism department. There is one guide who narrate the history of battle at this place.. Rakt talai khamnore is located in City of Rajsamand

The HALDIGHATI name has come by the fact that the soil of that region is like haldi (a spice with yellow color). THE HALDIGHATI war had been fought on June 18 ,1579 between the Royal Soldiers of Akbar ( Raja Man Singh of Amber ) & Maharana Pratap with approx 2.5 Lac soldiers of Akbar & just approx 25000 solders of Maharana Pratap. There was Blood & Blood all over the Ghati & that day even the god had not been able to stop his tears in the form of Rain. .There was heavy rain on that evening & all red color blood got mix up with yellow mud of Haldi Ghati.

Historical place and memorial of those who lost their lives during Haldi Ghati war in June 1576 between Maharana Pratap Army and Mughal King Akbar Army. Well maintained monuments of India. Everyone should visit this place to remember our magnificent past and sacrifice of our brave soldiers for the sake of our independence from mughal empire. Recommend to everyone.

RAKT TALAI Blood-frying is the place where a fierce battle took place between Maharana Pratap and Akbar's army on June 18, 1575. In this ground, hundreds of warriors of both the armies received Veergati and the blood flowing from their wounds took the form of a pond. Was taken, on the basis of which this place is called blood fried. It is very famous place in khamnore near Haldighati. It is very beautiful place.

It is a historical place now converted into a garden. Story behind the name is ,in the battle of Haldighati there was huge number of deaths in both the forces , at evening when the battle stop it was raining and due to rain the blood of the death and injured soldiers got collected over this place. So it is called "rakt" which means blood and "talai" which means pond. It has the samdhi of the warriors of the Haldighati battle like The senapati of Maharana Pratap.

Place has historical importance but it is neglected for long by state govt. It has come under central govt now. So may be, it would be maintained well now.

Good place.. history of this place is really mind-blowing... But no support from government side.. Due to that.. Just like a park only... One person is there who explain about the place... Useful only for who understand the gravity of history.

Must visit place. If you're really interested in the history then this place needs to be in your bucket list. The place is nit that much happening but the history of the place will shock you. Rakht means blood & Talai means lake. Blood lake. Yes. its call blood lake. People said, this lake made by the people who died in the war happened between Maharana Pratap & Mughal. But now government made a garden over here & having two samadhis in this garden area.

This the actual place where great battle of haldi ghati was fought. It is said that there was seen like a pond of blood after the battle hence the name rakt talai which literally ‘means pond of blood’
