Worst experience!! I can’t say about all faculty members but the one who assisted me was very rude, arrogant and didn’t had patience to deal with the clients.I had some issue with my parental names and was trying to ask him for easy solutions coz it was was second chance for me to go there in that week. But he got angry over my polite queries and was rude.He usually sits in outer section (counter first). One who deals with the public must have patience, manners and tolerance.

On the day of your appointment, make your way to the PSK office from Dalgate to Ghat no. 12.Reach 15 minutes before appointment time. Carry the printed copy of the appointment receipt at the counter(For Printout and Photostate go to the Ghat No.15).Only applicant is allowed inside the Passport Office. However, in case of exceptions such as Senior Citizen / Physically Challenged / Illiterate / Minor applicants, one person from the family may be allowed to accompany the applicant. DOCUMENTS to be submitted for Fresh/Normal(Original+Xerox):- Appointment Receipt,Aadhar,DOB/10th Marks Sheet(For Non-ECR). Stages for FRESH/NORMAL Passport: At PSK, a paper token will be issued to you after checking of documents. Your application will be processed at Counter A(15-20 minutes )followed by counters B(20-30 minutes) and C(10-15 minutes). At all stages,be alert and watch the token display screens or the staff will call your name in order to know the counter at which your application will be processed. Collect acknowledgement slip from the Exit counter before leaving. Also, you are requested to fill the feedback form at the exit counter. In case of TATKAAL application: Balance service fee has to be paid inside Passport Office.collect the payment receipt from the counter after payment. Application processing at Passport Office may take approximately 2 hours due to additional verifications required before processing of such applications. Therefore, "TATKAAL" applicants are advised to plan their schedule accordingly.

I recently applied for the reissue of my passport and got it within 2 months. Among that 2 months 1 month 25 days were taken with police verification. In Kashmir, the passport is about Police verification and they waste a lot of time, the passport office will print and dispatch your passport the same day they will get the report. Here are some of the tips for the fast processing of your passport. 1. Always apply from the Srinagar PSK office and not from local offices (like Baramulla, Anantnag Et cetera). The files are sent for police verification within 2 days if you apply from Srinagar and for the same, it takes 15-20 days if done at Baramulla or other local offices. 2. Police verification goes to Local Thana and the CID office. Ask the local thana people to send the file on the same day and visit your police station for CID verification. The file once sent from the local thana goes to the SDPO office where the DSP just signs it. Now here the clerks of the DSP might ask you a for bribe to move your file. After signing here it will go to the SP office of your district. From here to the SSP office and back to the SP office. At the same time, the Verification is done by CID local office and then sent to the SP office. From here to the SSP office and back to the SP office. Now both your reports are present at SP Office (Police as well as CID). From here they make the challan and get the sign of SP and send the file to CID headquarters in Srinagar. Now here you have to personally visit all these places and ask them to move your file (by any means) and only then they will move it. Else it will be left there in the pile of documents. I saw people waiting from 6 months despite a clear report. 3. The CID headquarters takes 5-10 working days before they process your file and upload it. I had to use a lot of approach despite a clear report to get the final status uploaded from the CID headquarters. Even with so much approach it took 4 days to uploaded the final status on the portal. 4. The passport office prints and dispatches the passport the same day when they get the report. If the police and CID Report is clear then the file is processed on the same day and the passport is printed and shipped. My CID AND Police Report was clear and the passport was dispatched on next working day and I got my passport through the India post after two days. BB Nagar, RPO Srinagar is a great man and very helpful. The delay in processing is just caused by the police department who won't move your file (and the reason is well known).

I called on the helpline several times only to be picked up by a rude staff. I talked politely and even mentioned i was from Ladakh which is far away from Srinagar, and yet he rudely insisted i should come to counter no 5 at RPO Srinagar for my problem to be solved. The staffs should be properly trained, why are they even working in a public office if they don't know how to deal with public!!

I recently had the unfortunate experience of visiting at passport offce, and I must say it was absolutely dreadful. The atmosphere in that place was beyond unpleasant – it was downright nightmarish. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted by a sea of angry faces, all contorted with frustration and impatience. The employees at this government office were the epitome of bad behavior. They seemed to take pleasure in shouting loudly at anyone who dared to approach their counters. It was as if they were participating in some sort of shouting competition, and the customers were the unwilling audience. The cacophony of raised voices was deafening, and it felt like I had walked into a den of hostility. As I patiently waited my turn, I couldn't help but notice the complete lack of professionalism among the staff. They rolled their eyes, sighed audibly, and displayed a total disregard for basic courtesy. It was as if they had forgotten that they were there to serve the public. I approached one of the employees to ask a simple question, and the response I received was nothing short of rude, I felt like I had committed a crime by seeking assistance. It was as if my mere presence was an inconvenience to them. Overall, my visit to this office was a nightmarish ordeal that I would not wish upon my worst enemy. The unpleasent atmosphere, the angry faces, the incessant shouting, and the abysmal behavior of the employees all combined to create an experience that was truly awful. It's a shame that a place meant to serve the public could be so utterly unwelcoming and hostile.

It is a shame that you guys have kept a landline number but no one answers that . We have applied for a PCC and its been more than a month and the status on the website is the same as it was on the first day ( Hatts off to you for the wonderfull Service). Atleast have the decency to answer calls as its urgent for people to have these documents on time . There is no professionalism among staff who are mostly talking to each other while you wait. Shameless ! and Ironic ! .

NEVER BUY THEIR FAKE PASSPORT JACKETS. Apart from a slight delay at the initial document checking counter ,the overall experience is smooth although not very professional. Was trapped into buying cheap/ fake so called ‘genuine leather ‘ passport jackets. As a tactic, they don’t deliberately keep a sample on display because of the cheap quality product delivered by post. Am surprised how a reputed business house like TATA can mislead applicants appearing for passport services at the centre.

I recently visited the Regional Passport Office in Srinagar, and despite not having a passport-related concern, I had an excellent experience. The staff and officials were incredibly helpful in addressing my queries, showcasing a high level of professionalism. Their willingness to assist even for non-passport matters left a positive impression on me. Overall, I commend the Regional Passport Office in Srinagar for their courteous and efficient service. Moreover, the location of the Regional Passport Office in Srinagar is truly captivating. Situated with an enchanting view of Dal Lake just in front of the premises, the surroundings add a unique charm to the entire experience. During my visit, I noticed people happily taking selfies, capturing photos, and enjoying their time around the picturesque lake. The blend of efficient service and a stunning environment makes this passport office stand out as a delightful place to visit. Plus :- inside the office is a kiyana shop where in you can do photostate and print out of the documents (if asked) so no need to worry 👍🏻Have a nice visit:)
