My review is not for the newly constructed beautiful church, where I like to sit right on the floor under the dome, in meditation. But it is for the old Christ the King statue installed outside where millions of people like me come to pray. I have a feeling that whatever asked earnestly in prayer is granted here- it is here that I prayed for two of my friends who were having repeated miscarriages for years. Both were blessed with children within a year of my praying here and it does not surprise me. I love the serene face of the Christ the King statue, especially His eyes- they're kind and lucid. When I pray standing before the statue and touch His cloak (which we are unable to do now due to covid restrictions), I can literally feel my burdens being cast unto Jesus. Love you, my King. One of the most beautiful Churches I have ever seen in Kerala, a must church to visit, it is a pilgrim centre of Christ the King.

The interior works are massive and Impressive. There are biblical paintings that decorates the ceiling, and the stained glass windows add to the beauty.

Interior architecture is highly embarassing.....highly peaceful... situated opposite to the beach...but it is highly clam and peaceful inside the church.. Mobile phones are allowed to switched off inside the church...... Large space for prayer and sitting...... Big one and highly positive vibes

Vettukad Church is one of the famous Christian churches in Trivandrum, Kerala. It is a very calm place to pray and we get a good divine feeling. The church has been renovated recently and the interior of the church has been greatly beautified. In the past, St. Francis Xavier is said to have visited here. Every year, the church festival is celebrated for 10 days in the month of November. The authorities have arranged proper car parking facilities. There is a statue of Christ the King outside the church. If you look closely, you can see something like a king's crown on its head. There are places to light candles, and to get holy water and oil. One thing that I noticed different from other churches is the sacred thread. If you pray and tie the thread in your hand, the thread will be broken by the time that wish is fulfilled. The fact that the church is so close to the beach makes it even more beautiful. In the evening, we can spend time with activities like watch lighted boats with nice breeze, have snacks, do shopping, etc.

A blessed place of worship for people of all religions. You can feel the inner peace when you are there. And the artwork is amazing, especially the wood carvings. Highly recommend if you are in trivandrum

Magnificent Church right on the beach. Madre De Deus is an iconic pilgrimage spot in Trivandrum. The new church is much larger than the older one. People from all over come here for pilgrimage. Parking is available. Traffic maintenance is always there.

This new building of the Church is now almost 90 years old, having been consecrated in 1937, and whose construction began in 1934. A Christian population is believed to have existed here when St Francis Xavier visited this area in the late 16th century. Since almost 500 years, the Feast of Christ the King has been celebrated in Vettucaud. The Church is really beautiful from the inside and the outside with beautifully carved woodwork and stained glass windows. The main hall is huge with high ceilings.

Really loved this church.... Amazing architecture.... The spiritual atmosphere and the beach near the church increases the beauty of the place.... When travelling to public transport please check the availability and it's timings...

Possibly the largest church complex in Trivandrum and an architectural marvel. Would highly recommend everyone to visit the church especially on Fridays and Sundays.

I just love the tranquillity in this church.. They have good services of Holy Mass.. The beach opposite to church is another attraction.

Church where everyone comes even Hindus are seen and Christian also bcz of everyone belief. Magical church where you can sit whole day and sit and prayer. Miraculous moments are captured. The alter is so beautiful worked. The shell curtain at entrance make more creative. The walls are engrave with different stories of bible.
