First drive in Beach I have seen in India. It was such a wonderful experience to drive on the beach which is almost more than 1km stretch. But make sure you get the vehicle washed soon after coming back as the salty sand deposited on the car may damage the car.

This is one of the few drive in beaches of South India. We visited here on our bikes. There's an entry price of 20 per bike. The sand is not loose like the other beaches and it gives a good amount of grip. Overall it was a great experience riding in the beach with water splashing. Must visit if you're nearby Kannur.

One of the best places in kerala for a totally different experience. Here you could drive at the beech without worrying about getting stuck in the sand. And it is also the longest driving beach in Asia. I got rejuvenated and relieved of my mental agony after visiting this place and spending time here at the beach. The vehicles are however suggested to have a clean wash after the drive is finished so to prevent any corrosion. There are also some nice cafeterias by the beach. Totally worth the visit.

This beach is the longest Drive-In Beach in Asia and is featured among the top 6 best beaches for driving in the world in BBC article for Autos. Muzhappilangad is the only Asian beach featured in the list. Even though Goa has many beautiful beaches, it does not have a Drive-in beach. It is considered as the longest drive-in beach in Asia. The beach festival is celebrated in the month of April and it is one of the important tourist attraction in the district of Kannur in Kerala. The youth also try many driving stunts in cars like drifting and wheeling in bikes as this is a paradise for driving along the shore. There is an unpaved road winding through coconut groves leading to the beach. To get to this road, if you are driving from Tellicherry towards Kannur, take the left turn just before the first railway crossing you encounter after crossing the Moidu bridge. The beach is about 5 km long and curves in a wide area providing a good view of Kannur on the north. Local laws allow beachgoers to drive for a full 4 km directly on the sands of the beach. The beach is bordered by black rocks, which also protect it from the stronger currents of the ocean. These rocks provide habitat for Blue mussel, a delicious seafood. Beach attracts bird-watchers from far off places as hundreds of birds flock here during various seasons. Approximately 100–200 m south of the beach there is a private island called Dharmadam Island (Pacha Thuruthu in Malayalam, which translates to Green Island in English). It is possible to walk to the island during low tide from the nearby Dharmadam beach

One of the very few drive in beaches in India. Very less crowd compared to others and the water level always stays below waist level makes the beach feel like a mile radius swimming pool. You can drive your bike and car here. Also the water is completely safe because the water level is very low. Water will be clean compared to most of the beaches. And the beach part is cleaned regularly

Asia's largest motor ridable beach. Can explore adventures driving skills along with narrow tide on the beach. It's an amazing experience here at Muxhappilangad Beach. Must have a good water service to your vehicle after having activities on beach.

If you're a driving enthusiast planning to explore all terrains, this place would bring a one off experience of driving and splashing through the waves. You could meet several people from different regions and cultures there, so it could also be a one off a kind experience if you're not an Introvert.

Asia’s longest drive in beach. It’s a beautiful place, but be careful with the vehicles. There’s no separate track and there’s always a chance for accidents.

  • 5/5 Jafar K. 1 year ago on Google
Muzhappilangad has the reputation of being the 'only drive in beach' in Kerala. The only beach with a drive along the beautiful Malabar coast along a four kilometer stretch of sand. Muzhappilangat is seven kilometers from Thalassery. Enjoy the waves of the Arabian Sea and spend your time eating authentic Malabar food from the small shops along the shore. This part of the sea is suitable for swimming as it is shallow and the current is relatively low.

(Translated by Google) Muzhappilangad beach is a beach in Kannur district in the state of Kerala, India. This beach is located on the National Highway 17 between Kannur and Thalassery. This is the only vehicular beach in Kerala. Muzhappilangad beach is the largest drive-in beach in Asia. . The 5 km long beach is in a large semicircle. Dharmadam Island is an island in the sea about 200 m south of the coast. This small island is also known locally as Pachathuruthu. The Muzhappilangad beach can be driven (in-beach) for up to 4 km. Vehicle tires do not sink into the sand as the sand here is more sure to get wet when the water gets wet during high tide. It is relatively shallow so it is safe to dive into the sea. For some years, the Beach Festival is held here during the months of April and May. Sea adventures, cruises, children's entertainment, art and cultural events and exhibitions are organized here as part of the festivities. Many people visit Muzhappilangad beach daily in the evenings to relax and enjoy the breeze. There are several resorts along the beach. But the development of the beach still needs to be done properly. Accommodation and restaurants are still a major drawback.
