This is a large space containing variety of tigers, leopards, lions and other big cat species and this is very popular among the visitors at the Nandan Kanan Zoological Garden, close to the city of Bhubaneswar, the capital of Odisha.

Attractive in #White_tiger and #Black_Tiger #Nandankanan is the first zoo in India witha white tiger safari. It provides unique situation where the visitors are confined in a vehicle and the animals #Roam_in_the_open_jungle. A twenty-minute drive through the meandering roads crisscrossing the natural forest in a special protected vehicle takes the visitors straight into the pride of lion in the lion safari. Also visitors can avail opertunity to slight sloth bears in their natural habitat through safari bus service.

Just love to watch the tigers and the white tigers are just too well maintained. The tigers are plenty in numbers. This zoo is well maintained.

We were lucky that all animals were moving except the lions which were resting in tree shades and took photos of them.

THE MOST IMPORTANT ATTRACTION of Nandankanan Zoo! The Location can be found in the Map, at the entrance – Please study it properly. Tiger: Nandankanan is most famous for the Larget number of Species (Animal, Birds, Reptiles, etc) and specially the Large number of White Tigers & Black (Black is VERY, VERY RARE – Please see our PHOTOS to see Black tiger)! (If my information is right, the total number of Tigers touches 26, out of 9 are White (with 5 Females & 5 Males) – If better figures are available, kindly correct me, please. Although we cant say the exact time, they are seen roaming in their yard (out of cage) in the morning & evening hours; normally they avoid Hot sun (ie, say after 11 AM to 3.30 PM) & take rest in cage or Shades. To our best Luck, we could see many of them roaming and could click good poses (ref our Photos). Lion: Unfortunately, we could not not see many – the cub, which was sleeping is photographed & given below. Ref to wiki for more deyails. The main centre of attraction in Nandankanan Zoological Park is this one. From the main entrance to the zoo, one has the thoughts of viewing tigers & lions & here your dream comes true. You can find Indian tigers, white tigers, banded black tiger (A hybrid), leopards & Indian lions. These beasts are scattered in a vast area which covers almost 25% of the total area of Nandankanan Zoological Park.

Nice to visit in zoo for looking Tigers And Lions

On the weekends you will enjoy the trip, as there are lots of people in the zoo, and the tigers roam in the cages very often. If you are unable to find the tiger's cage I shall advise you to take a BOV(Battery operated Vehicle) for the trip it will take you to every place in the zoo except the Jungle Safari. Thank You. Very much interesting. We reached at about 04:30pm. We saw them very closely. Actually they were waiting for food i.e. fresh red meat. They are generally fed at 5'o clock.

Amazing place

This is best place to see tiger in action. You can see bengal tigers and white tiger. The number of tiger when i visited there is around 12 tiger. I m lucky to get the chance to see tigers when they are feeding them. Also there is 4 white tiger which i haven't seen in my entire life till I reached here such a good experience of tiger in this place.
