During my stay in Chennai in February 2016, the StoryTrails India of Chennai suggested different activities (look at the joined illustrations), I have chosen the spice trail : The pleasant Laskmi drove us (me and a group of travellers) in narrow streets of Chennai in order to partially follow the pass of foods before his arrival in kitchen, we have discovered different craft shops with a just balance between knowledge sharings and its commercial aspects. After this interesting walk, she invited us to join a nice cooker to prepare some various succulent indian dishes in a friendly ambience (I did the show flipping a dosa as a crêpe) : Your hands, your noses, your eyes, yours ears, your tongues... will wriggle ;-)

I joined the food trail with my family. I was anxious that It was the first chance for my 2 kids (6 and 8 years) to participate in a tour program that could be too informative for them to be bored. But lakshmi, the story-teller of the program, helped my kids enjoy the moments to taste indian cousine with her own expertise to derive interests of kids. More than half of the foods that she introduced were special version of indian delights or desserts supposedly due to her circumspect arrangement for my kids (kids tend not to deny anything sweet expecially in a milky way). Coincidentally microphones that helped us listen to the voice of Lashmi in cacophony from the chaotic marketplace effectively mesmerized my kids not to be lost physically in the maze-like marketplace and figuratively in the sequence of historical strories. We were relieved to see my children willingly and attentively focus on the program.

A must do if you are in Chennai. Their guides are extremely professional and very knowledgeable. Our Bazaar tour was excellent and a highlight of our trip to Chennai. Look forward to trying out their other day tours next time I visit Chennai.

The best way to experience Chennai as a tourist. We have done 3 of the trails and loved each one. The food tour was our favourite. Lakshmi is a energetic and attentive guide who weaves magical stories with each bite of a new snack. Not to be missed in Chennai.

A great tour of the oldest district in Chennai: Mylapore. With charm, wit, authenticity and information. One of the best city tours I have ever experienced. Many thanks to Lakshmi for a great morning. We'd love to come back again!

Brilliant We have had several tours of temples in India with guides that are just focussed on telling us which statue was which god - once is interesting, after that we couldn't remember which god was which. They give us their patter, but are not flexible and can't answer our more general questions. Lakshmi of Storytrails was so different - she asked to watch what the visitors to the temple were doing and then she explained to us what their actions meant. She also shared the social history of the temple (Mysore, Chennai). Really interesting and worthwhile. Highly recommended.

If only we could give 6 stars! Unforgettable experience. We did 3 fantastic story trails with Lakshmi who was our guide - the Peacock Trail (fascinating), the Food Trail (sooo delicious) and the Spice Trail (cooking class with Lakshmi and a fantastic cook cutely named Baby - once again so delicious). As soon as we met Lakshmi, we instantly liked her. Lakshmi is an amazing story teller. She has a kind heart, she’s very knowledgeable and will turn any artefact, dish, or ritual into an amazing (true) story. Like in the famous The Thousand and One Nights novel, you just cannot stop listening to her and asking her many questions. In just two days we learnt so much about South India, its peoples, traditions, foods, religions, rituals and so much more. Lakshmi speaks a beautiful and elaborated English. Her enthusiasm and friendliness come across at every instant. A must do if you’re in Chennai! I can’t recommend Storytrails enough.

Mr. Suresh KV hosts the Trivandrum story trail and it is more than amazing. This is not your regular guide but someone who has the entire history and does it for passion. Experience it and your perception of history will change.

This strolling visit incorporates visiting a sanctuary just as a Catholic Church, venturing into a Chenai's home, some food in a nearby bistro and an auto rickshaw ride. Our guide was well disposed, connecting with and simple to converse with on an assortment of subjects. I would profoundly suggest this visit!
