Medical College Square is a traffic roundabout of approximately 50 meter in diameter next to Government Medical College (GMC) main entrance. Six roads converge there, three of then divided and others undivided. Two roads run along the perimeter wall of the GMC. This is the biggest traffic round about in Nagpur. GMC started functioning at this site in 1953 and the square exist prior to that. The square is on east side of railway line and southern part of city. It was on outskirts of Nagpur then but today it is in central zone of the city. Right from begining, it is important place in city as GMC was the only well equipped and biggest medical facility in erstwhile Central Provinces and Berar and now in Maharashtra. For patients from central India this was and is the best government medical facility and the square is always crowded. All types supporting infra structure developed around it and today it is busy, crowded but peaceful and green neighborhood.
