Must visit holy place. The basilica holds the mortal remains of St. Francis Xavier. It is said that the saint's body was as fresh as the day it was buried. The remains of the saint still attract a huge number of tourists Christian and non-Christian alike from all over the world, especially during the public viewing of his body every ten years last held in 2014. The Basilica of Bom Jesus is more than 408 years old and is open to the public every day. The body of St. Francis Xavier is in a well-decorated casket. The saint is said to have miraculous powers of healing. This is one of the oldest churches in Goa and in India. The church also holds paintings of scenes taken from the life of St. Francis Xavier. The church is located in old Goa.

This is the Chapel of St. Francis Xavier is less than 1km, away from the Main Basilica, Bom Jesus Church. The chapel is a little ahead of the Petrol Pump, to the left. This is the place where Francis Xavier lived when he first came to Goa in 1542. It is also the place of the College of St. Paul. There is a Konkani mass held every 6th of the month at 10am, as 6th symbolises the date when Francis Xavier arrived in Goa. A must see.

So many people have uploaded the wrong photos of this place. They have uploaded the photographs of the church of Basilica of bom Jesus. There is a yellow colour chapel of St. Francis Xavier. There is a well behind this chapel and it's a holy well. The water of this well is holy. You can tell the locals and remove water from the well and fill up the bottle. Use to put in your house and upon you. Its holy water. ***Please do not litter the place. Keep our Goa clean and green***

Good place to hangout with family and children's. Less crowd, but calm environment, I believe less people opt to visit it. Obviously an architectural marvel and beautiful in its own right. But female visitors must be wary of wearing any sort of revealing clothes as you would be turned right back from the door. Although the same rule doesn't apply for male visitors. There is a museum with numerous artefacts.
