Shri kamakshi is originally from goudbengal now known as Assam. When dashagotri brahmanas came to settle here they brought their deities along with them, Shri kamakshi which was the kuladevata ie family godess of certain families they eracted temple and established the idol of kuladevata there in vilage Rei now know as Rai in salcette, During inquisition period the devoties who are addressed as mahajans now-a-days shifted the idol to other bank of river zuari at Vazem in shiroda to avoid destruction . Yet they faced problems and troubles from missionaries so they shifted to dabolim on same bank and village for some time and finally shifted to ka kalamaran now know as thal in kapadshem area of shiroda. Recently every amavasya day becomes zatra day. Thousands of devotees from goa and outside visit the temple for blessings of Shri kamakshi devi. Various types of household items clothing footwear cosmetic eatables flower shops you will find in feri which are visited by everyone and done good purchase. Of choice. Mahashivratri is the main mahaparvani festival. Others are navaratri dadara ramanavami and such other regular festivals throughout the year. A beautiful place beautiful temple do visit for peace of mind and blessings

Kamakshi temple situated in Ponda, Goa is superbly built & very neatly maintained. There are enough rooms equipped with basic facilities @very reasonable rents, for the benefits of pilgrims, who desire to stay & worship the Goddess, #KamakshiAmma. Loved our stay here🙏

Shree Kamakshi is family diety of many Goan families. On Amavasya (new moon) day devotees visit temple in large number and worship devi Kamakashi. It is believed that this day is best to receive blessings from Devi Kamakshi
