It is known as periyamedu periya palli vasal.. its located exactly opposite to Jawaharlal Nehru stadium in vepery.. the majid was huge big and it has a capacity of over 1000 to pray at a time.. it was famous mainly on Ramzan nd Bakrid were huge crowd will gather for prayer..

Alhumdulillah great contributions by our elder to build a great mosque in the heart of central Chennai,,, ample space for pray area but difficult for car and scooter parking. Excellent Azan and khirath.

Have been to this Mosque many times. Located in heart of the city. Very near to chennai Central railway station. Well maintained Mosque has drinking water facilty, large ablution area, shoe rack facility and security guards. restrooms to be maintained as they are not clean most of the times. Popular Mosque in chennai.

A peaceful and a grand mosque!! The special occasion are on Ramzan times for Breaking the fast (iftar) one has to be there to experience such wowness!! Of course there are lot of street food and restaurants available in the area. Not parking friendly but definitely a busy area!!

A wonderful masjid. Those who come to Chennai for the first time should definitely visit this masjid. It's close to MGR station ( Central station). You can actually walk . Its about 600 meters from there . On the way you will also find the Ripon building. A historical structure now renovated and is like a jewel in the crown of chennai. The lighting during evening brings the mesmeric effect of this Ripon building. Talking of Periamet masjid, it's a very beautiful masjid and a right place to pray and meditate here. You will feel your soul uplifted. Jummah prayers and especially the Urdu bayans are so rivetting.

I visited here a few days ago and prayed 'Ishā (night prayer) here. The mosque is very spacious that more than 600 people can pray at the same time. But the problem is Mosquitoes 🫣🫠 Even after fan and AC, they just won't budge, this whole time I had to do body movements to save myself from getting beaten and here goes your khushu' (concentration) .
