A brief but beautiful outing with your children if you have them. You get to see elephants going about their daily business of eating, washing, playing etc. They are as majestic as they are cute. It would have been nice if each one had a display board outside their enclosure with their name on it and a brief back story of how they got to the orphanage. Elephants are normally herd animals and it's also a bit sad to see them abandoned and living in an orphanage. But the caretakers look after them like their own children. So it's nice to see.

One can see Elephants at foot step. So much giant elephants busy eating & waving around. Best place to walk around and see around 30 + Elephants individually tied up & left to there job. Visited second time and really felt blessed. Sad to see many are tied up & not left to roam freely. Rest all good. Visit on weekdays as it not crowded & can see elephant left to do more jobs. It's more good if any guide is available to describe on their natural daily life .

Great place for any elephant lover.Everytime, we visit Guruvayur, we make it a point to visit this place. Most times, we visit this place even before visiting the temple. Definitely, a must see in Guruvayur. The place strictly closes at 5PM. Make sure to enter before that. The elephants are probably well taken care off and look healthy.

Lots of elephants are there which were maintained by caretakers. We can see how they are cleaning the elephants and feeding them. We can take photos and videos too. Kids will definitely enjoy the place. This is not just an elephant camp, this is home for them. Peaceful and beautiful place if you are an elephant lover. Ample parking is available and also a mini shop. Loved it.

Visiting hours: 0930 to 1730 hrs Watching the naughty baby elephants' playful is a delight. The place provides an opportunity to watch how the sick elephants are medically treated in the traditional manner. One can also watch the training given to the elephants for various ritualistic performances. Over 50 elephants are present.

The place has around 40 elephants or so. I really appreciate the fact the elephant kotta is kept very clean and tidy now. The walk way for the tourists are well maintained and all the elephants are kept in a very clean and tidy manner.

I had the pleasure of visiting Elephant Kotta in Guruvayoor recently, and it was an unforgettable experience! The sanctuary provides a truly heartwarming and ethically conscious environment for the majestic creatures it houses. The care and love given to the elephants are evident in every aspect of the facility. The Pros: 1. **Ethical Treatment of Elephants:** I was delighted to witness the compassionate and respectful way the elephants are treated at Elephant Kotta. It is clear that their well-being and happiness are top priorities for the staff. 2. **Interaction Opportunities:** The opportunity to interact with the elephants was a highlight of my visit. Feeding and bathing these magnificent creatures was a heartwarming experience, fostering a deeper connection with these gentle beings. 3. **Well-Maintained Facilities:** The entire sanctuary is well-maintained, creating a safe and comfortable space for the elephants and visitors alike. The cleanliness and orderliness of the premises were impressive. 4. **Beautiful Natural Surroundings:** The serene and lush surroundings of Elephant Kotta added to the magical experience. It felt like a tranquil retreat where nature and wildlife come together in harmony. In conclusion, Elephant Kotta is an extraordinary sanctuary that not only provides a wonderful opportunity to interact with elephants but also promotes the importance of ethical wildlife conservation. I highly recommend a visit to this sanctuary, as it offers a truly heartwarming and educational experience for animal lovers and those seeking to understand and appreciate these magnificent creatures! 🐘❤️

The elephant kotta houses around 30+ elephants and the place looks neat and clean. They clean the elephants and also clean the place where they were tied. A huge parking space for vehicles and they charged only Rs.30 per car. Entry ticket was very reasonable at Rs.20 per head for adults and Rs.10 for children. We can see elephants at a very close distance though we can't touch or feed or bathe them. Though the elephants are fed well and maintained neat, it's sad to see the mammoth creatures stay tied to one place.

A nice place for elephants. People here take good care of elephants. There are some elephants here which are donated to Shree Guruvayur devasthan. People who donate the elephant also need to give more than 5 lac for taking care of the elephant. They have tried to keep it very natural for elephants there. However the elephants are always always tied with chains to keep them in control.

Gr8 place to bring children. It's the only place where I have seen these many elephants in a single place. Space well managed. But still safety a concern....

I recently visited Skanda Residency in Guruvayoor and it was truly a must-visit place. One of the highlights of the visit was seeing a lot of elephants that serve Guruvayoor Devasvam. Kids will definitely be amazed by seeing so many elephants at the same place. The place also offers many opportunities for nice clicks and photography, but it's important to note that if you're planning to take photos of the elephants, you'll need to purchase a special ticket for your mobile camera. I also noticed that there was a small shop to buy something to feed the elephants, but unfortunately, it was closed during my visit. Nonetheless, the experience was still incredible and I would highly recommend Skanda Residency to anyone visiting Guruvayoor. Overall, it's a great place to visit with your family and friends, and the elephants are definitely a highlight. Don't forget to bring your camera and grab a special ticket if you plan on taking photos!

Must visit to appreciate divinity in nature and admire the magnificent pachyderm. Each elephant seems to have their own pad and caretaker. Enjoyed watchjng elephants eating palm leaves and banana stems. Looked peacful and enjoying the shower. The elephants were chained and was painful to watch but probably to keep visitors safe. Would have to been nicer to has some boards explaining and introducing the animals. Casual conversation with caretaker to get names, age and routines. Staff are indifferent to visitors..

Very nice to see the elephants being taken good care of. Each has its own spot. Vast area. Traditional style buildings can be seen inside the premises. Security is present. Some work is going on inside but that is no deterrent in viewing the animals. Not to be missed place.

I've wanted to visit the Elephant Kotta for at least 3 years when by uncle visited it and photos were shared on the group. So when we planned our trip to Guruvayoor, we decided to visit it on the way back and it didn't disappoint. There were quite a few elephants here. The entry fee was quite less. Elephants donated by Jayalalitha and Suresh Gopi were pointed out. We got to see an elephant that was apparently 95 years old. Overall, it was a great experience.

It was a pleasant experience to have interaction with these gaint mammals. The place is very calm and quite and full of greenery. With just entry fee of Rs. 20 for adults and Rs. 10 for children, this place is worth to spend time with your loved ones.

Poorly maintained and elephants have been tagged in wet sands without proper care. Parking fees Rs.30+ entrance fees Rs. 25. Government could have really managed this better way and provide better care to 🐘

Went there on Saturday. The place is in the midst of large trees giving the place a very cool ambience, so you will not feel tired as you walk around the place and watch the various elephants.

Kids would have good time here, ofcourse elders too.. at a single sight you could see minimum 1 elephant to maximum 5 elephants.. though all elephants are eating or nodding heads, it's nice to see.

Place where you can see 25+ elephants at one place (they say 50-60). May be some are in masth (madappadu). Worth seeing esp with children. Entry restricted to palace which may be renovated aesthetically & open for public..

It comes under Guruvayur Devasam, a quite peaceful place to spend the afternoon after visiting the Guruvayur Temple. There's almost 35+ elephants in there. Entry charge is ₹20 for adults and ₹10 for kids under 10 years.

Great place to go with your family to see elephants at a close and secured place.. Tye place is dull in business and maintenance is poor.. The elephant handlers are sometimes greedy and would ask for 500rs per person to take photo near the elephant or for touching it..
