Awesome taste and quality & quantity both are up to the mark! It's located in Kaikhali, over the main road. The ambiance and service were too good. The staffs are polite and courteous. We visited few days back and we ordered mutton gwalauti kebab, Awadhi Special mutton biryani, salad and coke. Coming to gwalauti kebab, it served with Paratha, and the taste was too good. The texture of the kebab was very creamy and spices were well balanced. In this Special Awadhi biriyani we get 4 pieces of mutton 2 alu and huge portion of rice. The biryani was not that spicy, I expected some extra spices. As per my taste the biryani was decent, quantity is huge, you can easily share this with two people, but it was very less spicy, not usual Awadhi type. Ambience and service was too good. So overall experience was pretty good.

The staffs were friendly and cooperative. The food was great quality and quantity was apt. However, we were quite disappointed with kacchi biriyani it was not at all what we expected. and they even forget to provide one food item which we had to ask again.

Finally one of the most famous biriyani joint is at Kaikhali.. As per my opinion, biriyani of India Restaurant is one of the best in Kolkata. I went to the khidirpore branch and I must say this branch is equally good as the old one. Quantity of the biriyani is good. Price is not too high. Moderate. Nothing to say about taste. It was just awesome. Shah We have ordered: Chicken Platter (5/5) Mutton Biriyani (5/5) Chicken Tikka Butter Masala (4/5) Butter Naan (4/5) Shahi Tukda (5/5) Stuff are polite, courteous. I am very upset with this brunch. Previously i ordered online that was nice. But this time it's just the worst in every aspect. 1st the service person, he doesn't have any sense of the dish, We ordered Mutton Boti Kebab, no taste of Mutton, it's tasteless, less cooked, full of marination. It tastes like grass. Mutton Boti kabab 1 star only. Now comes Awahadi Biriyani. What to say.. no flavour, no taste, only we feel salty. And mutton pieces don't ask me, even the road side biriyani shop in Kestopur gives much more quality mutton than this. This dish got 0 star. It feels that we ate our rupees and came back home. Only the kabab chatni is good.

We went on a Sunday for dinner to this place. Its located in Kaikhali, over main road, 3 storyed building, with 2 floors having seating capacity. So, enough seating is available, still queue remains long on weekends.and they dont take table bookings. We have tried their galauti kebab, which is served with paratha. Tasted good. Biriyani also tasted well. Chicken tikka butter masala was really delicious with nun or tandoori roti. Among all the ordered items, hariyali chicken we did nt like. I felt the taste was blant, no flavors. Prices are average. Good ambience.

Must try is Mutton Galawati kabab, Mutton Kacchi biriyani and tea. Mutton Kacchi Biriyani (HIGHLY RECOMMENDED). The Mutton was soft and juicy. More than sufficient for two. The Galawati kebab was served with Paratha, and the taste was too good. The texture of the kebab was very creamy and the spices were well-balanced. Two pieces in a plate. Don't order two plates, one piece is enough for one. The ambiance and service were too good. The staffs are polite and courteous. Their own tea stall is outside the Restaurant and their security guard will help/arrange a place for parking in front of the restaurant. Their guy will come and take your order from the car itself and deliver it to you. Now, it's a habit for us to have the Masala tea and Egg chicken roll once a week. All tea lovers must try it once. Definitely, you will fall in love. The egg chicken roll is good and less oily. My overall experience was excellent. I highly recommend this place to you all. A perfect place for Biriyani lovers.

The building is 5 storied. We were taken into the second floor seating area. The people were cordial and polite. We ordered tandoori chicken legs, chicken biriyani, mutton biriyani, mutton chaap and rumali roti. The taste was great and they also served on time. The biriyani amount is hefty and people with small appetite might want to share. All in all it was a great experience.

Visited on a Sunday afternoon for lunch. Perfect place for having biriyani. Very nice ambience. Staff behavior was also very good. Food was perfect. Good place for having lunch or dinner. Located at a very proper place, easy to find out and transport access is also very good. Overall experience is awesome. Will visit again.

Visited this place at last. Wanted to go at their Khidirpore outlet for so long but it was not happening. Finally it happened at their Kaikhali outlet. We Tried: Galawti Kebab Mutton Biryani Firni Galawti Kabab and Firni was absolutely amazing. But the mutton piece in mutton biryani was a bit on the harder. I must appreciate the staff's behavior and calmness. If was not for the mutton piece in the biryani I would have given 5/5 considering all the things.

We tried Mutton Biryani, as per price Biryani quality was average quantity is okay, mutton pice was very good. Also tried chicken butter masala, as per price this was really good. Staff behavior and services are very good. Restaurant atmosphere is nice. All over Good Experience 👍

All the grandeur of their main Khidderpore branch right here at Kaikhali. We have not wait much even in the weekend since they have 4 floor and enough capacity to dine out at least 200 persons. It's located at the airport side of the road. So if you're coming from the airport side you need not to cross road or take U-turn(difficult to think of at that place). Decoration, food and price all are good and moreover very hygiene maintain. Ordered their special dada mutton kachhi biryani for Rs. 370 and special with two mutton cost 410 and my all time favourite mutton galouti kebab must try here. Loved the biriyani it's totally different from other Restraurent s in Kolkata. Also the mocktail we have ordered was good specially the virgin Mojito, blue lagoon. Well behaved staffs on time order placed. Apart from that they have take out outlet, tea stall though we haven't tried this but have seen in the entry point. Overall environment is so good, nice food and services. Good experience with my family. ₹400 to ₹500 is more than enough for individual if ordered food calculatively.

On the recommendation of a friend, one fine day me and my family landed in India Restaurant Kaikhali. The main and popular branch is located at Kidderpore. They have a parking space near the restaurant. We went straight ahead to the 1st floor. There were sitting arrangements of more than 30 people. We took a seat at a corner table. The designed menu card was awesome. It tells the history of India Restaurant. It is among the top 5 Biriyani sellers in Kolkata. So I had high expectations. Then I asked the service guy for kebabs and found out most of the kebabs are not available. The time was 1.30 PM. As he insisted, we ordered Peshwari and Reshmi Kebabs. In the main course, we ordered Biryani, Mixed Raita, Chicken Gravy Dish (Probably Chicken Achari) and Firni. The kebabs got served after 20 minutes. The taste was not up to the mark. Expectations not met. Both the kebabs taste similar. Seems like they were in a hurry. Then came Biryani with chicken gravy. Special Mutton Biryani comes with an egg and 2 meat pieces. Biriyani tastes awesome. Typical Kolkata Biryani. Chicken gravy item disappointed. Not perfectly boiled chicken pieces with spicy gravy was very difficult to eat. Somehow we managed to finish our meal. Unexpectedly the Raita won my heart. It was THE finest item I had that day. Same goes to the Firni. It was also good. My favorites that day were Mixed Raita, Firni and Biryani. I thought to give the restaurant a poor rating because of the kebabs and Chicken Achari I had but I changed my mind for Raita, Biryani and Firni. Recommendations: If you ever plan to go there then do try Mixed Raita and Firni along with Biryani.

India Restaurant in Kaikhali is a must go place for food lovers. Quality & Quantity of food is totally justified. Ambience and interiors were good also. Situated just beside Kaikhali more, well connected area.

Recently went there for a family dinner and it became one splendid memory for all of us. It was little crowded festive evening still we only had to wait for a while to get seats. We all enjoyed our whole meal (didn't even get scope to leave our hand-mouth work and snap them all), however, star of the evening was chicken bharta. One of the most delicious dishes I had in a while.

The starter items were really good, especially Fish Tikka(Basa fish). But the taste was amazing, further to add to it, the ambience was great as usual, and the chicken tandoor was tasty and juicy as well. The mutton biryani(special) was standard and the finishing touch of butter naan and chicken butter tikka masala added a diamond craving to the already fabulous dinner. India restaurant never fails to disappoint.

i went there on a very special day with much expectations.....because i wanted that day to be perfect and i must say that was fullfilled by there food we tried mutton biriyani (the only complain i had the alu was bit small😭) prawn noodles (this was beyond❤️ amazing)⭐ chicken sweet corn soup( this was also very good and thick❤️) chicken achari (i think this will be with me till my last) ⭐ reshmi kabab (agaain awesome )

Love their Mutton Biryani and Galauti Kebab. Goodness the Biryani is Love. Soft and juicy Mutton pieces. And the Kebabs are to die for. The Galauti Kebab melts in the mouth. Ambience and service is great too. Located right in Kaikhali this place is easy to local too.

Had my first experience with Kacchi Biriyani, and I must say it was delectable. The serve timing, staff behaviour and decor was quite appreciable. Had a good time, would definitely visit the place again . P.S the place might get a little busy on holidays so make sure you be there a little early.

We ordered chicken tandoori and special mutton biriyani. Tandoori was very good in taste. But the mutton was not well cooked. Then I told them to change 1piece mutton. Still same, not well cooked..

The service was extremely extremely slowwwww. The food was okay, nothing great. I had heard great reviews of the biryani. I tried the Mutton Special biryani. It was average taste-wise with lots of masala and portion was sufficient for 2 people. The mutton pieces were small-medium sized. We also tried Chicken Bharta. It took over 30 mins to get it served plus this was the first place where chicken bharta wasn’t mashed/shredded chicken, it had small chunks of chicken like you get in chicken fried rice/noodles. The bharta was really disappointing. We had Galawti Kebabs and paratha. The kebabs were below average. Their was no taste in it. The phirni was the best among all. P.S. Don’t try the gajar ka halwa. It’s was a mix of gajar and moong dal halwa heated in microwave. Pathetic taste. I had high expectations from this place and it proved to be really low. Maybe that day was bad, other days the biryani served is really tasty.

Went for take-away service in busy evening hours. An waiter was there just outside the counter to guide me through placing my order. I chose, paid and was served within five minutes. Impressive service. Mutton biriyani I bought was also perfectly cooked and tasted very good.

Loved the biryani but found the tutty fruity better in their Khidderpore outlet as it was rich with fruits and had a blue lagoon flavour to less fruits and strawberry flavour in the one in Kaikhali.

Lively atmosphere. The service was good. Coming to the food, it was awesome. Mutton galawti kebab and winter special mutton nihari were awesome. These will be wrapped around your tongue for quite some time. I expected more when it came to biryanis. Mutton rara was also very impressive. Overall a good place to have a feast.

This place serves some of the best Kolkata style Biryani and delicious north Indian food. They are usually very busy and have a huge sitting space. They have multiple floors and dining areas. Their service needs some improvements! The service is very slow, they sometimes give you the wrong orders etc. Overall this is a very good place for dining with friends and family.
